Even more so is that since he gave one of his swords to the Minotaur he isn’t fighting in his normal style. Hell he doesn’t even go into the dungeon except for when Freya asks. Yet he is still so strong and likely will get stronger.
I liked Ottar when I first saw him and thankfully the anime has so far managed to deliver with him. Though it helps that he's not usually a regular player.

It be interesting to know where Ottarl's loyalty to Freya stems from. He is pictured as a brute but that short scene with Fiin shows he has wisdom even though it is a definite order from Freya to stop anyone from interfering with Bell.
Well technically Freya didn't actually order him. Ottar understood Bell's "wall"/trauma better then Freya did so she let Ottar do whatever he believed best for Bell's growth.
Yeah,he can kill any level 6,in front of his strength ,even Finn's strategy would pale if 1vs1. And as a warrior ottar is the peak one currently since Spoilers.... He is the only active adventurer left who has clashed with Zeus and Hera familias,he clashed with them many times even though Every single clash ended in his defeat. And his level ups of 6&7 were due to Zeus and Hera familias. I think ottar is close to them in skills after all this time. Even though Finn,riveria and Gareth also are stronger in skills and strategy than all of the others ,they are not equal to ottar now.
After reading LN, this fight becomes so much more intense. In the LN, Aiz almost never uses ariel against a human, apart from a few exceptions, so seeing her activate it straight away just shows how desperate she is.

Ottar is a level 7 with Class S stats so he is technically a level 8, lol. They might be holding off on making him level 8 to avoid expeditions. Also, He's the only adventurer who goes down in the deeper levels alone. Loki familia will be destroyed if they actually clash against Freya in full power.

Fun fact : when Ottarl was in 3/4 level ,there were many level 9/10 in that time. Sadly, they got wiped fighting 3 great monster which eascaped from the dungeon.
Yep the highest was the Captain of Hera Family she was lvl 9 and the second was lvl 8 the captain of Zeus Family , but those are only the ranked commanders , the strongest in the entire Danmachi history was Aiz dad , Albert AKA the last Hero , he fought the Black Dragon 1v1 without blessing.

I was just looking through RUclips one day and I couldn't find any Ottar vs Aiz videos, so I decided to upload my own. I didn't expect it to get so many views, I only did it because it's one of my favorite fight scenes in the anime and I felt it wasn't being represented properly. I've been considering uploading the dubbed version of this fight as well as a few other good fight scenes not really found on RUclips. So you can have that to look forward to.

Finn gives off the air that he could beat you to your knees with just his wits alone. And yes, he can regarding who his character is based on. But the fact that he doesn't need to show that he can is in and of itself terrifying to think about.
I saw some comments here saying that Ottarl was scared of an all out war between Freya and Loki Familia and that Loki Familia would beat Freya Familia. Spoilers I hate to break it to you but Freya Familia is a Familia of Warriors fighting eachother till death every chance they get. Infact once Freya ran away from the Familia HQ which led to the Freya Familia to look for her in Orario, this alarmed Loki Familia because they thought that Freya Familia was attacking Orario so they also went out taking on Freya Familia which led to Freya Familia thinking that Loki Familia has kidnapped their goddess. Freya Familia proceeded to hunt down Loki Familia members and at that time even Riveria one of the top 3 of loki familia nearly got killed by the assault of the Grimgars. Again. Freya Familia is a Familia containing Berserkers which do nothing but fight eachother all day, to prove their love to Freya. While Loki Familia is a dungeon expedition Familia with barely any hand to hand combat experience. They just know how to efficiently kill monsters.
Now that volume 14 is out and the loki familia top 3 are level 7s it becomes a bit more even. i wonder if the freya familia lv 6 elves are gonna level up soon
You are making the episode mentioned in EF to look far greater than it was. It was only said that the incident almost ended in an all out war and that the Gulliver Brothers almost killed Riveria (which isn't that amazing considering Riveria, while able to fight, is still a mage) and we don't even know how that came out to be. Also, being a familia that focuses mostly on fighting monsters doesn't mean you are useless against people. Ais herself is a killing monster machine and she was shown to have experience. There's also the aspect that, while Freya familia has strong individuals with experience, they have no teamwork, which was already shown to matter a lot

