Hi Kerry, I've made doughnuts from John Kirkwood video on YT, his recipe calls for an no knead and strong white flour also to shallow fry in oil, I'm going to make again his recipe but coat in a little oil and airfryer in my Cosori Dual, yours did look nice though x
Firstly Kerry I would like to say well done on reaching 6.82k subscribers, and I would also like to say is your honesty like you wouldn’t make the doughnuts again is one of the reason your subscribers love watching you so much. marking from one to ten is a good idea. Keep up the good videos we love them.
When my mom used to make doughnuts, she would put the sugar in a plain brown paper bag. As soon as the doughnuts were cooked, they were placed in the bag and shaken up. Maybe that works better than a plate?
Well done Kerry for trying the doughnuts. Homemade, the majority of times turns out differently to shop bought mass production items. At least you knew what went into your's😊. Taste always outweighs looks fir me. 🎉
Proving in the fridge is a slow proof, that is why they say it's better overnight. it's said to give a better proof but a lot slower. proving outside (warm) is best for a 'quick' rise
Absolutely I made donuts I make everything kolaches hamburger buns bread I mean dinner rolls cinnamon rolls I do it all even Pizza out of my bread machine and air fryers that's all I use I do not use the oven anymore
You can use piping nozzles that are smaller if the cutters are to big..Well done kerry, love your Determination,ALWAYS. Pleased the cutters are comming in handy. The egg-cup and its beauty caught my eye. Love all your dishes that u use,so full of Character 💖👋🧒🐕🦺
Aww Liz, she looks so darn pretty with her Rose' bandana, I'll try the bumblebee one tomorrow, hopefully it'll bring some sunshine! Doughnuts were a bit of an effort, think I'll stick to store bought ones😄👍
Well done Kerry for trying. mine turned out like yours quite thick and not as fluffy as the brought ones . I have got other recipes to try so I will keep trying until I find a good one . Loving the PLOT 25 also I'm totally hooked 😀🧄🥒🍓❤
i make the dough in the bread maker. then just do the 2nd rise in the microwave (using it as a proofing chamber) then cook in either the ninja multi or the halogen oven)
The ones proved out of the fridge looked better, I’m sure there are better recipes plus maybe/possibly a spritz of oil. I loved your pressies especially Rosie’s bandana’s, so cute. That beautiful bee card would look lovely in a frame on your wall under the painting you did of your allotment ❤❤❤
I think you made a super job of these and bet your family scoffed the lot. My new toy is a bread maker which is fab and will do all the hard work of making the dough. Probably strong plain bread flour would make a difference too. Well done for having a go and sharing your vids. Love Rosie's bandana's, she looks so smart andcute.
I have made your rockcakes about twenty times after watching you all my family loves tham i hadnt made them since i was in school 50 yets ago thank you kerry
Hi Kerry they are for your dog Rosie🦮 as 1 Bandana had roses on.Still loving your video's.I might try making them here as a doughnut costs me €1.60 in my local shop, and that's for 1 jam doughnut.Lots of Love Marilyn from the Costa Blanca Spain🇪🇦💃🏼🌴🏖️🥳
Hi Marilyn! Hope you're well, so nice to hear from you. I should have guessed when I was looking at the Rose's bandana lol🤦♀️😂 it did click later and I took a pic of rosie wearing it, it's near the end of the vlog. Take care!! 😀💕💕💕
great video you should make Eclairs or cream puffs in the air fryer. choux pasty so easy to make the ones I made came out brilliantly when I made them.
