They started their careers by being a Karaoke bars/ Comedy bars hosts or MC's that proliferate in the Philippines. Being exceptional may end you up being in Showbiz. They chose or stuck to being singer comedians simply bcoz the abundance of musical talents ( Singers ) especially predominate the mainstream. Excellence Overflow😉
she was a former member of GALDYS AND THE BOXERS BAND in the early 2000s she is a SINGER! and most standup commedians must be great singers as a requirement. VG mentioned this with her in Showtime.
comedians and singers have concerts together. k brosas and angeline quinto had a concert together. vice ganda (a popular comedian) and regine velasquez had a concert together too.
You should have reacted to her performance of a Million Years also on Wish Bus. That was a truly serious, dramatic performance.

Yes, it would be a 'PLUS' if a comedian or an actress can sing as well. K Brosas is one of them. She's a natural comic but can sing, too. Whenever she performs abroad, especially to Filipino communities, she gets a lot of fluidity and delivers well her comic and fun jokes as she connects thru her songs too. Such a talented artist!

Almost all comedians in Philippines are very good singers. It's one of the prerequisites of being a comedian in the Philippines specially for standup comedians. Actually Regine's husband Ogie Alcasid is also a famous comedian who can sing very well.

listening to your reaction I realized that in the Philippines most of the comedians actually have a singing section in their act when i use to go to comedy bars

Most of them previously sings and performs in a comedy bars here the Philippines.
We use to catch her group/bands performance when we go to bars/clubs. The groups name was Glady's & the Boxers, when Glady's left it became K & the Boxers. I know her as a singer first before a comedian. She's really a good singer & performer.

She was a 2nd lead vocalist of the band Gladys and the Boxers. When Gladys Guevarra (which is also a comedian) goes solo with her career as a host and comedienne she took the main vocal positions of the reformated group called K and the Boxers. They do gigs on different bars until she was also discovered as comedienne and now a noontime showhost.
I wish you could find the time to watch K Brosas together with other artists you already know as they were challenged by comedian/host Vice Ganda in Tawag ng Tanghalan to sing their own version of a piece sang by one contender. It was an on-the-spot setup and they did really well! 😅

Basically, for a comedian to succeed in the Philippines, it’s not enough to just be humorous. Most successful comedians usually have a gimmick, many are good singers, some are really good dancers, and some are comedic actors.

When you hear "within" the song that it changes it's key then that's it, while if you change the key at the start for example to sing based on your range that you want to lower the entire key of the song cause your voice is low, then it's called "transposition"😊.
