Billie Joe is a great musician... that's it. no punk rocker, no rock'n'roller, no pop punker (or whatever that is), or any of that label bullshit. He's a musician, and he's fucking good at what he does. Deal with it. Great album.
Billie's looking really healthy. And I like that he's reached a point where he can do stuff like this and not give a shit what people think. If people want to buy it, they will, but it's obvious he'll be making the music regardless.
Some of you may be a bit too young to appreciate this kind of music. When you discover more bands and different styles of music, I'm sure you'll at least *understand* why they made this record. You don't have to like it now, you can come back later! The good thing about music is that it's still going to be there 10 or 20 or 50 years from now:)
Love how perfect their voices blend together. Billie Joe, this is proof that you can sing in any style..you rock🤘🏻.(Nora sounds beautiful too, just a surprise to hear Billie singing anything outside of Green Day)❤️👏🏻
Ahhh I love Foreverly. It gives you a warm fall-like feeling to it which I love.

billie's mom is a country music lover, it's reasonable that he might like it too... and a great musician can expand their talent in very many ways, so let him do it for God sakes!!! -.-'
I don't listen to country music. But surprisingly, I found something to enjoy out of this. I like how their voices blend together. Billie could put himself in any genre and still sound awesome. 👌
I love love love this album. It's such a nice change from what I normally listen to and I really love how their voices blend. It's so nice and relaxing. And for all of you who seem concerned with Billie "going country" and "not being punk rock anymore", this isn't Green Day. It's him. Green Day is still Green Day and they're still going to make their kind of music, but Billie is allowed to branch off and do other things he wants to do, too. It doesn't mean he's not a punk rocker anymore. He's just expanding his horizons. This isn't the end of punk Billie at all.
WOW this is fabulous, their voice blend so well together and they sing so well, they have covered the songs nicely w as billy Joe said they really stripped the songs down. I want this album1
What's with the trash talking? It's a big step for him to do something this different. The sound is great! Who gives a fuck if "that's not what he does"?? As a musician you can do anything you want. You're not supposed to be forced to do what your "fans" want. That's something I don't get. If you were real fans, you wouldn't care. The fact of the matter is, it sounds great, and you're disappointed that it does because it doesn't sound like what you're used to. Grow up people!
I was floored to find out about their collaboration years after the fact. Their voices together is musical perfection and I can't wait for that "Norah-Billie" rockabilly album.
I always thought Billie Joe kind of sounded like the Everly's. I always wanted to hear him do some of their songs, but I never would've thought in a million years that he'd actually do it eventually.
Billie this is the best u've done since the year 2000. You inspired me to play guitar and sing in the 90s, u were just like Marty McFly playing Johnny B Good. BUT THEN YOU GOT STUCK ON PUNK ROCK. everyone first bands are punky trios but then your EARS grows. WHATAVER. i know what industry is, BUT IM VERY HAPPY TO HEAR YOU SINGING WITH NORAH JONES! thats the best punk u know, to surprais and have fun. Saw u on 1998 in Argentina, 2 epic concerts!! GREETINGS AND SUCCESS! Justo M.
i loved GD last 3 albums - i don't understand some of the negative comments here - all three were great - it seems some people who are fans of the older work don;t like the newer material - i hate when band keeps putting out the same thing - i actually like the new music even better - they just keep getting better and should keep going - best band ever!!!!!!!
Surprisingly, this is actually way better than the last Green Day albums (¡Uno!/¡Dos!/ ¡Tré!). All you people complaining about this being country music: you should open your minds.
Jenna Chute seriously? the billie joe from american idiot is the one you miss. you should really listen to kerplunk or 1039/smoothed out. That's the billie joe i missed until i heard this. and brenda yates is right there would be no green day without this music.
I wouldn't say this is better than Uno, Dos, and Tre...just not up to some of our styles. If you forced me to listen to this type of music, I'd rather listen to Johnny Cash. I'm not bashing it, just saying that Billie has to do what makes him happy first.
This album was wonderful. Many may not have known of the Complete album of the Everlys recordings of these historic old country folk Songs! This rendition by Billie Joe and Norah was so enjoyable!! Done wonderfully.
I am not a big Country fan, but I am a giant Green Day fan of yearsssss. I have to say this fits Billie and Nora just right, I think they have a connection to country music and this album was done very well because they channeled that. I listen to Nora's music when I want to mellow out, vocally this sounds so authentic and old Country-esque. I respect when someone's able to be versatile and that damn talented.
Got my pre-order on ITunes. Can't wait for this album. I just hope they make another album soon and this is not a one time thing. They sound great together.
This is just awesome. I honestly always thought Billie could do something that is enterely different from what he's used to on Green Day and country music sounds just about right for him. And you people who say: "what happened to Green Day?", stop complaining, he's just exploring the best of his talent. Since his mother was always a fan of country music, it would be natural for him to have a connection with it. True fans will support him and will enjoy this work.
Can we all stop worrying about Billie Joe doing this album and move on? This album is great and we should be proud for Billie Joe not giving a crap about what people think and just having fun making a good album. As for Green Day, they are still amazing and people should stop giving them so much crap. Get your heads out of the 90s and into 2014.
