This bomb loop combo with Link’s Bair can also be done against light & medium characters even if they’re at high percents. It just so happens that the combo is much easier to perform on DK cuz he’s a thicc monke.

For Clip of the Day: the bomb loop with Bair was not true in that clip, though I believe it can be at that % with better execution. It’s looping a technique we use called the Bair Flip, where if the blast zone behind you is closer you can insta-Z drop, go to the other side, and Bair 1 up b for the kill. For the kill and to complete the clip the Link could have done a Bair Flip into drag down Fair up B, but I digress.

What makes a combo a custom combo? Does it just mean the combo isn’t “true”?

yeah pretty much, its stuff you wouldn't practice much if at all so you make it up in the moment. for example, the first clip, nair 1 into nair 1 will never be true

Which makes some of those kazuya clips not truly custom in my opinion. If your combo starts with that move that puts them into slow fall, that is not custom made-to-order, that is pre-ordered, manufactured, and built-to-scale.
