    Amazing product and very helpful instructions on your website. I did the in-wall installation, which is very troublesome and a lot of work with results that you can't easily judge. But the effect of putting it on the underside of the roof decking was probably 20 degrees cooler (say from 104 to 84) during the sunniest part of the day. Anyone who questions the value of radiant barrier is dishonest, ignorant, or mental.

      WOW!! Thank you so much for the reply!!! Would you mind putting this in a Goggle review! You are right about the naysayers. They will say radiant barriers don't work and then park under a tree.

    Which installation method do you suggest for Kansas City Mo? Single level ranch, 1700 sft. I need to remove old blow in and seal tops of walls and light openings, then reapply blown in cellulose. Should I just hang it on the roof rafters for now and then do the over insulation after? Thanks.

      Take a look here: atticfoil.com/index.php/installation/best-install-method/ This should help. Thanks!

    How much more effective is adding the original atticfoil on the rafters as well as the superperf over the insulation? Just trying to maximize the reduction of radiant heat as much as possible.

      You really only get an additional benefit of installing www.AtticFoil.com on the rafters IF you have ductwork in the attic. Otherwise, probably not worth it.

    Ive seen videos of leaving areas open at the bottom and top of the roof , i for one dont have any soffits or ridge caps , just 2 gables on each side of the attic and a fan in each one ,, question is. Would i still need to keeo that space open for heat to escape

    • @AtticFoil

      Yes, even if you don't have soffit vents, you still want gaps at top and bottom. You want air to flow freely around the www.AtticFoil.com The gaps at the bottom will allow air in, heat up and make it's way to the top of the attic.

    What is the best way to insulate an A-frame house roof without an attic?

    • @AtticFoil
      @AtticFoil  9 месяцев назад

      Not a lot of options for installing www.AtticFoil.com without an attic. If you are installing a new roof, there are a lot of options, or you could add insulation and an new interior cladding from the inside. None are easy options.

    Hello. My house is 2014 build (south Texas) and I already have radiant barrier installed (attached to the roof from the inside). I don’t think it really does much since the attic is crazy hot during summer time. My question is, can I still install additional radiant barrier from you guys? Will existing radiant barrier prevent it from working as intended? Any issues with that?

    • @AtticFoil
      @AtticFoil  10 месяцев назад

      No issue at all. In fact, we have several home builders that do both. The www.AtticFoil.com method is significantly better at reducing heat into the attic compared to the decking according to a study done by the Dept Of Energy: atticfoil.com/index.php/technical-info/dept-of-energy-study-results/

    Will attic foil affect reception of a tv or radio antenna in the attic ?
    Also, what effect does attic foil have on humidity entering the home ? Thanks

    • @AtticFoil
      @AtticFoil  Год назад

      Installing ABOVE an attic antenna can cause interference. Most people just don't do the area around the antenna. As for moisture entering the home? The www.AtticFoil.com should have NO effect. Normally, moisture is LEAVING the home.

      Any metallic conductor will form a partial faraday cage, so it WILL interfere with signals that can be captured by the depth of the material you use.
      Here it looks like aluminium, you can try making a globe of kitchen aluminium foil around your antenna and see for yourself the kind of effect you can get ;)
      (a globe would be a much more "closed" geometry than the "inner surfaces of your attic" but it will at least increase attenuation of the signal and maybe cause come reflections/quality issues depending of the size and geometry of the final attic foil installation)
      As for moisture, if you make a pretty tightly sealed installation you can "trap" moisture inside, but i saw an older video explaining that attic foil can be installed "with gaps" to make way for the hot air to escape the building.

    Can these replace rafter baffle vents? I'm thinking a radiant barrier can work the same way. The cost of baffles might be more or less than the cost of a attic foil.

    • @AtticFoil
      @AtticFoil  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, you can just run a piece of www.AtticFoil.com across the bottom, cut, tuck etc. into each rafter bay and you just made reflective insulation baffles. This page has more info: atticfoil.com/index.php/installation/staple-up-installation/

    wouldn't reflecting all that air and heat make a due point drop and cause moisture problem

      I can assure you a roof in the sun will NEVER be below the dewpoint.
