    Stark AI is pretty insane considering how it pretty much automates so many things in the suit. Considering that it took Otto building 4 independent AI to control the arms, it says a lot when Starktech can not only override all 4 AIs at once, but also control them all without interrupting its own services.

    • @xrstevenson
      @xrstevenson Год назад +118

      There's also the era of technology that was limiting Doc Ock's potential. If Spider-Man 2 happened in modern times, Otto would be right on the money with most of his projects. But here's a secret to AI: there hasn't been many breakthroughs in the last 12 years, only minor improvements.

    • @shirosaki97

      Oc's tech is basically ancient at the time of this movie when compared to Stark's tech, it's impressive, esecially since Octavius did what Stark did with significantly less funding (Tony for the most part practically owned Stark industries after Iron Man 1 while Otto was receiving funding from Oscorp, who while very advanced and rich in their own right, doesn't have shit on Stark Industries when it comes to mechanical engineering and AI tech. It makes sense for technology invented by the guy who made Ultron of all things to overtake older, malfunctioning AI made by a single, albeit genius, scientist.

    The fact that Doc Ock was able to stand his ground against the Iron Spider suit, which houses some of the best inventions from Tony Stark, really shows that Otto was most definitely ahead of his time in the Raimi-verse as opposed to Tony in the MCU.
    Think about it: Otto Octavius made his mechanical arms with nanowires (obviously an ancestor of sorts to the modern nanotech) in 2004. The Iron Spider was probably made by Tony in 2016, just after recruiting Peter (Tom Holland's Peter) around the time of *_Civil War_* though Peter didn't actually first use it until 2018 in *_Infinity War_* against Thanos. So Otto was ahead of Tony by about 12 years despite them being in different universes.

      Concrete is strong in compression while weak in tension; if you look where Doc’s arm is mostly positioned it’s on top of the barrier rather than on the side, meaning the weight being distributed is compressing in to the concrete rather than away (which would be tensile). So theoretically the barrier could possibly resist being crushed. Who knows if the cgi animators considered this or not though.

      A good metaphor would be to say that the nano machines have doc ocks tentacles in full body handcuffs. If you were in handcuffs, you wouldn’t be able to move about freely, but you could still talk. If you want to say well, why does doc ock tell the tentacles to listen to him, I imagine that is a shortcut made by the people who made the movie in order to get across to the audience quickly that doc ock is no longer in control of his tentacles. Maybe it was a bad line, and it’s totally reasonable for anyone to call that line out. But I feel like the writers or whoever were just trying to take a short cut and show the Audience what was happening as quickly as possible.

    Wait a minute. Otto was evil only because the arms’ AI got a Will of its own after the inhibitor chip was destroyed, and corrupted his mind. But Peter took control of the arms, meaning the AI can’t control them anymore. So why is Otto still evil? “Don’t listen to him, listen to me!” implies Otto was in control of the arms, but in SM2 it was “listen to me now!” IE Otto finally overthrew the AI that was controlling him.

      It’s hard to tell, the ai override probably just made them unable to attack but they could still “think” since they are intelligent and somewhat actually sentient when you watch how they move and communicate and delegate tasks for each arm. Maybe they can’t attack but they are still aware of this fact, so they still have a hold on Otto’s mind.

I wasn't expecting the Other Peters in this. But when I realized that the villians that the Peters faced back in the early 2000s and 2010s. I knew when the Other Peters stepped out of the port at Ned and MJ's house. You gotta admit, the crowd was into this and even myself. The Fans went wild when Tobey returned, When I was in the theaters. I felt like I was back in 2002 all over again. 5th Grade, 11 years old at the Royal Cinemas seeing this movie with my Late Grandma who god rest her soul died in 2020 when the Pandemic started, but luckily she didn't die of it. And now here I am 30 years old seeing No Way Home and seeing Tobey and Andrew with Tom proved that they definitely still got it. It's like when a wrestling legend after being away from so long returns to the ring and he gets the fans saying "You Still Got It". And in that movie, they still got it. After all these wars the Peters had before the other Peter came along. They proved they could have one more run with their old school rivals. The ending was just like Endgame seeing them disappear completely after Dr. Strange wiped their memory and even wiped Peter's memory with his girlfriend and best friend. But what The other Peter said in the Spiderman 2 2004 Movie to MJ "Spiderman will always have enemies". The question lies in the next Spiderman Marvel Movie, does MJ face Spiderman's Enemies with him. Or does he go it alone?. Only time will tell!.

    7:03 I absolutely adore how there’s clearly some of Tony Stark’s personality and influence coming through in Peter here.
    If there was ever any doubt that Tony was like a father figure to Tom before; this scene should squash that doubt. And seeing as he died almost in Peters arms, an argument could be made that Tony’s death was kind of like this universes “Uncle Ben” moment

    The difference between the MCU spider man villains amd the Original gangsters is that they were regular people with suits and tech. But villains like Otto, Giblin, Sandman, Electro, and Lizard, their powers come from accidents or failed experiments that changed them physically and mentally, something Hollands Spider Man has ever faced before aside from Thanos. This, this shows Peter what it really means to be Spider Man even at the end of the film😢😢😢😢
