factman they were the main and most well Known antagonists during the 16 bit era...
Due to this they were chosen to be in the New one...
also pretty sure they were just evil back in the day, not mind controlled or anything.
Hell, Brain (phantom in SUper R) Bomber was the main antagonist in a later Bomberman game
@@sarafontanini7051 not really, Plasma Bomber were allways the leader of the 5 in the Bomberman2, and something suggest that it was influenced by the eye last boss of that game(not spoiler alert this boss is so lame and pathetic so is not worth)

I like the new design, but also love the old one for its simplicity! I'd love if they can have his old design as his weaker form, than grow more powerful as the story progresses.

It's just the art direction they made that really bugs me. But the character design is awesome.

Yeah the Bomberman franchise is becoming underrated after its company Hudson Soft has been bought out by Konami
It truly has become an underrated series. In the 90s you had a new game on every console just about every year. Now it's rare to get a new bomberman game. Most people know it's a classic series, but nobody really knows where to delve into it. The new games are all classic formula stuff, but I haven't seen them doing anything adventurous in years, the story modes of The Second Attack, the genre explorations with Bomberman Wars, Pocket Bomberman, Bomberman Tournament, and so on, I don't think they're willing to take risks like that anymore. But it's a shame because newcomers to the series don't see how diverse the bomberman series is unless they play the older games.

That's a reason, indeed. It's sorta saddening, this series is amazingly fun and should definitively earn a space along other great and memorable games.

Im 16 but i was always a Bomberman fan so I always knew it was a redesign of Buggler/Bagura since they show the box art, then the trailer confirmed it for me.

For the record Buggler of the Bomberman franchise is a pretty good villain. Even though Buggler made 9 appearances in 9 Bomberman games he's pretty much an iconic villain and I hope he comes back in more future Bomberman games and Buggler needs more love and appreciation alongside the other iconic video game villains.

Ps. After watching I now know that He's a Doctor who uses both Machinery and Dark Magic. Nice Change of pace compared to Eggman and Wily.
The psp version seems rather easy to beat... I think the knockback is too op and almost never lets him attack you

I used a limited invincibility power-up then i spammed bombs until he got defeated, this trick also works with all other bosses (except for that one boss in the Desert world, he's annoying af)

I think the Mad Brain fight from Bomberman Advance Blue is a reference to the very first fight against Bagura in Bomberman 94
Man the 94 game was the best of all ! Look even at the boss, he is kinda scary comparing to the other sequels ! Even the music is so perfect ! Its one of my favorite games ever !
Second game now that i consider is the new R series ! But theyre yet to make a game like 94
I hate how no one knows that 94 exists
94 was my first Bomberman game. I was like 5 or 6 years old, getting through the final levels was hard on it's own, and when I reached Buggler he managed to kill me a few times. When I beat the first phase and saw the dragon robot... that plus the music had me scared shitless. I was stuck for a long time at that phase. I beat the dragon robot one christmas night, yelling out of joy ''I did it!'' as the robot exploded... only to be met with phase 3, which turned out to be impossibly difficult for child me.
I could only beat Buggler about 6 years later, when I was 12 or 13, on an emulator. Fun memories! Genuinely scary boss fight for a child. (My siblings and I were also very afraid of the Pyramid and Crab bosses, lol)

That first one... The first couple phases were reused (at least partially) for the Mad Brain fight in Bomberman and Max 2, weren't they? Or it's at least a throwback/homage.

The problem is that Buggler *already* resurrected them once before Bomberman R. Bomberman R isn't "original" in plot. (I love that game anyways).
The Dastardly bombers appeared on Bomberman 2 for SNES, they were destroyed. Then Buggler came up and revived them on Bomberman 3. Then they were destroyed and we haven't seen them again until now, on bomberman R, where either: They were resurrected AGAIN, or it's a reboot of Bomberman 3.
(Though Pretty Bomber was also always a recurrent character in the bomberman universe.)

・【ぱにっくボンバー】（AC,PCE,SFC）、【ボンバーマンカートDX】での対決の動画が入っていないみたい。特にぱにボンW（SFC）ではスパボン3の直前でありつつも、初期の姿で登場というなかなか貴重な映像のようだ。
・【ボンバーマンポータブル】のラスボスは「ボンバーロボ」だけど、当然というべきかこれにもバグラーが乗っていた。入っていないのは、その姿が全く見えないせいか、それともBGMに似合わず展開がのろいからか……？ 北米版プレイ動画を見るに、ここでも本人は"Bagular"表記か……。
・【ボンバーマン'94】のときは、サウンドテストを見るに"Buglear"という英字表記だったようだ。直後の【ぱにっくボンバー】（AC）で"Bugler"だったあたり、まずカタカナで命名してから……？

Its surely something sad/creepy. If you win withouth the Rooey (the kangaroo) Bomberman will be happy but with him, he is worried. How the ending changes a bit always made me think.
Super Bomberman R at least has the decency to have an Expert Mode that makes the fight much harder.
