So basically marketing is finding new ways to gain more customers and advertise your product correct p.s you just got one more sub
Pretty much! You've hit the nail on the head - and thank you! xx
Yes that's part of it. Another part of the journey is retention ie KEEPING your customers by making sure that you communicate relevant offers and understand their behaviours. Bear in my mind regular customers tend to spend more to retention for many companies is a bigger priority that acquisition.
What's the purpose og marketing?
Memes have become a great marketing strategy in this day and age... hmmmm
Patrick Agustin they have
This video is so useful especially since I am beginning a career in marketing.
Ahh that's great! So pleased for you and that this came at just the right time xxx
IBeBrizy so glad you found it useful! And all the best as you embark on your career xx
Have you finished your career? Would you recommend it?
You are very beautiful. And It is quite distracting for me. :) Carry on tho. 👌😁
I love the mix in marketing of creative and analytical. You have to be able to understand the data AND make great ads. Lots of hats. I’m so happy that THIS field is the thing I’m really good at haha
Glad for you too! Definitely a balanced mix of different skills/activity
Part of the challenge, especially when you are new to business, is filtering out all the noise and concentrate on what will give your customers a great experience with your product and/or service. Plus, what tools are the best for your particular business. Having a strategy when you first start out is advisable. Great tips as always. Cheers
im looking into fashion and tourism marketing. any advise?
Roma Augustin my top piece of advise is to get as much work experience (paid or voluntary if need be) as you can xx
It's not really a concept but if you could talk a bit more about being in university and the best way to plan for a career in marketing
Hi Abena! Great idea and will definitely add that to my list xxx
I'm a sophomore in college and was considering Marketing as my major. Luckily, I had the opportunity to work with a Marketing Research and Consulting Firm and was able to realize how much I dislike this career. Anything that involves research as the main task makes me feel miserable. Great video btw it was very well explained!!
Thank you for watching!
Wow! I also think that I will dislake researching but I thought that I shouldnt say no to a career only because i dont like one or two aspects about it, now i am confused. May I ask what is your major now?
emma emma Sure! I am now a senior graduating this December & decided to go for Business Management/Entrepreneurship. Anything that involves projects, planning & helping execute a business to profit growth is what keeps me going. And also love that this career is not mainly an office job sitting all day :)
I love your Marketing 101 videos, they have been so interesting to listen to as I do daily errands around the house!
I am currently trying to better understand the role of a Marketing Manager, especially in the Digital Marketing World. If you have any explanations, tips and insight on the role... I am your number 1 listener :) !
Then you'll love Sunday's video! It's a Q&A of all the questions I've been asked on the topic. Thank you so much for watching :) xx
Look forward to following up on Sunday beautiful! 😘
Social media marketing... Speak to this concept
Noted!
I love trying to sell products and convincing/persuading etc- that’s why I’m choosing marketing over business management
Thanks a bunch for this video! Just landed a job in the marketing industry and I'm soaking in all the advice I can get. Great video :)
Awww fantastic - congratulations. I've got a whole playlist if you wanna check it out xxx
Great video! Your clarity explaining what Marketing is was amazing! Your video really help me with my decision on pursuing marketing.
Hi! Wow! great topic idea! definitely going to follow! I am so interested in marketing but also feel like there is so much to learn and I find 100% interesting that marketing is not purely factual but is almost an art..its both...there are so many POV so yeah! I am definitely going to follow this
This was very helpful, thank you! New sub right here!