I believe in an eclectic playlist. Fortunately here in Boston we have the "The River". I'm so impressed with this project, it reminds me of the Robert Plant and Alison Krauss project Raising Sand. Remember how that one did at the Grammy's? Way to go Billie for stepping out of the Green Day world (which I love) and creating this!!! Norah, we just except this level of greatness from you... ;) You hard it heard 1st, Grammy sweep.
Unbelievable how many artists were influenced by The Everly Brothers. Their gift was from God and can never be duplicated, but it's great to see such talent as Billie Joe and Nora paying tribute to the wonderful Phil and Don. RIP dear Phil.
I'm nervous and excited at the same time to hear what this disc will sound like. His voice is perfect for this genre so this ought to be a really cool remake if your mind is open enough to appreciate it.
Norah Jones done so many genres!!! I love her blue and jazz root the most, but the fact that she goes country, I just love it! I already that Norah is somewhat country the fact that she used to live in Texas!
I hope these two make another collaboration, their voices go so well together and they have good chemistry. Also it's interesting to see Billie Joe do another genre of music, especially one that's so different than what he usually does.
I'm from India & I somehow find it cool that finally Billie got associated with someone/something Indian. PS: Norah is born to an Indian, Pt. Ravi Shankar.
B.J and Norah your the best..Greenday forever..this was something i realy did not expect from you but I must say I love it.. some may not like this as every one has there own taste..and i totally respect that..but i love this,B.J forever..Long Live Greenday..
He's obviously not gonna erase rock away in him.. It's impossible when it's in your blood. He's jut trying new stuff and he surely nailed it! Supporting Billie Joe in every way since 1972.
Excellent! Love the collaboration with Norah Jones and direction Billie Joe has gone. He has a great voice and I would love to hear him do other things outside of Green Day, which he has outgrown at this point in his career.
Who would have thought these two greats would get together and cut a country album. I guess after Robert Plant and Allison Kraus cut a record, anythings possible. I love it! Two thumbs up.
I was waiting...y'know? xD cool interview. to be honest, I did not like the album they made together very much but it is interesting to hear Billie Joe singing a different genre of music. Rock on to both of you.
i love this. i may look up more norah music since im not very familar with her as i am to Billie Joe with Green Day. I was very surprised on how well this went and I am very glad it went well for both of them,
BJ is a professional musician and this most recent work obviously confirms that fact. Norah is a freakin' talented artist as well. Not to mention super beautiful / hot :)
I have to laugh at some of these comments.do you think you would be happy as an artist if you only did music your fans want you to do.as you get older you need to do different things so you can grow as an artist or you end up a cover band of your own self.and this sounds country now. maybe even more country than most you hear to day,but the Everly brothers were not considered country singers. they were covering there favorite old songs.so this is a cover album of a cover album.and the songs are all American classics.
I am really glad to see him moving on to other, more mature genres. I am a big fan of Green Day, but they are no teens anymore, sometimes it is good to try something new, especially if you are such a talented guy, as Billie Joe. I personally found many great song in their last 3 albums, but even if they decide not continue with GD, it's ok, as long as he continues making music :)
I was the same my dad plays the everlys its like oh boring old songs, then u hear the songs a few times u can't help but like em the everlys were great
Looks like the album is gonna be great. I like the song "Long Time Gone", which reminds me of the music of Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, June Carter and Maria McGee in their time. Can't wait until it comes out.
Billie Joe is a great musician... that's it. no punk rocker, no rock'n'roller, no pop punker (or whatever that is), or any of that label bullshit. He's a musician, and he's fucking good at what he does. Deal with it. Great album.
couldn't have said it any better
Billie's looking really healthy. And I like that he's reached a point where he can do stuff like this and not give a shit what people think. If people want to buy it, they will, but it's obvious he'll be making the music regardless.
Rehab did him a lot of good :)
And so he should, if he chooses, after all we don't own him.(just love him as fan's)
Some of you may be a bit too young to appreciate this kind of music. When you discover more bands and different styles of music, I'm sure you'll at least *understand* why they made this record. Well said, so true.
Love how perfect their voices blend together.
Billie Joe, this is proof that you can sing in any style..you rock🤘🏻.(Nora sounds beautiful too, just a surprise to hear Billie singing anything outside of Green Day)❤️👏🏻
Guys calm down 😂 Green Day is still a thing. Billie just does a lot of side projects.
He has like 3 other bands beside green day lol
P.S.: All of them are shit lol
Pinhead Gunpowder is fucking awesome!
Don't include 'The Network' in this conversation.
Qwerty 370 I hope, they seem good together, plus she’s hot
McLane Bailey I certainly hope not considering he has been married for like over 20 years.
i love both of them
Late Night Moonlight me too
I can finally get my mom to listen to Billie Joe
Oh my god I had that exact same thought!!!
Norabillie *-* sounds like a nice genre (:
Or...bnilora...?
It does! 😁
Ahhh I love Foreverly. It gives you a warm fall-like feeling to it which I love.

