How to Get THIS Lean (YEAR ROUND!)

  • If you want to get a lean, ripped body and keep it year round you are going to want to watch this video where I share how I do it. Be forewarned, there are no secret shortcuts or gimmicks to doing this. As a matter of fact, there are many sacrifices that have to be made in order to get to an ultra lean body fat level and you will have to ask yourself whether it is worth it to you to proceed. That said, here are the major components of how I do this year round.
    60% off all AX programs - athleanx.com/x/...
Subscribe to this channel here - / jdcav24
First, I believe it’s important to discuss when you are deciding to first make this your goal to be lean and ripped. If you are doing this for the first time in your life in your late thirties or even older, it is going to be much more difficult to achieve ultra lean levels of body fat than had you started training and watching your nutrition in your teens or twenties.
This is mostly due to the habits that are required to maintain the discipline to get this ripped as well as the fact that hormonally you are providing an opportunity to improve an already impressive body comp the more lean and muscled you are as opposed to someone who has much higher levels of body fat and lower levels of lean mass.
That said, there is no reason to be discouraged about starting at any age. You can look absolutely amazing no matter where you start from and it takes a dedication to the following main areas when you do decide to start.
We first start with nutrition. As a matter of fact, your diet or how you eat is going to be the absolute most important part of how lean you look. There is nothing that can overcome a bad diet when it comes to getting ripped (even cardio as we’ll talk about in a second). When it comes to nutrition many will opt to be exclusionary to either fat or carbohydrates in their pursuit of leanness. I think that this is a long term mistake.
It is never a good idea to adopt an eating style that requires you to eliminate or drastically cut down one of the three main macronutrients from your diet. Instead, it is much healthier and successful long term to consume all three but to make wiser food choices from within the categories. I share in the video some of the repercussions I faced early on from being exclusionary when it came to dietary fats in my eating plan.
When it comes to training, there is no truth to the myth that you should train with light weights and high reps to get ripped. As a matter of fact, you can actually build muscle using light weights if you do it properly and it’s something that you want to make sure that you do along with lifting heavy weights and training to eccentric failure. It’s not a choice of one over the others. Your job, when you are trying to get ripped and lean, is to train with all of the options in your arsenal to build as much lean body mass as possible knowing that it is going to help you long term to maintain very low levels of body fat.
Other things I do are I take my supplementation seriously and aim to provide my muscles with the highest quality ingredients at the times that are most likely to satisfy their needs. The ATHLEAN-Rx supplements are heavily relied on here as well as some one off vitamins like green tea extract or raw foods like ginger and cinnamon.
Sacrifices, as mentioned earlier, are going to have to be made however if you want to achieve this level of leanness and maintain it all year. I for instance, do not partake in drinking alcohol or eating sweets (but for one or two times a year). Is this a requirement for you to look lean and muscular? Not at all, however to maintain very low levels of body fat you will likely have to forego some of your current habits and that may not be something you want to do.
Ultimately, the choice is yours. I just wanted to be able to share with you the process I go through and that helps me to maintain my leanness well into my forties and beyond. If you are looking for a step by step meal plan and workout plan that will help you to follow the same thing I do to get this lean and stay this lean year round, you can find all of our plans at athleanx.com via the link below. Start training and eating like an athlete and you’ll be amazed at how quickly you can change the entire look of your body.

