We got 3 car loads full of fresh fruits and vegetables last Sunday and distributed it to 18 families. I recently had knee replacement surgery and just now am back to diving. So happy

We have been diving mostly for food for about a year. We have 2 Aldi stores where we find lots of stuff. We just got a Gordon's grocery nearby and have found enough meat to last about a year there. We also hit the Dollar Generals and Dollar Trees in our area. We do not have the Amazon stores like you guys. That bin of fruits and vegetables looked so good! We are a family of 7, so finding food really helps our budget!

Another use for dried flower petals, especially roses is to crush them a bit then mix them with epsom salts! It makes a wonderful soak for in the tub. My step daughter did that one year for Christmas gifts and everyone loved it!

No disrespect to those that have to hurriedly "hit and run" at dumpsters. I just have a thing about handling food with respect. Too many people in the world are starving. That's why Mr Volt's approach is so refreshing.

Today i went to my foodsaver and got so many fruits and veggies which were perfect. Nothing overriped or damaged. I still cannot believe this stuff was going to go to the trash! Love your work ❤

People say how can you take potatoes, onions, fruit etc. I say to them. They grow in the dirt, and fertilized with manure! The trees have birds and birds chew and poo on them. So what's the problem unless they are shriveled or rotten?
EXACTLY!!!! That's such a good point. People forget that fruits and veggies are meant to grow naturally and there are birds and other animals all around in nature. Just wash your fruits and veggies. We will be featuring this comment in our next video.
I say the EXACT same thing to my kiddos all the time!! I have a teenager who is disgusted by anything I find diving but she doesn’t even rinse her fresh fruits and veggies! 🙄🤦🏻♀️
I haven’t had to buy cat litter for the past six months since I started dumpster diving! I get really excited when I don’t have to pay $15-$20 on something for my kitties to poo and pee in!! I also donate my finds to our local women and children’s DV shelter, animal control and other no-kill shelters, and senior centers. When I still have leftovers after that I list on FB marketplace for free and finally the rest goes to thrift stores like Goodwill or Savers.
I’m passionately invested in saving as many items from being irresponsibly discarded as possible!

Another place that would love those vegetables is an animal rescue organization that has horses.They are so happy to get the treats.
Good for you not saying where you are. That's what happened from the beginning. Divers were trying to make a point of what companies were throwing out what and now many of the dumpsters are locked or the stores are totally ruining the stuff.
Those bananas are in better quality than the bunch I bought in the supermarket! I'm not even kidding!
There's a little meat market that we go to it's really good but we hardly ever get fruits and veggies from there because the fruits and veggies we find dumpster diving are better than the ones they sell (We have tried several times). The thing that I do like is that they put a box at the register of whatever fruit or veggie they are trying to get rid of and mark it down until they just give it away for free.

Oh that is great that you found another place to get food! Such ripe, fresh, beautiful colours of fruit and veggies. I also found a case of Valentine Hearts and the date was for Nov 2023 for expiry, my my what are they thinking throwing that out ha ha. I love the trick Mr. Volt pulled on (your look out) son, that was funny lol. Your right, always have fun doing what your doing whether in dumpster diving or whatever your occupation is. remember some petals from flowers are edible as well. Check your local library you will be surprised all you can eat. Happy Easter or Passover or just have a great Spring weekend!

I know where you found the peeps candy as I work for that chain of stores. The peeps come in brown, pink, blue, and of course the yellow. I must have the yellow peeps every Easter.

I am so glad v v. got a lot of those fruits n veg's. They looked so fresh I can't believe they were thrown out. I really enjoy y'alls videos. So glad to see all you save from the dumpsters. I also use those little rubber like shaped molds to make wax melts as well from broke candles. You can get all kinds of cute shapes and the wax just pushes right out.
Been getting veggies and egg s at Nature's Groceries. 50# of potatoes and10 dozen eggs on Wednesday! Shared with friends and family!

Please keep your red and blue strobe lights home. It is actually illegal to have them in the car on the road as they are associated with fire dept, ambulance, and police. Don't want your good people getting arrested or cited. I'm in Cali and have known this for over 30 yrs but others don't. Please stay safe.
I am so glad to see someone rescue this food. It should be something that is normal for people to rescue the food from the landfill! Even the food that people can’t eat should be given to people with animals like chickens or pigs that can eat it or just compost it. This is still good for so much! I have chickens and composting worms that I feed they are wonderful animals to turn waste into products that make a big difference. The worms make worm castings to feed my plants and the chickens make eggs and compost also.

That tells me somebody is ordering too much produce. When they throw away that much food the regular food people buy the prices go up.
Those boxes of flowers are great for around tress, no trimming !! They are gorgous
I ended up with some great, sweet oranges (purchased) and this video had me going to the next room to get one of those oranges! This bin certainly makes it differently easier to grab the produce. I am so glad you have found a place or two which will take produce and/ or perishables. There are going to be some pretty happy folks with this one.

Flower petals dried makes great pot-pourri , just add your favourite oil and a pretty bowl

If you use baking soda and vinegar you need to use them separately. The foam that emerges when they mix is an indication of them cancelling each other out. You know base and acid.

Absolutely digusting! It makes me so mad to see all that food just thrown out. I couldn't not with good conscience throw it away. Give it away to the hungry. Just imagine every dumpster in every city in the U.S. is like that. Tons and tons of perfectly good food.... There needs to be some kind of law. There's people going hungry, what the f@@k! As a farmer, this hurts seeing all our hard work tossed out like that but at least you saved some of it. It should be national law that food goes to feed people then animals, then composted. Should never go to the landfills.

that's an awful lot of fruit/vegatables for the stores to toss. It looked all good to me. White vinager is good but baking soda can harm/stick to food

So in Oregon we have never bought shampoo, soap, dish soap, laundry soap and yes they toss TP , sun lotion, toothpaste, mouth wash, cooking oil, cooking spray, seasonings, jam's, so much dry goods . Tossed away and not past the dates to be pulled and no recall . Amazing but with gas up to sky high we have no idea how people are going to make it.
