You thought they would just crush the car with all the decent parts left in it? He was just shown expressing sadness over a 1,3 liter turd for a few hundred bucks. Of course they wouldn't leave any usable bits. Jesus fuck.

to be fair, thats a 30 year old V8 thats still running fine. probably wouldnt stand a chance against one of the more modern commodores.
Okay Marty had a point, that little junker was kinda quick. Plus it raced three races and still performed all three times. With a suspension and the right tires, maybe an intake and exhaust, that could be a competitive little smurf. I like that they do crap cars. That's what most people have, look at the civics. Everybody does high end cars like lambos, ferraris, probably spelled that wrong, maybe ferrari will send me a check to get it right. Who wants to see the same thing all the time. I happen to like the 206. It was a fun car on gran turismo. I also like the nissan pulsar, the Mitsubishi mirage cyborg, and some other little crap cars. I enjoy these vids so much, in fact I think I've commented on every one I've watched. Just realized I forgot to rate and follow them too. Now I have to go back through all of them and rate. Damn again. Get a nissan sunny and put it against like a chaser or Peugeot of some sort. That'd be cool. Lol

I think they're nice. It'd be easy to make one a sleeper. It looks like a camry. Lol. Just nissans sweet version of a fun family car. Love nissan. They're so great. The lighter side of the car world, and much better side of the muscle car world. A car from factory that breaks your neck in turns.
Ryan Brown as a matter of fact, my nissan is a sleeper! got a swapped 550 HP engine, goes like the wind :) and i totally agree with nissan being an awesome family car!
What engine? what all mods do you have? I like the sunny, but I don't know too much about it, other than its somewhat similar to the cefiro and I think related to the prince.

This is the best example of what happened in British Touring car racing and euro rally racing. Big block camaros vs mini coopers. The V8's weren't a for sure win especially on tight tracks, but the moment you get a hint of a straight, the v8 is gone.
Seeing exhibition races between old Toranas/Falcons with minis in the mix is so good for that kind of action. Heaps of overtaking because of it lmao
It's so triply watching videos now where you guys are stripped down for summer weather, and watching these old videos in our summer when you were all bundled up for winter. It's very trippy.

The Commodore looks like the Chevrolet Corsica sold in the US but it never came with a V-8. It's crazy that a 5.0 is barely better than a 1.3. Amazing Turd!!

It just breaks my heart, Marty is so passionate and enthusiastic he says things in the heat of the moment, first time it cost him his gearbox and hurt his Subaru pride (although I also felt bad for Moog losing the S15, that was a much nicer car than the 180sx ever was and ever will be), here it cost him the Blue Turd...
I once had a car crushed, I didn't even like it all that much, but it hurt and I decided nothing will ever make me crush a car again.

165kW actually and tons of torque.
If it's anything like other GM V8s of the time (at least here in the US) it makes around double (sometimes a bit less) the torque compared to HP. Likely in the 350-400 ft-lbs range. In most cases on a track, torque trumps HP/kW in importance. That said, I can't imagine it handles terribly well.
This particular, unique to Australia, V8 made 410 N·m (300 lb·ft) of torque back in 1988. And, yeah, torque is what accelerates a car. It's a family car and handles like one too :)
It was built in the late 80s, 350hp was considered ferrari territory.
its shameful a 1989 Subaru liberty n/a 100kw and 190n-m on a 2.2L 4 cylinder so the commodore have 4 more cylinders over double the displacement and yet puts out only around 30 more kws

Kcufdurt Tnuc vw cc is a low coup/sallon , wiht better suspesion dual cluth gearbox and an engine to match not to forget the weight of the car is less then that truck or malon so to say it bluntly i would chop that ford

Hugh-Mungus Willie still wrong dude they don't lose THAT much power past the fly.
You do realise 165kw is the engine sitting there, it's not pushing 1300kg through a gearbox tailshaft and diff. Moderator was pretty much spot on anyway, my mate put his VS 5l on the dyno not even a month ago and punched out 196hp which is 146rwkw. Think before you type.