@@budgetcookinguk Choux Pastry Ingredients: 80 grams / 1/2 cup bread flour 14 grams / 1 tablespoon superfine/caster sugar 130 millilitres / 1/2 cup + 1 teaspoon cold water 50 grams / 1.75 ounces butter, cubed 2 eggs mid, lightly beaten Chocolate sauce; 80 millilitres / 1/3 cup double cream 50 grams / 1.75 ounces dark chocolate, finely chopped 1 teaspoon honey Cream filling 120 millilitres / 1/2 cup whipped cream 1 tablespoon confectioner’s/icing sugar Directions: Preheat the oven to 200ºC/390F and lightly grease a baking tray, pouring water over the top and taping to remove excess (you want water beads on the tray to create a steamy atmosphere during baking). Sift the flour into a small bowl and add the sugar. Set aside. Place the water and butter in a saucepan over medium heat until the butter has melted and the mixture has begun simmering. Remove from the heat and pour the sifted flour and sugar into the mixture, stirring swiftly with a wooden spoon to combine until the dough no longer sticks to the side of the saucepan. Add in 1/4 of the beaten eggs and beat the dough until smooth, continue adding the eggs in the same manner until all have been combined. Take half a tablespoonful amount of the dough and shape into a ball with an opposing tablespoon and place onto the prepared baking tray, continue with the remaining dough and allowing 1 inch between the dough. Place in the oven and bake for 10 minutes. Increase the heat to 220ºC/430F, turn the tray around and bake for a further 10-15 minutes or until the pastries are lightly golden. Remove from the heat and place on a cooling rack, allowing to cool fully. Combine the whipped cream and sugar together and fold together until smooth. Slice a choux pastry open slightly near the base and carefully spoon a tablespoon of whipped cream into the center until all have cream therein. To make the chocolate sauce, place the double cream in a small bowl and heat over a double boiler or microwave until it’s smooth and hot, stir in the chocolate and honey until it is smooth. Drizzle the chocolate sauce over the tops of the cream puffs. Serve.
@@budgetcookinguk oven temps. air fryer temps I used was 200 c for 10 mins then 4 mins at 160 c then let them sit for 3 mins in the air fryer to dry out more . some may go flat but once you put the cream in they are just as good. good luck. hope this will be one you enjoy making
Maybe some seedless raspberry jam slightly warmed in a microwave spread over the top and then dipped in sugar may give them more of an authentic doughnut taste, and inject the ‘holes’ with the jam. I love your have a go attitude to things too. Take care. Gill X
Another 'tip' I meant to say is, if you give the doughnuts a quick spritz with oil (I guess you could lightly brush oil on them too) then air bake them. still never going to be the same as deep fried but does give a closer taste. helps with browning too ;)
Shouting out at the screen it's for Rosie. Put Rosie's collar through it it's a bandana for dogs. Donuts 🍩 looked like hard work good on you for having a go. Still looked yummy though.
Well done for trying them Kerry, seemed a lot of faffing about to me, think I will give doughnuts a miss. The material triangle is a bandana which the collar goes through for lovely Rosie. Hope you have had a lovely weekend. X
Aww thank you Jo💕agree, too faffy and sticky lol. We realised they were bandanas while I was editing, took a pic if rosie wearing it, and put it near end of the vlog😄
I don't think I would try making them, they're a bit too sticky for me. The ones you by in M&S are the texture of yours. I like the ones from Greg's with the sugar coating on. I was talking to the screen and saying they're bandanas Kerry. Anyway well done to you for making them
kerry ,things dont have to look pretty, its the taste that counts, i bet your family woofed them down , they look pretty good to me , good going. by the way what is the music ,i really like it
Aww thank you Grace 💕💕they did! Oh that music is called The Windmill, oooo hang on I cannot remember the name of the artist, will check tomz (I love it too - there are 1000s to choose from and I found it quite hard to choose lol). Ui Kerry I'm glad you did this video as I have been thinking about trying donuts. Maybe I will still try.

The cloth prezzies look like piping bags to me. You have the same airfryer make as me so that gave me a great indication. Many thanks 😊

Hi Kerry, glad you liked the little pressies, and Rosie looks stunning in her ‘bandana’ lol Those donuts look like hard work though …phew 😂xx

Thank you kerry
When you have sugar, egg, and butter in a yeast dough, I've found it never rises as much as a regular bread dough.
hi, thanks for all the recipes!! u must try these donuts with the greek yogurt and self raising flour method closest thing to fair ground donuts 🙌
Love that pink dish as much as the green jug Kerry
