There was a summer festival in claregalway a few years ago. She was there. I briefly spoke with her. She’s a gem. I used to live down the street from her but I never got to see her until that day I spoke with her. This is a lovely video.
Only just discovered this video from 2020 and I'm really excited for Mary's Volume three and it's also wonderful to see her play music with her daughter, as well as to see where she's writing the third book from. I bought and worked through Volumes one and two during lockdown and they changed my life!
It is great to "see" my dear, dear friend Mary and her lovely daughter Ailbhe playing so beautifully together. (The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.) Thank you to Club Weltenklang for bringing this quality music from such quality musicians. All the VERY best, Bob
@@irishflutegirl9022 Mary's whistles look like either a Killarney or maybe a Sindt (both sound very similar & look similar too.) The one she plays a slow air on & then with her daughter is a Bb.
What i don't get - and this is as a whistle player - is her top hand posture is almost side-on. I'm pretty sure my hands would cramp immediately if i did that. Because she's so ridiculously good i'm almost tempted to try anyway in the hope that i acquire some talent

Greatest whistle player

Love the duet too on the Bb whistles.
Video enjoyed by all residents in our Nursing home in Ireland, thank you very much for posting.
In terms of the tin whistle, she is what i like to describe as the OG
Wonderful. Always such a delight to see her play.
