New one on me. Dylan sings life into it. Lyrics match his expression. The original is whiny. Insight for the day: Dylan is a rare man who has used his gift well. He is being rewarded with a long healthy meaningful life. His intelligence, not intellect, is Cosmic and perceptible
Dude. Dylan is classic. But don:t try to trash other musicians that made that song a classic. The fact that Bob sang the song, shows his respect and love for how it was written. Whiny . . . Dylan was a great songwriter and he could have wrote his own version.. He did not.
Thank you I am sending this to my eldest child who is working on a farm for a year, forty miles away We are all united in passionate love, for someone or other The love of god and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all always Is my quote for today Thank you again Henry
Remember when the days were long And rolled beneath a deep blue sky Didn't have a care in the world With mommy and daddy standing by When "happily ever after" fails And we've been poisoned by these fairy tales The lawyers dwell on small details Since daddy had to fly Oh, but I know a place where we can go Still untouched by man We'll sit and watch the clouds roll by And the tall grass waves in the wind You can lay your head back on the ground And let your hair fall all around me Offer up your best defense But this is the end This is the end of the innocence O beautiful, for spacious skies But now those skies are threatening They're beating plowshares into swords For this tired old man that we elected king Armchair warriors often fail And they've been poisoned by these fairy tales The lawyers clean up all details Since daddy had to lie Oh, but I know a place where we can go And wash away this sin We'll sit and watch the clouds roll by The tall grass waves in the wind Just lay your head back on the ground And let your hair spill all around me Offer up your best defense But this is the end This is the end of the innocence Who knows how long this will last? Now we've come so far, so fast But somewhere back there in the dust That same small town in each of us I need to remember this So baby, give me just one kiss And let me take a long last look Before we say good-bye Just lay your head back on the ground And let your hair fall all around me Offer up your best defense But this is the end This is the end of the innocence Writer/s: Bruce Hornsby, Don Henley
Shine that light on me. Dylan’s beautiful blues on one of Henley’s best, and Dylan “comes to the table” bringing his best to honor it.
I didn't know Bobby covered this song. I love it! Thanks!

Let your air out somewhere else. No need to compliment the man.

A great tribute to a fellow songwriting giant
The singing on this one is amazing. I also love how Bob subtly improved the lyrics. Deleting a lot of ands and buts and changing some tenses.
Thank you

Wonderful - thanks friend!
That's when you know you did it right, when Bob Dylan covers your song.
really wonderful ♥♥♥
Don Henley original along with Bruce Hornsby is the best. Period.
Remember when the days were long
And rolled beneath a deep blue sky
Didn't have a care in the world
With mommy and daddy standing by
When "happily ever after" fails
And we've been poisoned by these fairy tales
The lawyers dwell on small details
Since daddy had to fly
Oh, but I know a place where we can go
Still untouched by man
We'll sit and watch the clouds roll by
And the tall grass waves in the wind
You can lay your head back on the ground
And let your hair fall all around me
Offer up your best defense
But this is the end
This is the end of the innocence
O beautiful, for spacious skies
But now those skies are threatening
They're beating plowshares into swords
For this tired old man that we elected king
Armchair warriors often fail
And they've been poisoned by these fairy tales
The lawyers clean up all details
Since daddy had to lie
Oh, but I know a place where we can go
And wash away this sin
We'll sit and watch the clouds roll by
The tall grass waves in the wind
Just lay your head back on the ground
And let your hair spill all around me
Offer up your best defense
But this is the end
This is the end of the innocence
Who knows how long this will last?
Now we've come so far, so fast
But somewhere back there in the dust
That same small town in each of us
I need to remember this
So baby, give me just one kiss
And let me take a long last look
Before we say good-bye
Just lay your head back on the ground
And let your hair fall all around me
Offer up your best defense
But this is the end
This is the end of the innocence

This is the wrong date. Larry campbell has not played with him in over eight years
I think it’s 2002/3 maybe?
A Woolhall Original
I have tried myself to upload this on a couple of occasions, but it was always taken down, please be careful .
There ya go. Thems the breaks when we think we possess the work of another.
I don’t know they don’t have subtitles when this guy sings. Sounds like Joe Biden
