That’s literally a glass cannon. Defense means no opening while offense means highest damage with opening. You literally could have a one shot build but traded for defense, you’re vulnerable to someone with equivalent attack or lesser attack and would still lose.

Glass only see Naofumi as a Heros ,because he was able to found ,& defeat the Soul Eater ,with his party of 2 people other then him , while the other 3 didn't do real damage to it, probably due to them use the same abilies
Daniel Sausaman yeah the 3 hero’s are getting stronger but they aren’t improving in skill or combinations it’s like any game that you play you can get to the highest level in cod or an rpg but without mastering your weapons skills to the max it can go it’s useless

Fun fact: Glass, despite being Naofumi’s enemie, was quite compasionate with him because her world suffured from the same issue of three legendary heroes being buffons while the four one suffured from back problems.

the ONLY reason naofumi lost to glass the first time is cause he wasn't allowed to class up. Had he classed up and leveled further he would have bodied glass like she did to the 3 stooges.
@@TheManBehindTheSlaughter6669 legendary heroes can't class up and can go above lvl 40 or even 100 without class up,but rapthalia and filo was stuck at lvl 40 because they were unable to class up at the time due to king and other bs,which means they lost 2x of the stats,so based of that,they would be able to challange glass,but naofumi would still only be able to tank same amount of damage at that time...also iron maiden is the most useless skill ever...

I see 3 generic idiots who uses the same Offensive attack with the lamest name ever without utilizing stealth, buff stacking, debuffing or combo beforehand. Who taught these idiots how to fight? Isn' the point of 3 on one is that you can have multiple people doing different things at once.
The worse is that stormtrooper around them. At least the three idiots did do something. Those guys pretty much a paper cut out who didn't even suffice as a meat shield or revive dispenser... speaking of reviving...did they just go down in one hit...a bird last freaking longer... no brain and no stamina...OH MY GOD
And what with this lack of mobility... movement is power... stall her, do an acrobat, dodge at this point they are signing up to die.
Naofumi, on the other hand, should do a tactical retreat the moment he knew he is too under level and lure glass to a better terrain but then again he is not that experience so I will give that tactical error a pass. But he do prove his potential by utilizing an item, teamwork, feint and creative use of his defensive and offensive option. Glass might him lacking but she will have to give him a medal for trying.
So yes I can only see one competent 'hero' here.

I'm really hoping Ren gets some redemption later on. He's the only one he seems to not be completely self absorbed as he was able to identify and admit his mistake when Naofumi told him about the Dragon mess he left behind.

MSD Kagura A good portion of the light novel volumes are translated officially. Around 15 or so, can’t recall the exact figure. Other than buying those, it’d be looking online. It’s typically easier to find fan translations than official releases online. I enjoyed the series enough to buy the paperbacks myself.
Around vol 11 of the LN is when Ren get's his redemption arc.

I'm obsessed with Glass' theme. It not only is just a killer track, but it fits so well. It evokes the sense that something or someone bigger and far more menacing than what the Shield crew have faced so far has just stepped on the scene.
Like everything else has been trivial compared to now.
Love it.
As we see here, the ‘cowardly and incompetent hero’ is able to take on Glass without even hesitation or even falling once, while the other three are defeated immediately. Let that sink in
Not to mention they weren't that high a level compared to the rest of the 'heroes'
To be fair, it's not like he was really able to do anything to her at this point. Naofumi had the advantage of having a great defense, which the other three kinda lack. If he had any other weapon that was geared towards offense just like the others, Naofumi would've been just as useless as the others.
What's really impressive is how Raphtalia and Filo were able to put up more of a fight than the other three heroes. The other three went down immediately after getting off a single attack and didn't even get back up until after Glass left.
The other heroes at this point has 50% more lvls then Naofumi and his party (naofumi Raphtalia and Filo where more or less lvl 40 while the other heroes where between lvl 60-72)
For some reason, what really makes this fight for me is Naofumi's expressions. It's probably just how much older he looks, and how tired and desperate his expression is the whole fight. It really sells it as a genuine over levelled boss fight. His face is the feeling of throwing everything you have at a boss and watching all of it slowly fail.
When the Janitor Hero (tank btw) does more damage than the damage dealers

They say that they play RPGs when the three douchebag heroes was in their world, but is it common sense that you DON’T attack an unknown boss WITH THE SAME ELEMENT!?!
Yeah, tells me they weren't really good.
The main problem with virtually any RPG game is that the easiest solution is, ironically, never to use a different element but use so much of a certain element that resistances can't keep up with the sheer damage output. The 3 stooges are all in that kind of mindset, so they fail when elemental immunity is a thing and have literally no fallback plans either.

If we're going the Final Fantasy route, meteor is heavy non-elemental damage and can't be resisted. That's what I assumed was going on at least, and why they seem to default to it so often.

Fun fact: The word 'Rondo' that Glass uses when saying her abilities is defined as a musical form with a recurring leading theme, often found in the final movement of a sonata or concerto (according to Oxford Languages). The soundtrack that plays during this fight is also a Rondo I believe.

It's Kevin Penkin again. That guy is one of the most creative composers imo. I hope he gets more exposition because i'm a real fanboy of his work and proud to announce it. The OST in Made in Abyss made it from a very good anime to a phenomenal one and at the very least this scene proves, he actually understands for what he is composing. Young and talented!

