FUN FACT!! 📣📣📣 0:01 Did you know that the song they are singing "Da Coconut Nut" is a Philippine Novelty song written and composed by a National Artist of the Philippines, Mr. Ryan Cayabyab? 🇵🇭💕 3:44 There are different stages of coconut that can be differentiate from the state of its meat (texture) and juice (consistency). Arranged from the youngest one to the oldest; Tahod, Malauhog, Tagop, and Malakanin. Malauhog and Tagop are the ones which are perfect for dessert and beverage consumption. 👍
@@Yellow123Ninja Yes! I was surprised too as I just learned about it not too long ago. I thought it was a children song from another country but turns out it was a novelty song from the Philippines! 😂😂😂 Ryan Cayabyab even received an award from Philippine Coconut Association (PhilCoA) because of this song.
I think the Philippine government should give you an award or something for promoting our country and our food. Thank you for your love and effort, we really appreciate it ❤❤❤
I really thank you 형-jinyoung for introducing Filipino cuisine to foreigners! And I'm very excited for your #oppatour because it's really comiiiiiiing!! Yey! 🎉 PS. Ube is purple yam. The young coconut has a soft coco meat that's why it is used for desserts.
Bingsu has really fine shaved ice like snow but Halohalo uses rougher crushed ice, the mixing and occasional stabbing needed to break the ice makes it more fun 🤤
There are halo halo with fine shaved ice, my brother sells one and it taste better than mang inasal. A new famous store is also selling a fine shaved ice halo2x in cebu
thankyou for introducing Philippine foods. ang dame mo ng video ung napanuod ko. nakaka overwhelmed na isang banyaga ang nagpapakilala ng pagkaing pilipino sa kapwa nya banyaga.
I want Jinyong to be in PBB so that i can watch him on a daily basis and he has a good character and really loves our country. I want to watch him on a daily basis. Who's with me?
Thank you for promoting our country, culture, and food and also for the lecture i have learned from you.... thank you for introducing Philippines.. i hope someday you’ll be join at Pinoy big brother like Fumiya We really appreciate all of your vlog
Well for me Halo-halo in chowking is the best😋😋😋 When you came back to phillipines please try bilobilo(binignet)😋😋 By the thank you so much for your love in my country phillipines😉😉😉🌼
So cute... im from Philippines and i never been to burma and korea. I love thai foods been there 2007 hahaha so long wanted to go back. There are a lot of thai resto here as well
I really like your videos, Oppa. 😊 You really like Philippines. I suggest to try street food like isaw, kwek-kwek, betamax and also try Bicol Express! 😋
Young coconuts are used mainly for desserts/eating directly, the water is sweet and the meat is soft - firm. Old/brown coconut is mainly used for cooking (coconut milk) the water is bland so we usually don't drink it. The meat is very hard wich is why we grind it before we extract the milk.
Your love for the Philippines reminds me of myself,my love for Korea and Korean culture.I know that you genuinely love Philippines because the way you talk about our country and our foods is like how I talk to my friends about Korea too. We’re like endorsing each other’s country haha much love Jinyong oppa❤️
During summer, you can buy halo-halo from street vendors. Some people sell halo halo as seasonal business or just for fun. Many households simply put a small table outside their gates or main doors and sell halo-halo to passersby.
Young coconut has more tender meat that's why you can shred it like strings! The water is also sweeter than that of mature one. Mature coconut is mostly used for its milk!
Buko or young coconut is more tender and normally used as refreshing drinks or dessert whereas the old coconut is used for extracting coconut milk for cooking. Halo-halo is my favorite dessert as it will also have leche flan and buko in it.
Jinyoung is surely more Filipino than I'll ever be 😄 ...p.s.: old coconut is tough and thicker whereas young coconut is almost flimsy and sweet to taste. Buko salad is a must dessert for New Year's Eve.
The "old coconut"use for the dishes such as:bicol express, ginataang gulay, chicken curry and many more it depends of the province you go here in Philippines.the "young coconut"is ise for salad, buko salad rather and buko juice.
There's a big difference of young and old coconut. Young coco is used to eat fresh for salads and candies. While old cooco is for cooking dishes and making coco sugars and virgin coconut oils. And for hair conditioning.
Macapuno is really a different kind of palm fruit from coconut. The young coconut is what you use for buko juice and buko salad, while the older coconut is where you extract coconut milk from for cooking.
The difference between young and old coconut is the texture of the "meat." Young coconut will have softer and smoother/silkier consistency. The older the coconut gets the tougher and more chewy the meat becomea. Young coconuts are great for topping and desserts. Old coconuts are ideal for extracting coconut milk and oil.
I really hope that you will gain more subscribers. I love your videos and all.. And i love how you introduce Filipino culture to your fellow Koreans for that, I thank you. 🙏😘😊😍
Young coconuts are softer and is usually used in salads, old coconuts are firmer which are usually grated and milked so that it can be used on different kids of food cuisines
The young coconut has really soft meat (it was like jelly) while the old or aged coconut is the one most often use for milking and has a bit firm meat. Either coconut is still delicious and tasty. Please have some Buko Pie from Laguna, I'm not from Laguna but I definitely recommend 'Colette's Buko Pie' even the crust is so yummy.
Omoooo. Halo-halo is my favorite dessert😍 Oppa, The difference po of the young coconut between the old coconut is that, the later one have more soft meat(kernel) rather than the first one. 😊
ube is a root crop similar to potatoes. kamote(sweet potatoes), or taro - but its yeild is much bigger like a foot big and its deep in puprple color inside when sliced, used for ice cream , ube candies , binignit, ube jam and other delicacies in parts of ph as a signature ingredient
Hi Jinyong quick fact, did you know that the best traditional Leche Flan is made with the "itik egg yolk (kind of duck egg)" rather than the regular chicken egg? And it tastes so much better. I miss that kind of Leche Flan we used to make it when I was younger

Popularized by Smokey Mountain in the early '90s. I'm kind of surprised you didn't know until recently. I mean, the accent alone is a giveaway.
@@ifade26 I have a hard time listening to music with lyrics that's why. 🙁
Macapuno is the best.
