Growing Microgreens & Salad Greens Indoors

🌱🌱 This winter I’m growing my own microgreens and salad greens INDOORS! If you don’t have garden space outdoors, live in a cold climate where you can’t grow through the winter, or want to ensure #foodsecurity, then growing indoors is a great option.
On January 10, 2022 I planted speckled pea microgreens as well as green onions, cilantro, spinach and lettuce indoors under grow lights. I live in Victoria BC, zone 8, and we’ve had a good dump of snow in the last couple of weeks. The temperatures are far too cold in the winter here to grow much so I’m trying my hand at growing indoors.

You could certainly do it economically! I would buy the microgreen trays new, but you could likely get used shelving and maybe even grow lights - those are the biggest expenses. You’d also need some soil and microgreen seeds. I put some links in the video description in case you wanted to check out the prices, as well as a link to where I got my bulk microgreen seeds from.