When the DPS are throwing and you gotta carry as the Tank.
It happened to me a lot in Overwatch. Highest damage dealt + highest damage stopped + gold/silver medal for kills. Didn't matter, if I played Reinhardt/D'va/Orisa I outdamaged them all as a tank. It felt weird I managed to do dps and cover others even in 2 dps + 2 tanks + 2 supports composition, when I was not the only tank around.
Didnt know Naofumi and his party had a name change and are now called "Four Heroes" good for them!
When Glass called the other heroes Naofumi's servants I couldn't help but be reminded of Infinity War when Ebony Maw said "Stonekeeper, does this chattering animal speak for you?"
Besides that, man it is cool how Glass fights. Also I just figured out why her name is Glass. It's Glass as in stained glass. Stained with your blood!

Glass canon she does a lot of damage but weak to attacks just that she is such a higher level that the weakness she would have is not seen.

Now they use Meteor stuff when fighting glass.

If I play FGO like those three dolts I expect G&A, Hinako Green and VSQ senpai to murder my ass off... no buff stack, no invul, no crit-star and no HEALING WHILE GOING BERSERKER...they are asking to get their ass kick...
The three heroes are basically the dolt who use under level Arjuna, Fion and Np1 Saber Lily at skills1/1/1 to fight Lv 90 boss... Naofumi, on the other hand, is the type who used maxed out Han, Ku, and Regend...sadly he didn't have a grail or else he will already win
Whenever me and my friend both ran mages, we always had one of us do the element the other was not. I was Arcane and ice. He was Fire and Ice. We only went double ice if we knew were up against ice weak mobs.
But boy, I remember I would play support with Ice sometimes as he burns them up with fire as they are slowed/trapped. It worked well since he usually had better gear than me on the mage. Plus I beleive firecspecialization in Wow for a mage was the fastest DPS in terms of speed to dish out constant heavy hits.
My main was a Druid. I didnt start as a healer but now, I love it too much to stop despite still likening and starting off with DPS.
My 2nd was a Rogue, my favorite DPS in WOW.
In the Light Novel, these skills were the strongest ones the heroes could get at the time, it was from a very rich country with a lot of op weapons. Essentially it was a late game town. That’s why, when they saw glass who one shotted the Soul Eater, they immediately tried to go all out
I just love how the action sequence perfectly matches with Glass's theme song each time she appears in the series. That's why The Rising of the Shield Hero is one of my favorite of all time!

I’m shocked that the meteor attacks used here are used later on in the season and show little damage, I don’t understand how the three heroes don’t realise that meteor attacks don’t always work... but they still use them anyway...

They are also known as the three stooges for a good reason.
The world really never plays fair for Naofumi, does it? L,arc and Glass are both incredible! Even just one or the other of them is still stronger than all three of our cardinal stooges put together.

I don't know if anyone has pointed this out, but the three stooges just go for strong weapon skills, never thinking of actually being good in combat. That's why, according to Glass, Naofumi is the only hero when this happens.

The music track was honestly the best part of this scene
I found it amusing how Glass called the three stooges Naofumi's "mere servants." That was pretty satisfying due to how incompetent they are as people, often doing their own thing, refusing to work together, and moreso looking out for themselves over the world their in.
Guess it just goes to show that you really SHOULDN'T judge a hero based on their weapon alone. Yeah, Naofumi's shield lacks offensive capabilities, but that doesn't mean he's useless.

The Dimentional Soul Eater had a Light weakness, and her element seems to be fire, so water magic should work on her.
I can understand Naofimy not knowing how to choice his attacks, but the other heroes should be more adept, at least thats what they claimed at the start.
It magic draining sp spells that her weakness her body gains power though spirits easy to weaken her and damages her body at the same time .
Best Isekai Hero team-up:
Naofumi = Fighter
Rimiru = Mage
Kazuma = Thief
They'd practically and usefully deal with every boss, problem or threat.
So, Glass is like a ghost type pokemon, in the sense of be inmune to some kind of attacks, and only very vulnerable to specific elements.
I suddenly had the worst feeling. Every muscle in my body was tense.
There was an overpowered sense of dread. It was so powerful the soul eater we’d defeated was nothing in comparison.
What was going on?
There was a shuffle, and a person’s shadow fell over us all.

Either she took the blast with no trouble or the three Stooges cancelled eachother's attacks by aiming directly at the same spot
As much as I'd love for that to be the case because they are only good for messing up I'd prefer if she was just that strong 😂

it would make sense how vassal weapon wielders are much better and more powerful than the cardinal heroes considering they have used their weapons for a while and gotten the hang of them before the cardinal heroes are summoned.
In this case, Glass uses 4 methods of improvement: the vassals, fan, ship, scythe and the holy hunter. That is the reason why he is stronger than everyone.
Thought there attacks canceled each other out but in this fight and priest they seem to work perfectly fine to me.

i like how it's shown that not naofumi is truly op hero, or the better one. heroes from the other world seem to be at his level of skill and power, meaning that it's only the 3 heroes that are just truly weak

She is not actually OP it's just that she have this passive ability that make all her stats ( including defense ) higher with her level of SP(mana ) . The trick to actually land hit on her is to drain her SP ( mana) .

Can someone please explain why her attack is called "reverse four seasons" when it's basically just air cutter from Pokémon, this bothers me immensely and I would love if someone were to explain it to me