Well Ottar is a really interesting and complex character, now that the autor is writting the story that took place like 10 years before, about the two last members of the Zeus family, we're going to know more about him and how he became the strongest man in Orario.
Not the world? I know there's another level 7 out there but Ottar seems to have the advantage since his access to the dungeon lets him hone his skills further.
Ottar isn't dumb enough to speak in Freya's stead. What Finn did was his only move to avoid getting killed. He reminded Ottar that he was starting a war without Freya's consent.
It should be ridiculous to have a full strength level 7 fight like 3 level 6s and a couple of level of 5s and it be anything other than a massacre. Going by the logic of the rest of the series that's been built up a full strength person a level above you is ridiculously out of your league unless you have a big numbers advantage, a big spell you've been chanting or they're heavily injured. It shouldn't even be a believable bluff. If the Loki family was full strength then yes it's question against the Freya family but with only a couple of them there Ottar would just massacre them 100%.
Based on the information from Volume 16: Freya familia would wipe the floor against Loki familia. Since Ottarl can handle the Fin's party that was shown in this video. And they also have several level 6s and 5s in their arsenal

I wonder how a war between the Loki and Freya Familia would end up cause we know there powerful but not as powerful as the Zeus Familia but it would be interesting
Yeah, even though I'm pretty sure Loki familia has more members and they're usually around level 4 or 3, they have several first class adventurers as well, it doesn't matter. Even though Loki familia has more level 6's they're mostly physical attacker. Ottar outclasses any physical fighter in the series by far. You can see it in this clip where he holds back Ais with tempest and it takes 2 other level 6's to help her get past him. Keep in mind in this fight Ottar had no intention of getting to serious, he was defending the almost the entire fight and only swung his sword twice. Also (SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN"T READ THE LN'S) right before bell's fight with Asterius, Asterius encounters Ottar and says something along the lines of, "If I had both my arms, no even if I had both my arms I still wouldn't be able to beat him" or something like that (Someone pls correct me on that I know I butchered it). This is the same Asterius that took hits from Bete, Tione, and Tiona at full force and was smiling at them. The only one who did any major damage to him was Ais because of her tempest. Of Gareth and Finn are out of that equation but Ottar can handle them pretty easily (If it's all of them at once I don't know about that but we'll see). I assume you already know about Loki familia's expedition to the 59th floor. Well Ottar did something similar, except he went down to the 49th floor, half killed the floor boss, and came back alive. But that's not what's amazing, what's amazing is he did it all completely by HIMSELF. Unlike the loki familia who took all of their top members and many of their second tier members, he did it alone. And all of that was assuming he was alone, Freya familia also has level 6 Allen Fromel, Vana Freya. He could probably take on bete or the hiryute sisters, and that would leave ottar with even less to deal with. And then their's the gulliver brothers, all level 5, who if they joined together could take down a level 6. And that's just counting the physical attackers. I also assume that you know about Riveria, Nine Hell. I believe she's the strongest mage (Human, don't know if their are stronger ones that aren't, doubt it though) in Orario at the very least. However, Freya has two level 6 mages of her own that could at least hold her back while the rest of Freya familia deals with the attackers. Oh and if she wanted to Freya could call back Mia Grand ( Former Captain of the Freya familia, Level 6 ) who could take one their high class members as well.

Like Ottar said in training with Aiz, Aiz at the time were unable to show her capabilities because she been holding back against humans opponents. Aiz when he encounters Ottar in SO Vol 4, hold back her magic skill because she didn't want to kill him. Aiz was able to injure Asterius because she incorporate Avenger Skills within it. If Aiz do avengers skill black wind against Ottar, it won't be easy for Ottar. Finn and Aiz could team up against Ottar since Ottar said that him and Finn are the only adventurers in the city who pretty used to combat against people. About the 4 prum lvl5 of Freya, its only an oppinion that they could take down any First Class adventurers. Riveria's magic easily surpassed Duo elves lvl 6 of Freya Familia's magic since their occupation were just 'magic swordsman' not a 'cast mage' like Riveria.We knew how powerful Riveria's skills when she was given a squad of elf and proceeding took Revis arm. Bete could hold back against Allen. Garreth vs Mia if Mia ever joined the fight since she already retired. It useless to compare who is stronger cause both Familias have their own skills and trump card that could overturned the battle.
Novaldy Tuela Revis can’t be lv7. She had a hard time dealing with Aiz at the beginning of lv6 and she hardly fought back to Finn who was likely to be at the end of lv6 so Revis might be somewhere at the beginning of lv6.

