- In this video, I take you through my journey at Round 2 of the 2024 King of Ballarat. After crashing out in 2023 and breaking my hand, I had something to prove this year. Joined by Dan, a top contender in last year's series, we hit Black Hill for some pre-race practice.
Race weekend brought its challenges with damp conditions, a snapped lever blade, and a chaotic practice session. But thanks to Matt from Cycle Scape, I got back on track and pushed through. Watch as I battle it out in the 35+ category, tackling tricky jumps, roots, and unpredictable weather. I managed to secure a top 6 finish-beating Dan in the process!
Check out the full recap, including practice highlights, race runs, and a shout-out to Cycle Scape (cyclescape.com...) for saving the day. Leave a comment if you raced, especially if you're over 53-I want to know your age!
Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more mountain biking adventures. Good luck to everyone in Round 3-let’s hope for better weather!

Enjoyed much, and well done on your six place!
Glad you enjoyed it. Currently working on round 3.
@@Sportilium Awesome 🙂
Hahahaha man it was so slippery and just carnage! You did awesome to get 6th in that field - so many fast old buggers! 47 here :)
@@PeteDonohueyeah I was pretty stoked with sixth
Looked like a fun race. Well ridden and well filmed Friedo 👏
Thanks Nick, this was a pretty hectic one. Stayed dry during racing but it was a wet track for the weekend. Round 3 coming out soon.
@@Sportilium jealous, I’m keen for that sort of racing next year.
The King Of Ballarat is on this weekend, that’s why it’s going to rain a bunch 🤣
Haha 😝 we’re all saying the same
@@Sportilium yep, when does it not rain then. ☔️
It only rains three times in Ballarat. From January to April then from June to October and November to December 😜
Tricky conditions, excellent work 👏
Did someone mention you beat Dan 💦💦
@@BikingCarFanatic haha, yeah I did!! 🤣🤣