Considering Moog was driving what amounted to a Chevy Lumina with a malaise era V8, that is actually pretty sad. I didn't even know the Lumina came in a V8, my Grandmother had the exact same year in a 4 cylinder.

kenyj18 Accept for the Mondeo. You can get a 2005 Mondeo 150kkm for $3350 (USD for comparison) in NZ because that's how long the engines last. There's such a large number of them for sale I decided to give them a shot. I test drove one and it had the worst fog problem I'd ever seen, had to wind down the windows to see anything, the air conditioning didn't work at all and it's not an old car! The engine oil had coolant in it and was way over full. Such a shame when the car was still young. Opened the oil cap after the test drive and steam came out, smelled like compression getting into the rockers. Definitely a lemon.
Coulda been just that certain vehicle tho. Don't always believe the "good condition" story pre owners tell u. There's always that one who lies just to make a sale
kenyj18 Could have been just that vehicle but the mechanics we spoke to said steer clear of the Mondeos. There must be a reason that in general a Ford Mondeo cost as much as a Toyota that is 5 or more years older. As much as I didn't want to be mainstream I ended up following the advise of every mechanic and got a Toyota Corolla. I explored all options but everytime we view the cars and test drove them, they were dodgy and needed expensive repairs very soon OR had recently had very expensive repairs done, BUT they wanted far to much for what the cars worth.

I agree, I have a 1997 Silverado with the Vortec 350. But I still respect, (and fear), something small like a Vtec.
With the correct suspension mods, the Holden would have kicked butt. I own a Crown Victoria that I modified the suspension and added wider wheels/tires. I do autocross and have beat (and badly) smaller, more agile cars because of the way the suspension reacts.
yeah the reason its cold is because in Australia its winter and because i live in Victoria, its colder then somewhere like Queensland or Northern Territory because we are further away from the equator

Yes get it. The GTS hatchback is the most desirable model because it has the 4age engine and Takumi drove a hatch in Initial D. $4,500 isn't bad if the car is in good shape.

Depends, technically turbo is better but unless its setup perfectly there can be lag, superchargers don't build boost as you keep going but there is essentially no lag between when you hit the pedal and when you build boost. So: Turbo can build more power, but there is a lag period before you build boost. Superchargers don't build as much power, but there is no lag as they are belt driven instead of exhaust gas driven.
I really hope you guys didn't make him crush the Blue Turd. That car is cool for what it is. I totally understand the emotional attachment to a vehicle.

It all has to do with drivetrain layout. a classic FR layout deals with a bit of corner entry understeer just from the weight of the engine up front. V10 dodge vipers don't really turn. Anything with a V10 up front is hard pressed to turn in corners. The v10 you are refering to are MR.The engine is just in front of the rear tires so its weight adds traction.

like a rotary. theyre righteously small displacement motor's but make wicked power in comparison. even the "big" 4 rotor motor (say that fast) is only a 2.5l. its reliability that probably keeps them out of mainstream tuning. i love my v8, but respect is givin where its due.

I think they should really look into a mitsubishi GSR Lancer, turbo, all wheel drive, Australian/japanese goodness. And the amount of mods you can do to them is nuts!

They do actually, it's a Ford Falcon, which is basically same model as Typhoon! and JDM is Japanese Domestic Motors, basically like Hondas and sorts of cars from Japan!

The VN might be a boat, and you might say it has more cylinders than it needs, but its an aussie boat, and they are aussie cylinders, and for a boat, they drift damn good, the best part about them, from 1979 to 1997, they all fell and handle pretty much the same, so master one, and youll be kink in the rest of them. Then you get in a post 98 commodore, and then you get to drift a cathedral :)
If that was a VF2 Commodore, that would have SMASHED the BT. But the BT was a mad car.
