Great video. I was in similar situation when we moved to our home and purchased new beds. Garbage truck didn’t take them either, so I turned my three box springs into garden raised beds. Growing okra, corn, and Roma tomatoes.
Hi there, thanks for watching my video and the kind feedback. Yes, this was certainly an interesting process after the garbage truck did not take the mattress and it was too big to fit in my small car. Hope your raised garden beds work out and your garden sounds splendid by the way. Thanks for watching and the support to help grow my channel 👍🏾😀
I was getting a little concerned about those windows behind where you were doing the work. Murphys Law didn't see what you were doing that day ! LOL Nice job and great video !

Hi there, Thanks for watching my video and the feedback. Yes there are things that can be done with the scraps from the mattress. A tomato cage is one of them. This feedback has propped up several times in this comment section. Thanks again for watching my video and the subport to help me grow my channel 👍🏾😀
Here I thought you were making some sort of tool rack, which is what I've done with a couple old box springs, nails/hooks in the wood and little wood/minifridge pieces to make shelves on it. You had the wire frame coiled up in a circle I thought you were gonna put that on a lazy susan and make one better than I did...thanks for the idea though! The fabric that comes on them is actually fairly unique, like waterproof shadecloth, it comes in handy now and again
Hi there, Thanks for watching my video and the ultra-kind feedback. Wow! You had a bunch of ideas with the recovered materials. Boy that was a great idea.. us citizens can be so lazy, but if someone wants to charge us a fee we sure can figure out how to reuse and reduce in a hurry. Thanks for the diy and laughs
This is smart!! I have a box spring to get rid of and originally I called a junk removal company for a quote to take an old dresser and the box spring and was told it was going to cost somewhere between $100- $125. That seems really expensive, no thanks! Also, I have been looking into utilizing the box spring for a raised bed in my garden too but if that doesn't work out at least I won't have to pay expensive removal costs. Thank you!!!

My trash company will take mattresses and box springs. They have to be wrapped in plastic completely, and you have to call ahead of time to give them advance notice that you’re putting out large item(s). They charged like $15 to haul away a mattress and box spring.

That was a comment left by fan that explained he was doing the same with his mattress and his plan to use the spring after.
Could also use the metal as a support in garden for cucumbers or beans.
