I just did mine for first time. Didn't seem to need to compress piston...pushed it in a bit w hand. But new pads installed, slipped right back over disk. Brakes seem to work fine...did I miss something I should be worried about?
Hi mate, by the rear wheel, if I remember correctly I took the plastic cover off by the right foot and it was there. However I sold the bike a while ago so correct me if I’m wrong.
I had a clip fall out of the calliper the size of my pinky nail. Could it be the pad separator or anti rattle? Problem is I don't know where and how it goes back in
I'm aware it's pretty late, but in case someone is wondering, I think this "clip" you are talking about is for the pad to slide on. The pad that is not removed during the video. You can see the part in question around 1:44 in the video, near the axle on which you put the other pad (the axle where copper greased is put).
does any one else think the rear brake on the 650 versys , are pretty poor as stock. Mines a 2007. Bled it twice but still not that good compared to my 250 ninja.
Thank you for not taking about half an hour to show us all how knowledgeable you are and just showing us what to do.
Juicy Jamjar lol yeah that’s so annoying when they do that.

No, sounds like a good job!
Hello mate. Daft question but where have the hidden the reservoirs for the rear breaks.

@@PatchworkWelding I'll have a nose. Thank you.
Nice Video, the best i saw about this changing pads... i couldnt get the name or what is that cream that u use to keep the piston hydrated?
Regards from Panama (central america) :D
I tend to use Red Rubber grease...
Mission accomplished...
Thank you...
You are welcome!

Not sure, the only clip that I recall is the one that hold the guide pin in.
Jamie Liu I had the same clip fall out of my ninja 650 rear calliper. No idea where it goes
Probably on the road somewhere! 😳
A mechanic said it might be a little bit that broke off the anti rattle clip. Been riding without it seems fine so far :)

merci ça ma fait économisé de l'argent
Isn't there a retaining spring for the pads that no one seems to mention 🤔🤦
And we don’t bleed the brakes out because?
Because we are changing the pads not bleeding the brakes.
You didn’t remove the whole thing. I needed to see the the part you didn’t remove on the breaks.
linzee servatius I took the whole calliper off...what bit did you want off?