Thank you for this video. It has helped me understand what marketing is.
I'm so glad! Thanks for watching :)
I just went to a career fair at my local college and I was curious as to what a marketing company does and what marketing really is. The guy at the booth had nobody there except himself so I walked up to start a friendly conversation with him about what he and his company does and really what marketing is. I asked him what he was here to promote and what he had to offer. he threw the question back and said what did I have to offer him. and i said essentially i was curious as to what marketing was and wanted to really just start a conversation since he had no one at his booth. he said marketing is only sales and sales is marketing. even though I know nothing about marketing when he said that it felt hollow and cold. i believe marketing is much more than just sales and if that's what he was "marketing" he was doing a terrible job. after he said if I was interested I could take a flyer. i politely said thanks for your time, shook his hand and left without one of his flyers. is this really all marketing is about??
Hey Ross. So sorry you had a not so positive experience. Check out the rest of my playlist which should hopefully shed some more light for you.
@@NodreenK Thank you! I'm in the process of building my own website and wanted to seek insight. As I build my site more and more I realize how important marketing is. Your videos are very professional and well made! I'm subscribed!
Hey can i tell you?
Marketing is not all about Sales, it's just a small part of Marketing.
Marketing is about promoting a business, their products/services. And yeah these products which we use on daily basis like soaps, cold drinks for example Pepsi, Shampoos etc, these products are innovated by Marketing or Brand Managers. These managers innovate the idea of making Products which help or entertain consumers in future. For example dandruff free shampoo Head n Shoulders. This product had been launched by P&G a big FMCG company. They Innovate it and launched it to help people get rid of dandruff. Basically marketing managers innovate an idea to help consumers, society. This is the best thing about marketing career that you innovate and launch a product in market and your product make an impact to the society and you see results so fastly specially if you are in FMCG company like P&G, Unilever, Nestle, Lo'real Paris etc.
Marketing is also about to grow someone's Business by your tactics and strategies. Marketing is also about Brand Management which is so creative i mean, you are in charge of a brand of the company. You have responsibility to help that Brand's Products to grow in market, means to make that product beautiful, attractive towards customers. Psychology is highly applied that how to attract people towards your brand. And also Design skills, you have to design the packaging, manage that packaging to make it looks good that consumers specially targeted audience buy it and have a believe on it.
Hope this will help you understanding Marketing more.
This video and it’s first analogy of being single 🌚 was perfect for me. Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing this! My RUclips and other platforms were growing great on their own, but now with all these site changes, I need to learn more about marketing for myself and not just letting the numbers grow on their own! :)
This was extremely helpful. I know you didn't go into much, but this was what i needed. Thank you❤
Glad it was helpful! Always here if you have any other questions xx
I love this! Very in depth perspective of the marketing industry and not your own personal opinion about it.
Could you speak about SEO?
Definitely will do - you're actually the second person to request this topic so I guess you guys really wanna hear about it lol
Yes! SEO is a part of marketing. Would you agree? Nice video, by the way! :)
Thank you very much for sharing this information with us. Your very beautiful as well. It was hard to stay tuned in by your beauty of distraction. Great job
Haha well thanks for watching and glad you found the content useful!
Wow!
I just bumped into Style with Substance for the first time and I think am already addicted.