    • @jackal7905
      @jackal7905 4 года назад +20

@@pawel6661 But as a kick-start, I'll tell you my case. I started by going low fat. Felt awesome at the beginning. Then I felt the urge to eat every two to three hours, if I don't, I get moody, agressive and irritated. Then I went low carb (20g per day), felt like shit, moody, irritated, couldn't sleep well, dehydrated all the time. I tried each for a week, with a day of fasting in the middle to "restart my body". I found out that I love the deadly combo (fats + carbs), but I also found out that I love fats a bit more than carbs. So I started increasing my carbs little by little until I reached a zone where everything felt comfortable. Full, energetic, no hunger pangs. This zone is 50g of NET carbs, I don't count fiber, and the rest was fat. (protein was fixed at 35% of my calories all the time). Now 50g doesn't sound that much, in order to be happy, I chose my favorite carb sources: potatoes (around 20g of carbs per potato) which is like.. One medium potato, which is a good portion, dates (5g of carbs per date, I have 3 in the morning), bread (Usually I eat white bread but I made a healthier choice by choosing rye bread) which is 15g of carbs per slice. And I just alternate according to what I want to eat! One day I'd eat 2 potatoes, another I'd eat 3 slices of bread, another I'd eat 2 slices of bread and 3 dates, heck, I'd just eat whatever HEALTHY carb I want in the limited boundary, with all the satisfying butter and cream and cheese and of course the usual protein. I also aim to eat them in the morning so that they get burned off, sometimes I divide it on my 3 meals, sometimes I'd eat half in the morning half in the evening. Sometimes I replace potatoes with turnips or pumpkin which gives the same satisfying texture for less carbs so I can have more carbs later (or earlier). And not because it's 50g of carbs for me, it needs to be 50g of carbs for you as well. It's just that for me, those extra slices of cheese satisfy me more than that extra piece of bread. I can replace the rice with cauliflower rice if I wanna eat potatoes later and still drizzle butter all over it. I can substitute the tortilla with an egg and 20 grams of oat flour in to get a similar texture with less carbs. Just work your way around it. And don't give in to temptations. I found out that when I reach my carb limit for the day, I don't really wanna eat more while I still have around 50g of fats left. So I'd be in a caloric deficit unintentionally. Wanna also know some foods that help? Pumpkin seeds (pepitas), raw cacao powder (dem fibers will fill you up, mixed with my protein shake and some heavy cream) you got yourself a cookies N cream shake at night, or morning, or as a snack. It really depends on why do you consume that "carb". Is it for texture? Find a substitute, is it for its taste? Eat it! Don't restrict yourself from what you love to eat and control the portion. Sometimes I wanna eat a ton of potatoes! I mix one potato with two turnips or some pumpkin. Again, this is just an example.

Jeff is like any top level athlete, be it basketball, baseball, football, soccer etc. who train year round to play at those highly required levels. That is how you become the best of the best. It takes an incredible amount of sacrifice and dedication to your sport, training and eating and that is why most people are in the stands and not on the field.
The average person however can remain fit for their whole life by adapting regime of eating balanced diet and limiting excessive calories but the other necessity is to remain active every single day. Have your activity of choice but keep doing it.
I’m 64 6 ft. 195 lbs. keeping a steady high school weight by eating normal foods and resistance training every second day for an hour along with regular walks daily. Nothing fancy in dieting or training but consistency gets you to your goals.

I was 27 got to 5.8 % , ran around 15k each week, working out at the gym 2 hours everyday 6 times a week. Eating a diet of rice and white meat mostly hardly any sugars . I initially started this to lose weight to gain lean muscle and gradually build up over time muscle. I was a total amateur to working out and had no planned diet. Cutting out a lot of fat and sugar.
I lost a proportionally good amount of weight and built muscle within a couple of months. But trying to keep the same routine and gain muscle started to take it's toll.
I started to become very lethargic, struggled with migraines due to being photosensitive (like jeff). Easily irritable that effected my mental health at the time and my sex drive was non existent . The continuation from looking lean and healthy began and continuing to go harder with the routins wore me out where I no longer had that energy reserve, i looked like someone with a drug problem. I started to do more research, reduce my routine and eat more to which I was able to feel and look more healthier, I had more energy, I gained more muscle mass and was able to eat a diet I enjoyed while still keeping toned.
Do your research and don't overdo it, I saw the number as a goal to reach but it made me feel like shit.

Marcos Davi just because you can’t get to Jeff’s levels of body fat using a diet that’s unsustainable doesn’t mean that Jeff can’t do it naturally. It all comes down to genetics, and consistency. I don’t know how long you’ve been on your 1000 calorie diet, but I can guarantee that it couldn’t have been longer than a year because that kind of calorie deficit just isn’t sustainable long-term no matter how mentally strong you are or how little you enjoy food. Jeff’s been working hard for his body for decades. I’m not saying that it’s 100% guaranteed that he’s natural, but it’s definitely possible and I would give him the benefit of the doubt.

Jeff is such a huge motivation to me, as an asthmatic. It really sucks doing cardio for me, it always has. I wasnt a kid who played sports, I was a kid who stayed inside, played computer games and watched anime. Training now, I never grew out of that asthma like soo many doctors said I would. I am conditioning my body to act up less but I still dont do much cardio, I do HIIT every other day and weights on the other days. I've lost about 4% body fat with not much cardio, literally just lifting weights, the HIIT stuff is a new thing I've incorporated. It really is possible to lose body fat without cardio, but like Jeff said, nutrition is such a HUGE part of it. Good luck to everyone out there trying to achieve their goals.
