The Moonshiner’s howl getting the captive red wolves to respond makes me wonder if there are wild wolves that have been interacting with moonshiners for the last century.
Going into the woods and making howler noises to scare people off has to be the most scooby doo like thing I've ever heard. It seems art imitates life
Where do you think the idea of the show came from.
That’s one of the most red neck things one can do
Get the fuck away from my still.
best comment ever!
I thought the old moonshiner was shitfaced and/or goofy af when he gave his version of the howl.....
until the wolves all reacted and chimed in. DUDE!!! Coolest video EVER!!!!!!
That was obviously staged lol
@James Tyler perhaps but you have to admit that the wolves sound eerily similar to the noise the old man made
I laughed when the wolves responded to the Moonshine maker's howl. He's one of them
"your secret is safe with me".... post it up on the internet lol
As an Arkansan, I love to see segments like this done on the wildlife of our great country. Growing up in the woods we've always heard tales of creatures that howl in the night. Some folks understood it was partly people expanding on the legend of a real creature to protect their property/equipment. But it's awesome to see some science going into proving that tales of the Ozark Howler are real and go back to a creature as majestic, necessary, and primal as the Red Wolf.
Jeez Forrest galante makes me want to become a conservationist just to be able to interact with these people who enthusiastically try to keep these endangered species thriving the red wolfs howling at the moonshiners call gave me chills it’s so exciting
You should do it I think we can all do a little bit so good on you sir
Go for it mate, with zero experience, I’m now the founder of four Australian wildlife groups.
You can literally do “ANYTHING”.
Go for it.
You won’t regret it.
I was inspired by Steve Irwin when I was 10, and saw that same spark when I saw Forrest on Joe Rogan Experience and I decided to become King of Conservation, the greatest and freest conservationist of all with a reserve bigger than Cape Town and New York combine. It may not be a real title but I'm going to make it a real title!!!!❤💥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great to see the hospitality of this genuine man. Nothing could be better than saying hello to the local people. ❤❤
I’m the founder of four Australian wildlife groups, I’m definitely an expert of “Nothing” lol, but I love helping our wildlife, and helping others.
This is by far one of the “COOLEST” videos I’ve ever seen.
From the expression on Jess’ face, tasting the “LEMONADE” 😂 to the Wolves responding to the moonshiners call.
And obviously the crew getting tipsy 😂 Thank you so much, for making the perfect blend of Good Goosebump content.
I “THOROUGHLY” enjoyed watching this video, I’m still grinning like an absolute freak at my iPhone 7 🤣🤣🤣
You guys rock lol
I love how he just roasts his crew in the presence of a legend of a Man.
Omg her ONE EYED SQUINT at the moonshine was PRICELESS!! That’s the good stuff right there lol
A decent amount of older folks in the missouri Ozarks will still tell you that wolf's exist in the Ozarks, which isn't that surprising considering Missouri department of conservation denied mountain existence and claimed bears were incredibly rare in the area (which neither is true).
I am from missouri and I live very close to the ozarks. I hunt hike and fishing them. I have seen on two occasions wild red wolves in the ozarks mountains. Everyone says I'm full of it, but I'm well versed in canidid species, they're definitely reds!refs! And that's exactly the howl... They're still out here....
Great video! Love the ol timers! Now as one who lives in the boothills, I guarantee you there are things MUCH bigger and more mysterious than red wolves.. things that throw boulders, bend big cedar trees, and walks bipedal.
Hey, what about the Ozark Howler? All we're getting is a moonshiner and some wolves??
Amazing how many people don't even know this beautiful animal exists
I know there WERE red wolves at least in 80’s and 90’s in Cades Cove in Pigeon Forge, TN Smoky Mountains…
Secrets safe then precedes to give away the position
I love how understanding first is, the locals have so much knowledge and he understands that
That old shiner is the DOPE.
Secret is safe on youtube 😂
I’m 29 years old and live over 8 hours away from my family it’s just me and my two children. He reminds me of my neighbor he’s in his late 50s and he checks on me all the time as if I was his own family.
"Secret safe with us" , 🤫🤐😶
Dont show my location.
Proceeds to show where he is making his moonshine. Well done taking his little of life left
That place the middle of buttfuk no where. I aint hiking out there. Are you? 😂
@@hooverity well people obviously do otherwise he wouldn't be worried 😂
It's a fucking TV show. You really think the man with perfect teeth actually lives there?
7:19 getting rid of the sick and the weak. That hit home for me 😂
Yes we need these back in Missouri
Police caught these guy for sure lol
I would love to see these guys in my woods
A tent down by the river? At least it's not...A VAN...DOWN BY THE RIVER!
Yes! My grandpa would go out and scare city boys and poachers off his land by sneaking around their camps and making scary noises. He's lucky he didn't get shot. It did keep people off the land.
Wonder how the hangover was after that moonshine 😂
Dude took a couple of shots and kept working. He’s a G and his wife !
i legit thought the opening of this video was a modded RDR 2
I've had apple pie shine before, man it was good. That and a pizza the night before a FOP bass fishing tournament, was a lot of fun.
"Secret's safe with us... HEY RUclips, THIS GUY OVER HERE IS BREWING MOONSHINE! YOU SEE HIM?! RIGHT OVER HERE!"
As soon as he pulled out the pelt I knew it was a wolf/coyote
That wasn’t homemade moonshine. I could tell. the lab test was weak because we already knew it was a canine what we need to know if the DNA is a Red Wolf. This video was especially entertaining for misinformed people
"im glad you survived 😆"
Im a wild Red wolf photographer and conservationist. If youd like to see them in the wild and know whats really killing them.... Feel free to contact me. I also just woke up to them howling at 230 in the morning. l live half my life in a tent near the wolves.