My two top favorite musicians
what a surprise! Billie Joe and Norah are both my favorite singers in different music genres

This album is perfect! Puts a smile on my face for sure!
he didnt say "ya know" at all!
Alex G I love this comment so much.
he literally said it just as i was reading this comment lmfao 1:45
I was floored to find out about their collaboration years after the fact. Their voices together is musical perfection and I can't wait for that "Norah-Billie" rockabilly album.
this whole album was such an unexpected gift
I always thought Billie Joe kind of sounded like the Everly's. I always wanted to hear him do some of their songs, but I never would've thought in a million years that he'd actually do it eventually.
Amazing, if you haven't noticed his voice can blend in any type of music!
just can't believe it !! WOW What a great sound and tribute to the brothers , Way to go !!!!
Norah is so beautiful!
@Q T fk you man
@Q T she's one of those cutie types you don't wanna think that way... that's it.. lol

"NorahBilly"......Sounds perfect. Absoloutely blooming marvellous.
I'd never picture Billie doing this but his voice is just perfect! He should do some rock songs with her cos her voice is also really lovely!
he's a country punk star XD the very thought boggles the mind.
Surprisingly, this is actually way better than the last Green Day albums (¡Uno!/¡Dos!/ ¡Tré!). All you people complaining about this being country music: you should open your minds.
My mind is open! And I would rather listen to Uno Dos and tre than this! You have no taste in music if you like this crap!
Jenna Chute seriously? the billie joe from american idiot is the one you miss. you should really listen to kerplunk or 1039/smoothed out. That's the billie joe i missed until i heard this. and brenda yates is right there would be no green day without this music.

Jenna Chute You say you're open-minded and then you call this 'crap'. Okay.
Brenda Yates No, it was a reply to Jenna Chute.

Oh my I am just so in love with this album💕
I love this album so much and I love that the singer of one of my best bands ever went in this direction.
I've always loved Billy Joe's voice. I love the fact he's doing something completely different. Good
I love this and them together making this album!! Very old school country :)
Can't wait to hear the full album! It sounds great!

I hope these two make another collaboration, their voices go so well together and they have good chemistry. Also it's interesting to see Billie Joe do another genre of music, especially one that's so different than what he usually does.
I'm proud of Billie and I can't wait for this album
One of the best albums in existence. Billy Joe was a huge influence of mine growing up and Nora only added to that.
These are my 2 favorite people.....TOGETHER !!!
Can't wait for the #NoraBilly record! :P
Omg... definitely buy this album...
Really excited to hear the full album :D!!
I can't WAIT for this to come out.. What a great Everly Brothers album to remake...
I'm from India & I somehow find it cool that finally Billie got associated with someone/something Indian.

El dúo perfecto, los dos me encantan!
Does he Age at all !
Nope

Excellent! Love the collaboration with Norah Jones and direction Billie Joe has gone. He has a great voice and I would love to hear him do other things outside of Green Day, which he has outgrown at this point in his career.
Love it! Billie said it right, the album has a sense of tradition.
Who would have thought these two greats would get together and cut a country album. I guess after Robert Plant and Allison Kraus cut a record, anythings possible. I love it! Two thumbs up.
MY BEST FRIEND BOUGHT THIS ALBUM FOR ME!!!! OMG, IN LOVE. GREAT WORK. yeah, its in all capitals

That man. Oh that man.
Speechless. Unbelievable!!!
i love this. i may look up more norah music since im not very familar with her as i am to Billie Joe with Green Day. I was very surprised on how well this went and I am very glad it went well for both of them,
Bradley Baldwin not really I've heard and seen her name before though.
I like most music. Mostly punk but I never turn down a genre
BJ is a professional musician and this most recent work obviously confirms that fact. Norah is a freakin' talented artist as well. Not to mention super beautiful / hot :)
A wonderful tribute to Phil Everly.
Such a great collaboration!
WHATEVER HE SINGS IS PERFECT! JUST PERFECT!!!!
She's so amazing.

Love the sound....beautiful
Did anyone else see a really strong chemistry between these two, perhaps more than just artistic reverence? Especially from Norah toward Billie Joe.
I cant' wait to have the vinyl. This is so fucking GOOD!
