    agreed. for guys like me that have been flying DJI/digital for sometime and are new to FPV, the ability to see details with the goggles in addition to high quality HD/dvr camera platform is a big step forward and will bring more people into the sport. Hopefully, this will be a wake up call for the early adopter legacy/analog developers/companies and the future will bring new and innovative products to choose.

    Great review. Definitely share your enthusiasm for HD FPV! It's game changing. Waiting for this quad to arrive. One thing I was disappointed with is that GEPRC currently only sells it with either DJI RC controls or CRSF. Would have been nice to have FrSky as I wasnt ready to switch to CRSF yet.. but long range wont hurt I guess... except for my wallet haha
    I was hesitating between the Mark 4 and the DC5. Glad you compared. I'm a long time user of GEPRC products and always been satisfied so I went with the Mark 4 but really was hoping for a full on freestyle quad instead, with aluminium front end like the Elegant or the Marmotte. I guess I'll have to wait a little bit longer.

      Easy to wire into the batt lead. Cut the wire back some. Tin a spot on the wire. Get it nice and thick. Lay the capacitor - side in the solder. Then do the + side. Cover with some liquid electric tape.

    • @ianozborne1555
      @ianozborne1555 4 года назад +1

      thehyperspeed assuming you understand you need to have the dji digital fpv goggles, all you’ll need after that is a receiver and transmitter, I recommend the nicest frsky pair you can afford, something like a qx7 along with an rxsr will work just fine.

    • @thehyperspeed
      @thehyperspeed 4 года назад

      @@ianozborne1555 I see, if I'm just want to fly a basic quad to learn what do you suggest. Mark 4 or just mark3

    • @ianozborne1555
      @ianozborne1555 4 года назад +1

      thehyperspeed I’m not sure what you mean by mark 3 or 4, but if you never want to fly analog, only digital, you could also get the dji controller, then you wouldn’t have to get a receiver or transmitter, as it all works in unison. However, if you do this, and you want to end up racing or using analog, you’ll have to end up buying a new radio. If I’m being honest, unless you never want to deal with analog and you’ll be in the hobby for the long run, analog is currently the fastest and cheapest way to learn. That said, digital fpv is groundbreaking and currently the best, so at this point you’ll have to choose between the two, based on whether or not you think you’d like to continue in the hobby. You could also get a sim such as drl sim, on steam, and learn how to fly that way. That would be the best budget way to learn how to fly, allowing you to practice and improve and also decide whether or not you’d like to continue with fpv. If you do the simulator then there’s honestly no reason not to choose digital, as it’s superior in all aspects, just slightly more latency, which only affects hardcore racers. It’s a lot of info to take in I know, but just keep watching RUclips, and do some research, it’s an expensive hobby to just kinda jump in to, which is why everyone recommends analog, as it’s cheaper. So, say you buy a qx7, learn how to use it and connect it to the sim on your computer, and learn to fly. At that point, you can them choose whether you want to go analog or digital. If you choose analog, it’ll be less quality, and I would argue more expensive over the long term, however there are many more products and options. Should you choose digital, the upfront cost will be much higher, and there are currently many less products on the market for beginners, but the system is ultimately superior, and will do nothing but grow. Not sure if I’m helping or just rambling but from personal research and experience that’s my opinion, hope I helped

    • @thehyperspeed
      @thehyperspeed 4 года назад

      @@ianozborne1555 wow thanks for a lot of input. I will learn with analog first because I don't want to spent more for the first time, I need to learn first as I do with DJI drones. learn with Mavic air and now using Mavic 2pro.

    • @ianozborne1555
      @ianozborne1555 4 года назад +1

      thehyperspeed for sure, and also when you go for analog stuff, getting a $20 drone simulator on the computer, like drl sim or liftoff, will save you soooo much money and make you a much better pilot starting out, you will learn how to fly in acro mode, without any self leveling or gps or anything like that, and then once you go out and fly your first fpv drone in acro mode it’ll be much much easier and you’ll avoid a lot of expensive crashes

    6:36 - looks like if you land in the wet grass you're going to have a massive ESC short out and FET explosion fire with those bottom ESC pads exposed and hanging out the side. Maybe a cut to fit strip of black electrical tape suck on those to cover them up at least from the bottom before you roman candle your $400 quad.
    Add in the goggles and controller and battery and chargers and you're easily talking $1500+ :-/ You could buy a used flying ultralight airplane for that so you have to wonder... is it worth it for such an expensive little toy? Maybe a bit too much markup on stuff that is just plastics, electronics, and little electric motors....
