As a '70's and '80's kid I was always drawn to the Jim Aparo Bat covers and logo but those late '60's Bat covers and logo are really cool! The other night I scored FF#84 cgc 8.5 for just less than $100 and one of my favorite Aparo covers, Detective #444 cgc 8.0 for $45. Both from same seller, free shipping. I thought that was a deal. Alex, do you have a published list of your foundational list? I’ve spent several years adding to the width of my collection rather than the depth. I am considering making my next goal to upgrade books in my PC.
The Fantastic Four run 1-102 is a phenomenal reading experience!! It is crazy how many great keys there are in this Silver-age run! I enjoy reading them more than (dare I say it?) the Spider-Man run. Yup, there I said it! -But I just dig that awesome Kirby art!!
This is kismet! My LCS has an FF47 I've been eyeing - it's priced $40, I'm going to see if they'll give it to me for $30 cash! Thanks for the rec! I bought an FF81 from them already, I think it was $10-$15, great pickup!
Well, I'm back from "lunch" at my lcs and I was able to do a package deal of FF47 (for $30 from $40) and FF38 (from $45 to $35) for $75 cash, plus I used some bonus points I've accrued for a 15% discount, so $63 for the pair. They look to be 4.0 to 5.0, not bad! I am not the best at getting deals, so let me know if you think I did all right! After all, you pushed me into this! 🤣 Thanks for the info!
I absolutely love FF books! Glad you mentioned Crystal joining the FF as a key. I remember that book being an acknowled key for years, and now nobody seems to know or care.
I don't try to do whole runs either unless im just missing a few to have a whole run, but that isn't something i actively do. Lol. I do cover buys, which is actually probably worse on the wallet

Right now is the best time to buy all of the Silver Age FF keys especially Jack Kirby before any casts or updated MCU announcements.

STL Comics is a nice shop. I would also recommend Newcastle Comics in the St Louis area. You wont be disappointed!

All are great books. I think having a run of 1-100 of Fantastic Four would be really cool. There are so many keys in that run.

Same. I think FF is the best written silver age marvel title. I absolutely love it. I almost had a full run, but gave up on it.

I personally see no reason to own any of those books unless you are going for a complete run
