2022-23 TMEA Snare Drum Etude Performance

Please enjoy this performance of Etude No. 9 from Advanced Snare Drum Studies by Mitchell Peters, and feel free to use it a reference recording while preparing your audition! For reference, this performance was recorded at 76 bpm. It sits well in the hands and speaks clearly at this tempo yet still retains the liveliness of the quick 3/8 meter. This etude is largely inspired by Maurice Ravel's Alborada del Gracioso, and I highly recommend you listen to a few recordings to get the unique style and flavor of the piece in your ear.
