the thing is, these sports cars were designed to perform when new but after 20 years the rubber bushings are hard and brittle if not falling apart. ball joints are usually leaking through the rubber gaskets. control arms are probably running metal to metal. I replaced all of the bushings in my 04 Z and let me tell you it is like night and day. if you don't do solids then at least do urethane. I recommend solid and spherical bushings. it makes the Z handle like a Cayman. and this stuff is even cheaper in a Miata it's why racers love those cars so much.
ps. I never hit redline either. if you look at the peak torque for your car that's where you want to be and it's not at Red line.
Need to do all of this on my '94 miata, coilovers made a nice difference but kinda pointless when all your rubber is almost gone.
I can totally recomment purple Bushings from super pro. They're an Aussie Brand with very good rep around the world. They're not rock hard, they have very good fitment and the best: they don't squeak...not a tiny bit. But they're kinda pricey...
Hey! It's so true! The suspension is pretty shot and I just got the hubs / bearings replaced last week! Rolls much easier now, but they also told me my control arm bushings need to be replaced and are done for lol I will probably do those soon! I appreciate your comment! :)
Worth saying the peak torque ought not to be where you shift up - you want to power through the peak and over the other side a bit.
My Miata sat for about a year and a half before I was able to finally get it into a shop, and I randomly met a guy who’s son is a “Miata specialist”. He’s had the car for a while now and he’s just about done fixing it up. I can’t wait to have my favorite car ever back!

my 2006 STI has been in the shop for 4 weeks. I'm so sad that I can't go for a drive. All I got is a loaner car, a Dodge Journey. Not much fun to go for a drive lol

@@Kingpolo219 The problem is I don't know enough about cars to do that yet. Plus the guy before me modified the crap out of the car so it needed a completely new block and I'm trying to get things put back as close to stock as I can so it will last longer.

I have an NB which is very close to an NA, if a little more refined. Anyway I also thínk they deserve the hype. I really love this thing
i love the NB just miss the pop ups lol, it’s like a bit more of an adult car compared to the NA

I would love an NB!! After actually owning the NA you start to enjoy the driving experience more than the popups and then you can't help but think "dang, I wonder how that NB feels" haha would love to get behind the wheel of one someday! Appreciate you tuning in!
@@JohnnyB. That's why I got mine, spoke to Miata owners and came to the conclusion that the more refined NB would be the best choice for me. Both are great cars though and you really can't go wrong with either!

Is it good for a person thats getting their first car?
I have a red 1994 1.8 since about two months now.
I keep missing my old 1992 BRG 1.6 cause of nostalgia. But honestly the 1.8 is just SO much stronger. And has better brakes, better diff and better stiffness due to cabin brace and thicker control bar. The tires and allignment is wack to it wobbles at two specific speeds 50kmh and 100kmh. Which is exactly the city and freeway limits in the Netherlands.
I plan on keeping mine but might also sell it, im not sure. The scene has gotten so toxic with everyone painting waifus on doors, dumb camber, endless photo ops, hardtops that cost a kidney, and never driving it to the limit.
You hit the nail on the head my friend! The scene is definitely more toxic than it used to be. I think it will get better though :) Definitely gotta get behind the wheel of a 1.8 sometime soon, always wondered what the power difference was like! Hopefully someday! Appreciate your comment man!

I like the NA, I only wish it had airbags. I would be too scared of someone crashing into me.
I always wanted a NA miata but the price here is ridiculous. People are asking 6-8k euro for his already beaten up miata 💀NB is also around 5k.

I have one in my N/a and it is great! Keep the air bag. But its not a 3 spoke wheel like the N/b. Still a great option tho.

Great question! It's completely stock, just a Magnaflow performance muffler on the back! Sounds really clean without breaking the bank. I've been eye-balling the Racing Beat exhaust though, might have to pull the trigger soon! Appreciate your comment my friend!

Anytime i've damage my own cars I repaired them myself/out of pocket and never called my insurance (not that their bad)
Insurance just loves to hike up prices, used to have full coverage for 1300 for 1payment a year, one ticket then I moved to minumin coverage for 1300 a year.

I'm with you my friend. I definitely think it's a scam to a degree. They tried to total the car at $8,200 but re-evaluated the value of the car and found that it actually didn't total. I could tell they wanted the car for parts as no airbags went off, and the other 90% of the car was perfect, 87k original miles, etc... They could have parted that car out for like 30k based on the cost to fix it...glad it's being fixed and will still be a clean title in the end! More details coming in a future video! I can change it back! I was messing with some settings and found that the cars look like they're moving faster in POV at 30fps lol but 60fps is pretty buttery... I'll change it back for the next video haha

bro i know michigan has one of the worst insurance systems in the country, but youre only paying $90 for the Z???? i pay $120 for my doordash mazda 3, and $220 for my 4g eclipse (both in my name, the eclipse since i was 18,) shit is wack here. love the miata btw!!

Bodywork is damn expensive man. He has to basically replace and paint half fo the panels on his car. I know from experience and it’s not fun.
@@itstylerbains no doubt! But just get a new door, front fender and if you can find someone to help you out and do the body work for cheaper, sand and paint yourself if he’s really willing to do so. Can cut a couple G’s by doing that shit yourself
Hey, it's true, she wasn't completely destroyed! These cars with a clean title are worth like 14k and with a salvage title, like 8k so I didn't want to lose half of the money in the car... also, last year I spent 4-5 months sanding, doing all the bodywork myself and painting it so It was pretty sad seeing months of work go down the drain =/ Good learning experience, excited to get the car back soon though!
