I really like this lady, so warm, wise and vibrant. Albert Ellis was lucky to have her.

Such an enormous contribution. Thank you *the Ellis Family*. As I am now in graduate school becoming a psychologist. REBT is my main focus. It envelopes everything I have thought about life for 40 years. I can't wait to spread this understanding and freeing concept to my clients in just a few years.

In every situation we choose our emotional response, no other person can "make" you feel anything. The trees will grow and the Earth will turn without a care of how you feel about anything. Get through each day as it is your last. Wake, eat, sleep, die...and then someone else will **** in your toilet.

The fundamental problem is that powerful, nauseating, debilitating responses to events are unavoidable if you have (and are capable) of having the relationships that produce the pain. If you love someone, invest fully in the relationship, and have them turn on you, hold you in contempt, commit adultery, you'll be blown to pieces. If you aren't then the relationship wasn't worth anything in the first place. If you "refuse" to be destroyed by the death of your child then - by definition - you had a choice. If you did have such a choice you're a funny sort of parent.

Well, yeah. Things are gonna suck. I don't think this suggests otherwise. But perhaps it's possible to not be "blown to pieces" by the horrors of dire circumstance

Reminds me of P.P. Quimby he would dispute peoples believes to get them healthy.

Remove beliefs and embrace knowledge... that reality may not feel comfortable for awhle but at least it is the reality of your existance.
