Noah’s hate for Liam killed me the second episode 😭😂😂😂
I hated Liam for a while but him and Kenneth became two of my favourite characters by the end .
Sorry, must vent a little on this Liam guy.
I'm a first time viewer, so I'll be amazed to see how the hell they make him likeable. He's like a 'village idiot,' just sort of allowed to exist, looked after. I guess I can imagine someone finding it funny, but it sounds a little like laughter of derision, which is kind of in poor taste. "Oh look at this guy who can't function in society..." Either that or it's supposed to be 'endearing.' Maybe if he was a real person I'd cringe a little less, but I can't get past the fact that somebody conceived of this guy as a character, somebody portrayed him, there was an audition process and a read-through.
Jake Canuso(Matteo) already knew Bananarama from his days as one of their backing dancers so i presume he asked them if they wanted to do a little cameo role.
Yeah, this storyline with Donald becomes quite awkward as his actor died of cancer a few years later.
A lot of people dislike Liam at the start, I remember bxkid7 felt the same as you. Hated him. I know you won't believe me now, but you will learn to love him as much as bxkid7 eventually did. Became one of his favourite characters. He grows on you. Look forward to a lot of character growth.
👆 this. Personally I thought the show got funnier. Having watched the show after it finished I wasn’t as invested in the original cast. Embrace the change lol
Not ashamed to admit I let out a screech of joy when I saw a double header😭 I know it’s like a broken record at the moment with everyone saying it but I promise Liam has such amazing character development
Johnny Neptune reminds me of terry silver from cobra kai.
Love Bananarama, one of my favourites since I was a kid, and they're still making great dance pop albums (think Lady Gaga but classier and less in-your-face) to this day!
The joke about one of them being married to George Michael is because Keren is married to Andrew Ridgeley, the other member of Wham :)
Its clear the show has lost some spark, but it is still having its good moments.
I think the show is missing Martin & The Oracle just as much as its missing Mel. I fear as we lose the original regulars season by season with replacements its going to be a disaster
Not gonna spoil anything, but I’ve seen the whole show, and it’s arguable that it gets worse but it’s not drastic. And this may shock you, but Liam ends up being such a great character

The show never hits the highs of the early seasons, but its still a fun show all the way through
irl when my mother and law dies we where on a train headed to balloch, i remember that day as if it was yesterday, very sad .. i feel for that character

I agree this is Liam’s lowest point. He’s so bad. But when the characters start coming and going and he’s one of the few left and by then he isn’t bad
There should only be 1 episode left so I’m not sure what the last one you have is, maybe the first ep of Series 5?
I checked it and turns out it was an extra copy of the Christmas Special labeled Series 4 Episode 7 for some reason.

Ive wondered that too but I imagine it'll probably be April now, sure Noah has a lot to fit in and may be overrunning this month and bleed some reactions into early April, the full season 4 of Doctor Who is on the horizon too, that'll take up a lot of time...... (not a pun)

It's the opinion of most, myself included, that this show has a distinctly downward trajectory. The only argument is when it really becomes too much to bear.
Personally, I think series 6 is where the quality falls off the cliff, and judging by the viewing figures, I'm not alone. Tired character tropes, lazy scripts, uninspiring performances and barrel-scraping cameos from actors you thought had died years ago.
But it's from season 8 onwards that you have to question your own self-respect for giving it the time of day. Symptomatic of the lack of ideas, Mateo has been reduced to a one-dimensional, dead-eyed "Johnny Foreigner" type, with humour now derived only from his poor grasp of English, like a monotone version of Fawlty Towers' Manuel, and without the physical humour or humorous situations.
New arrival Joey Ellis is the worst though, the classic stupid character, taken to the extreme, and executed with no skill or creativity whatsoever on the part of the scriptwriter. It's literally like they farmed out the job to a ten-year-old. You can see every punchline coming a mile off, hoping against hope that you're wrong, always to be disappointed. Honestly, you'll find funnier, fresher, and less corny jokes buried under Tim Vine's patio.
I wanted to put my foot through the TV and send Derren Litten the bill the first (and last) time I saw it. I'm afraid it was a case of patience depleted, anger heated, vid deleted, TV yeeted, remains concreted.
Anyway, that's just me. Maybe you'll like it. I'll do my best to watch if only out of grim, morbid curiosity.

You should be a professional critic considering how much effort you put into a review about Benidorm of all things lmao but in all seriousness I can’t remember how many series there are after Joey comes in but by far and away is he an awful character

Yup the Liam character is an example of how the show goes on from here…. and I’d say at least this season is still watchable. It does get worst imo 😄can’t beat the first three series 💪🏻
