Hinterland don't give a single crap about Nintendo players . The dlc broke the game and hasn't worked since released. We waited an extra year longer than everyone else, paid money, and got a broken game.
Exciting news! Can't wait to get into early access. I hope this doesn't mean they're going to stop working on, and more importantly, fixing, Long Dark 1.0 and its array of Broken Silence bugs. TLD is probably my favourite game. This new iteration looks great. I've been asking for proper Woodsman's axes (2-handed axes) in TLD for ages, and now Blackfrost shows a survivor using one to chop down a tree. Same with candles. Now they have them. The scope on the rifle has been another player wish for ever. So it kind of feels like they have been listening to player feedback, but building a new game from the ground up. I like that the co-op play is entirely optional, but solo play still appears to be the main focus.
Soooo excited for this! And that hotel picture is the picture they teased before - now it makes sense. Looks like you can take over a room/building - saw they had rugs on the wall for insulation etc. I'm guessing that the new safehouse customisation we have now is the building block for whats to come in the new one. Also animals coming inside now! I don't want that! lol Oh and HORSES!
i hope there will be ingame lore, like notes, tapes you can listen to when an aurora is going on, logbooks, places where you can see what happen like a couple of survivers died while holding hands or the like, maybe a cutscene later on when/if exspansion/events are happening
Long time ago when TLD was introducing desolaion point I remember that there was a rumor that hinterland was secretly developing new game. I remember because I asked will TLD have changing seasons at some point and some people said that Ralph said maybe in the next project. ❤❤❤❤❤ luv it. Also thanks Joe for bringing me the news first.
Was gonna ask if you think a TLD2 would be a hit and this drops. The long Dark is beautiful but I think the immersion will jump quite a bit if the graphics got a boost. Really kool to see this was being worked on for years
Do I think it'll be a hit? Yes. There is a solid enough player base that they will sell a ton of copies. Will the be able to implement their vision so they don't get review bombed on day one? eh.... that's going to be easier said than done. People are super picky these days.
I wonder if the sanity system is a very clever way to Nerf cooking 5. Maybe eating rancid and rotten food can be done, but at a cost of will. I mean eating a moldy 6 month old piece of bear meat would bring anyone down.
I’m bummed because when I saw this thumbnail I thought this was an update for the long dark and I was excited but they just wanna cash in again prolly gonna price it at $70 for game + any digitally locked content that isn’t included in that $70 you already paid
It's a whole new game, so it's going to have a new price point. They are adding brand new game mechanics, coop and a whole new series of maps as well as npc's. The price will be lower and if people wait to buy it until the game is finished then yes, the price will be higher years later. I'm not sure where you're getting your 70 dollars from but I don't see that happening during early access.

It looks different but a lot of what we were seeing is concept art. Time will tell. By keeping the landscape simple it opens the game up for people with older computers. Smart.

You can't leave your starting region or the game freezes every time. I bought the dlc the day it came out in the summer, and cant play it. I love the game and this really sucks. So when I hear they added more to the game.... I get more disappointed, more content that wouldn't work.
Longdsrk has been completely busted on Nintendo since day 1 of the dlc. The game freezes any time you try to leave your starting region. I think it took an extra year for the dlc to come out on Switch. Only to not work and break the game. Needless to say I am very upset with Hinterland. I buy the dlc and cant even play the game anymore. Total waste of money. Will I buy long dark 2? Absolutely not! I'm not even getting excited. Nintendo players waited about 2 years for the dlc, it finally comes out and it breaks the game. I've emailed Hinterland and nothing. The dlc has been broken for 6 months. I loved playing LD, but this is total BS. I even stopped watching people play the game on RUclips. Very disappointing.
I mean, it's the Nintendo Switch. I'm not sure what you were expecting, it is notorious for being the most underpowered console of the last generation. I agree that they should try to fix things, but at some point they have to give up on it. It's like trying to run Crysis on a potato-battery.

They've definitely been paying attention to the things we've been requesting! Now we wait.
But until then, I'll keep playing this one!
