I admire the effort. There are easier ways to do what you are attempting. No tilling required. I would suggest spraying down the grasses with Roundup. Once you have cleaned up the grasses, the smaller seeds can be spread on as you did, then pull a harrow section across the field a few times to get the seeds down, that's it! Wait for rain and you are good to go. I would also suggest Lacy Phacelia, its an awesome plant, the bees love it and you get several months of flowers. I seeded Phacelia along with clovers two years ago, but the grasses took over. So last fall I sprayed down the grasses again and will be seeding back with clovers and phacelia this spring.
This is an awesome technique and I've seen people use this that try to establish food plots for deers. I wanted to avoid the Round Up as I know thats not friendly to bees and didn't want to risk it. I'm going to try your suggestion of planting Lacy Phacelia it looks like a great bee friendly plant. Cheers and thanks for the comment.

roundup is poison to the bee and human ...