Thank you so much for watching! xxx
heyyy. very nice video. great stuff. i have just moved to the uk and was wondering if employers would acknowledge my previous marketing experience from another country or i will only be offered a job on a lower rank. i was working as a senior marketing executive on my last position. Thanks !
I think they absolutely should and in most cases would!
Thanks :)
Can being a marketer be stressful. And i've heard college courses are outdated to learn marketing. Can you learn digital marketing on your own online and still have the skills and requirements employers are looking for?
I think any job (marketing included) can be stressful at some levels. You can certainly do online courses to pick up skills but in all honesty most employers favour experience e.g. internships/apprenticeships over anything xx
But those internships want you to have qualifications like 1 year of experience and be between ages 18-21. Are you still currently doing marketing and is it what you'd expect it to be?
I’m now seeing your video apologizes for my for tardiness lol this is a beautiful piece you out together thank so much. Very informative. I’m actually studying computer networking right now and at the same time I’m researching different ways and options that’s available to combine with all that I’m learning. For example I’m a superior sports head. I eat sleep and breath the stuff. So I’m like ok perhaps there’s some franchise out there like the NY Giants who’s looking for support with internet security for their company website. Feel me? So I’ve recently been very intrigued with the field of marketing and the schemes behind it. Especially since I do plan on starting my own business one day such as opening my own restaurant and other types of businesses as well. I’m gonna need all the knowledge I can get on how to get my company’s name out there. So any and all info you could throw at me would be greatly appreciated. By the way your accent is absolutely to die for lol where are you from? I’m an aspiring voiceover actor as well and part of succeeding in this field is learning different languages, accents, etc. If I could learn your accent I’d be a shoe in for a lot more successful auditions lol. Ok take care now
How much creativity is involved in marketing? Do I need to be an artistic person? I’m interested in business management and marketing, but I’m not really sure which is for me
No need to be artistic really. I’ve found a lot of what I do really just requires an eye for what is aesthetically pleasing/good design. I spend most of my time project managing, briefing and reporting to be honest
@@NodreenK that is so encouraging to hear/read! Another question I have, does marketing include sales or no? I’ve looked and there doesn’t seem to be a major for sales.
I'm going to do a BS in Digital Media Marketing and guess what is includes advertising and commercial video production! I really love it even it's not traditional marketing.
In my oponion, marketing is series of human activities that is directed towards satisfying customers needs and wants through exchange of processes.
Wow I like her before she starts.
Aww thanks Cassandra xxx
Pliz talk about business development. Your looking gorgeous. Nice video
What A levels would be good to study International Business Management at Uni or International Business with Marketing
I'm not sure of any uni that would ask that you do specific subjects, but studying similar subjects at A-Level e.g. Business Studies or Economics, might make it slightly easier to grasp? I'd say the best think to do though is pick the subjects that you'll do well in, as I think it all comes down to UCAS points xxx
You are so smart thank you!
Do u think I’d be interested in marketing major if I do RUclips and like doing it? :)
I’d say you’d have an interest in video marketing - but that is a small part of digital marketing
marketing segmentation
Skillful Video! Fantastic job on this video.
Skillful Video! Fantastic job on this video.
Im a high school student whos intrested in going into a marketing program in college or university. How can i understand the concept of marketing better, or learn ways to develop a good marketing sense?
I've got a video coming on this very topic soon! :)
Read, think and write a lot. I'm on my third year of study and i've found crucial to write my own definitions and not just acept what teachers and authors say. There are so many different oppinions and as maketing is a relatively new discipline concepts aren't as established as they are in phisics, philosofy or medicine.
To develop a marketing sense you have to pay a lot of atention on your suroundings and on how you feel. Marketing requies a lot of self-awarenes and empathy. Be awere when you are on a web page of the user expirience; when you or your family want to by a new TV or car or whatever, pay attention to the steps they made and the criteria they use, you'll find out every person is different; when walking on the street think on how many ads or stores get noticed and how many doesn't and why; every time you get the oportunity to fill a survey, fill it, and think sort of, what's your tolerance, is it 5 minutes? Is it 20?; don't skip youtube ads, think of how they made you feel, what are they selling and what is brand, if you can't remember some of those, they failed.
The world needs better marketing. Join us.
Lucas Santoro thank you so much !
d haley, you're welcome. Marketing is a true passion.
Lucas Santoro starting to lose passion for it i feel like its a hard career to get into any tips ?
Please the major marketing concepts. Thanks!
Hi Nodreen, am at uni right now, can you please also talk about ur experience at uni and how that may affect ur career decision or not?, also how you budget, save, well like financial advice series please. I enjoyed this video👍🏼
Thanks for this video. It is very easy to understand but also very comprehensive and informative. I have researched a lot about marketing but your video really speaks to me and makes me feel this is something truly important and interesting.
Thanks so much for the great feedback. So good to know you found the video helpful!

