- In this video, I am sharing how to turn an old divan bedframe into a bar! Yes you heard me lol! A DIY Garden bar, made from recycling an old bed frame. I used reclaimed wood I got for free, to transform this old bed into a bar.
I was able to purchase second hand bar stools locally, this DIY came in well under budget. I only spent on the Cuprinol garden paint, nails, screws and the bamboo screen.

Your Pub is awesome. Very creative. In today's world, we need to take a break. It is not disrectful. It helps to keep us focused, sort of like a computer re-boots. Catherine, people in the U.S. are opening "garage bars" where they convert their garage into a bar. They don't have to get a liquor license because they don't sell anything, so its not a business, people stopping by for a drink leave tips. They have t.v.s, dart boards & other games there as well, & people from all over the neighborhood stop in for a drink. They have to follow the Covid rules of course. People are so inventive.😄 Love your little "co-host" assisting your with this video 😃

So cute!!! My mother in law made one with the wood and the bamboo, so it wasn't see through. When she sent the pictures, she was wearing a strapless dress, so she looked naked!!! We had such a laugh!!!

A fitting Dainty pub! To keep it looking dainty for a longer time, you might want to consider sealing it, painted and unpainted areas, as the chippy wood will swell after a rain. Looks great though, and I especially love your antique man!

Catherine - You are the most creative, cute, imaginative, funny and absolutely adorable DIY'er I've ever come across! Your creativity is like a bottomless well. I consider myself to be pretty damn imaginative but I never would have thought to transform a bed box springs into a pub! Not in a million years. But it makes perfect sense you did! I think that says it all. Your pub is priceless - so damn cute! The only thing you need now is a Dainty Pub sign to hang on your wall. I want to urge you to use some sort of lacquer finish on your wood though to seal & make it waterproof. Sadly that type of wood used on the sides will absorb water and ruin. But you obviously already know that given your comment about getting it up off the ground. I can only imagine the feelings of pride in yourself you must have when you look around your home & gardens. I'm headed to Dublin this summer and want to make your pub part of my pub crawl!

Girl! You need a table saw. That must be your next purchase. I have one and it's the best most convenient thing I have bought. My neighbor borrows it and uses it more than I do, but it is so nice to have when you need it. The pub looks great! Great upscale project. Pepsi was definitely wanting to be involved in this one. I think she earned herself a Guinness!

Pubs closed on St. Patrick's Day is a sin!!! I love that you took a time off to respect what is going on around the world last week but I have to say.. it was such a refreshing break from the sadness & hurt we're all feeling to sit down to watch one of your videos. Thanks you for realizing we need some relief from the hardness of these times & putting up your video. A 63 year old dear friend of mine for the past 40 years was one of those battered with a billy club during a peaceful protest by, of all people, the police. The people we're supposed to be able to turn to to keep the peace were the ones who turned violent. She was in critical condition for the 1st 24 hours & now is in stable but serious condition. She's the sweetest soul you'd ever want to know. My heart is hurting horribly. I tell you about this so you understand how desperately I & so many like me needed the ray of light your video release brought. Thank you sweet Catherine.

Catherine, the pub is so cute! The pansy in the drink is fabulous, I’m going to try that. You may need some (marine?) sealer to protect it from the rain. You already have plans to protect the bottom. Thank you for taking the time to entertain us and give us DIY ideas.

Seems young professionals living in New Jersey suburbs, those who left NY & miss their neighborhood pubs...are creating garage pubs. They walk to neighbors garage pub, , bring their own beer (free drinks) , no drinking & driving so they get home safely. Plus they dont wake up kids if they have friends over in garage pub.
I would highly recommend anyone creating backyard or garage pub to recycle bed frames for bar pub. Terrific idea on how to recycle!