This guy is awesome I want to meet him so bad
Your secrets safe with us…😂
Just saying that skull and pelt even kept in truck from the 20s would look alot older than that
Shit! I want some of that mans moonshine.
Just finished Expidition X's episode on the Ozark Howler and while their call capture sound a little different, I could see it being one of these maybe doing like a short howl a few times.
When in doubt find a moonshiner
I’ve seen a wild red wolf in parker county and my friend saw a pair about 10 miles away. It’s near a creek.
There’s a breeding program at fossil rim in Somerville county
Love how this all played out like a skyrim quest
That's a coyote pelt. Could be a red wolf? Looks like the common coyotes in the Missouri and Arkansas Ozarks.
Love Forest, so I don't want to be shitting on anyone, but how did Andy need to go hear a wolf howl to know what a wolf howl sounds like? Like they sounded normal. You're telling me the guy had no idea what he heard was a wolf?
I have seen on of those in Missouri
"Bob..is that you?"
beautiful wolves
Wild episode
Are there any actual alleged Ozark howler recordings? I can’t find a single one not one anywhere of anyone even claiming they’ve got one, not even as a prank. Search pollution has become so horribly bogged down.
My buddy caught a collard red wolf in a foothold trap in FarmVille nc!
So what was it?
Maybe the old man isn't telling. That pelt is obviously nothing close to the descriptions of people who have seen these things close up and personal. Red wolves are smaller wolves that resemble coyotes. They don't have long black hair or walk on their hind legs, to my knowledge.
Might as well sample the product, we'll ok then let's drink
Talladega county Alabama, I'm quite sure they are here
That old man is my hero
That was low-key fake when they went up to the guy’s house…and he’s like “what are you doing here?!” Then “guys, cameras off!” Cause he’s making moonshine. Yeah, idk about all that. Sounded pretty scripted.
Solved everything in 30 seconds lol
I may be wrong and will look into it better but I thought most all animal hair had a medulla? Making it a fur rather then hair. Stiffer.
That's the Ozark Howler. It is a Red Wolf.
Timber wolves have been cross breeding with coyotes in the Midwest for over 200 years.. I shot a coyowolf on my 25 acres of property just east of Denver and it was enormous.. 110lbs and a massive set of teeth to boot 😅🐺
Not a chance in hell that skull and pelt were 100 years old
I know people that say they have seen them here is south Carolina
City people. We in the country hear that howl every nite.
Despite being scripted, still entertaining.
I believe we still have them in Nebraska on the Missouri River but these guys just say there wierd looking coyotes and keep shooting them
The ultimate Brologist! Check out his podcast “The Wild Times”
These animals are still in the Ozarks.
Doesn’t North Carolina have the red wolf in alligator river
Why do they have to script shows about people actually trying to find stuff? Makes it all feel fake
Those red wolves look like the coyotes here in West Virginia
Farest Galateantei
Definitely still have red wolves in east texas
I seen one in Virginia
We need apex predators and the predators down the food chain
No one believes me I SAW A RED WOLF I've seen coyotes and I've seen normal wolves I've seen foxes. This was none of those the only thing I have seen that looks like it is a red wolf. They aren't extinct they're just hiding in the Appalachians.
It is a red wolf. When the population dropped, they start howling at night to find one another
Absolutely beautiful animals.I would love to see a wolf in its real habitat in the wild but fromy a good distance lol.
Now ya gone stuck him on RUclips FFS 😆😆💯🥶
Secret save with us💀

There's no such thing as being a expert.
American red wolf ? That coat is not even slightly red.
I really hope no one goes lookin for that man. He seems like a good dude, leave him be lol.
So sorry it's Adrian again, I also wanted to tell you here in Talladega county Alabama we have so many reptiles of every description turtles frogs snakes lizard skinks salamander and I thought I saw a very large one it calls me to jump back bright blue or green and it look like a mouse that uncovered now and I was probably seeing things but I was near swamp swampy area anyway it does fascinate me the amount of things that are living out here still as I am from a small City in which 8 lb animals were going missing and I was trying to explain that the pair red tail hawks above their head and they all we're probably getting them but they insisted they were coyotes there were not any coyotes in Birmingham AL
It look like a mouth it's what I was trying to say
Omg it's just a coyote
This is fuckin cool
Moonshiners exist this deep into the 21st century?
Yes definitely, it's not legal which let's you know people are definitely doing it lol
@@daddyethan why is alcohol making not legal ?
@@Snp2024because the government collects a large amount of taxes on it. If you make it yourself, the government loses out.
they problem is that most of red wolves useed to restore the population have been found to be crossbred with coyote
They gone be drunk as shit,!
We must of had most of our elk in Idaho sick and old.
That was the fakest of fakes I have seen on "reality" TV.
The cranky moonshiner trope... that turns into the happy hillbilly trope... the trickery and foreshadowing of the moonshiner's Ozark howl vs. the recorded Red Wolf howl.
Wow! I have a pelt... wow, I have a skull... wow, I can perform on demand.
This episode would be entertaining for children... not adults.
Well I really just wanted to know if that was woodpeckers that I saw an hour and your comment that I made the redhead maid a creamy white chest white tail feathers dark wings
Woo Pig Sooie!!!
lol lol
I was getting a single wolf warning because I had to walk to the store and I would go past where she was dendup off the side of the road in the country so she would give me a wuff, and it was very low just directed at me as she was familiar with me and she just wanted to warn me that she was there that was her place and yeah she was running with a large shaggy white beautiful male he had gotten hit by a car and killed on the highway
Hope they never catch this amazing man.. let him keep making his moonshine lol