Added to the list! xx

Skillful Video! Very interesting and informative video.
Skillful Video! Very interesting and informative video.
i need your advice please. i graduated in faculty of commerce, Management Information Systems department, 2009 class.
i want to apply for Marketing master. i am 28 years old now . and i do not have a big experience in Marketing. but i love it so much. Do you think it a good idea to go through this master or it too late to creat my career in Marketing?
Hi hun - with anything you've just got to go forward with something you feel passionate about. So you should go for whatever you think you'll absolutely enjoy. I always think real work experience can sometimes be a plus over further study when it comes to marketing, but everyone's path is different. xxx
I can't thank you enough. You gave me a positive energy. I am going to do my dear and i will live my dream . Thanks alot
I'm so glad! Thanks so much for the lovely comment and feedback xxx
Would you say that it's necessary to have a degree in marketing (or just in general) to be able to work in the marketing field? I was never able to finish my degree in a different field, but I've been very interested in marketing for a while now and am figuring out ways to get some experience with people i know who have their own small side businesses going. Do you think if someone is able to get experience but has no degree, they would be considered at an actual company? ]
I personally think experience is valued over qualifications, especially if it is significant. There are also a lot of smaller qualifications/courses you can do as an alternative to a full marketing degree. Skillshare, Udemy I’m sure have a few and then there’s whatever is on offer from any accredited marketing bodies where you are. In the U.K. it’s the chartered institute of marketing.
You have uploaded this video 4 years ago and still it's very helpful to me❤️ thankxxxx🙏
Awww I’m so glad ❤️🙏🏾
Should i do Masters in Marketing or a diploma in digital marketing. Which has better pay and scope?
I’d say there’s quite a lot of money in digital marketing at the moment
Great video. Keep it coming.
I've recently been hired as a marketing assistant. Any advice in how I could grow in this role?
Business owners need additional advertising and marketing choices. The current market is so saturated. Don't you think?
I think there is always an opportunity for business owners to seek out and find new advertising and marketing channels. The world is fast evolving and I'm sure there are always platforms opening up that might be great for driving exposure and sales :)
Nice video, love the way you talk, really keeps my attention. You have a charisma def. :)
Question for you - Can you please tell how to start? I am 25 done with my Communication Science degree, but had no experience in Marketing, but would love to get in that career. Have no idea what to look for, where to go, how to apply for jobs?! I am super open to new learning and learning fast. My previous experience is related to event production.
Thanks in advance for your time and answer :).
Definitely check out my marketing playlist- lots of helpful advice in there
Thanks..It was a really a informative Video...Cheers!!!!
your video is amazing and really informative, and you are really pretty and your accent is amazing! :) i just have a really stupid question. Would you say marketing is creative?
Thank you so much! I would say that marketing is a creative career path :)

love the video, but make sure not to cut your hands when you shoot the video. Every good video where someone talks is much better when we can actually see your hands.

whats the best online school for marketing? i know what i read but more insight is always good
I can't say I'd be able to make a recommendation to be honest - but definitely do some research and check out previous student reviews :)

Hey ya'll. Current in Graphic Design and looking into minoring in marketing so I can have a fall back to a corporate job if needed. What are your takes on this?
Did you end up doing that
I’d say it’s worth doing some further study on marketing as a career path (check out my playlists as a starting point) and see if it’s good enough to be your plan A. While minoring in marketing might give you the basics it won’t be enough to comfortably fall back on as a career path
@@NodreenK Thank you for the wonderful advice!
This is so useful!!! Thank you x
So glad you found it helpful :)
Great video. Very clear, concise and informative. P.s. I also subbed👌🏽

Great day beautiful lady.
I am looking to integrate my MSc in Animal Sciences with a post graduate Diploma in either Marketing or Business Management. Through my research, these two qualifications seem to be having the same advantage, make good money.
I would like to ask, where would you put your money, marketing or BM? I want to make great money in the science fraternity.
Love from South Africa,
kitsoyaone phatudi hi there! It really depends on where you see yourself excelling. Business management is quite broad and encompasses a lot of different topics marketing included so I'd always say stay broad if you don't know where your strength will be