Ottar is the pinnacle of all Adventurers, but in the manga he himself stated that if Finn, Riveria and Gareth, the strongest level 6s, teamed up against him he has *no chance of winning* Rest of Freya familia's elites can be taken out by Loki familia's Vanargand and Hyrute sisters. Also, Lefiya despite how much i dislike her character, she's pretty much a nuke for a level 4.
I thought this guy died and I was like "SO wait, A level 7 died to a Minotaur that a level 1 that turned into a level 2 could beat??" And than I realized what was happening and he never finished the Minotaur and just left bell to die.
In V18? While they could directly help, the entire pointof the War Game itself would be pointless and would go down to just Loki vs Freya Familia and not Hestia vs Freya.

If I remember I think he was abandoned as a child or something along those lines and Freya found him and raised him

I think Zald from the Zeus familia in this series is more based on Guts than Ottarl. And Ottarl's personality is very different than Guts'.

You are making the episode mentioned in EF to look far greater than it was. It was only said that the incident almost ended in an all out war and that the Gulliver Brothers almost killed Riveria (which isn't that amazing considering Riveria, while able to fight, is still a mage) and we don't even know how that came out to be.
Also, being a familia that focuses mostly on fighting monsters doesn't mean you are useless against people. Ais herself is a killing monster machine and she was shown to have experience. There's also the aspect that, while Freya familia has strong individuals with experience, they have no teamwork, which was already shown to matter a lot
Just wait until you all see Asterios Vs Bell the rematch, that was hype as hell in the LN

Well Ottar is a really interesting and complex character, now that the autor is writting the story that took place like 10 years before, about the two last members of the Zeus family, we're going to know more about him and how he became the strongest man in Orario.
Not the world? I know there's another level 7 out there but Ottar seems to have the advantage since his access to the dungeon lets him hone his skills further.
I would've loved to hear Ottar reply to Finn: And do you think you all can possibly win against us?
Ottar isn't dumb enough to speak in Freya's stead.
What Finn did was his only move to avoid getting killed. He reminded Ottar that he was starting a war without Freya's consent.
It should be ridiculous to have a full strength level 7 fight like 3 level 6s and a couple of level of 5s and it be anything other than a massacre. Going by the logic of the rest of the series that's been built up a full strength person a level above you is ridiculously out of your league unless you have a big numbers advantage, a big spell you've been chanting or they're heavily injured. It shouldn't even be a believable bluff. If the Loki family was full strength then yes it's question against the Freya family but with only a couple of them there Ottar would just massacre them 100%.
Based on the information from Volume 16: Freya familia would wipe the floor against Loki familia. Since Ottarl can handle the Fin's party that was shown in this video. And they also have several level 6s and 5s in their arsenal
@@assistant6771 Sure but maybe some of the Freya family would die as the fighting goes on so there's reason to hesitate and not give lives away for no reason. But there's none of that here. None of them should have any have a fraction of a chance of even significantly wounding Ottar.

Yeah, even though I'm pretty sure Loki familia has more members and they're usually around level 4 or 3, they have several first class adventurers as well, it doesn't matter. Even though Loki familia has more level 6's they're mostly physical attacker. Ottar outclasses any physical fighter in the series by far. You can see it in this clip where he holds back Ais with tempest and it takes 2 other level 6's to help her get past him. Keep in mind in this fight Ottar had no intention of getting to serious, he was defending the almost the entire fight and only swung his sword twice. Also (SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN"T READ THE LN'S) right before bell's fight with Asterius, Asterius encounters Ottar and says something along the lines of, "If I had both my arms, no even if I had both my arms I still wouldn't be able to beat him" or something like that (Someone pls correct me on that I know I butchered it). This is the same Asterius that took hits from Bete, Tione, and Tiona at full force and was smiling at them. The only one who did any major damage to him was Ais because of her tempest. Of Gareth and Finn are out of that equation but Ottar can handle them pretty easily (If it's all of them at once I don't know about that but we'll see).
I assume you already know about Loki familia's expedition to the 59th floor. Well Ottar did something similar, except he went down to the 49th floor, half killed the floor boss, and came back alive. But that's not what's amazing, what's amazing is he did it all completely by HIMSELF. Unlike the loki familia who took all of their top members and many of their second tier members, he did it alone.
And all of that was assuming he was alone, Freya familia also has level 6 Allen Fromel, Vana Freya. He could probably take on bete or the hiryute sisters, and that would leave ottar with even less to deal with. And then their's the gulliver brothers, all level 5, who if they joined together could take down a level 6.
And that's just counting the physical attackers.
I also assume that you know about Riveria, Nine Hell. I believe she's the strongest mage (Human, don't know if their are stronger ones that aren't, doubt it though) in Orario at the very least. However, Freya has two level 6 mages of her own that could at least hold her back while the rest of Freya familia deals with the attackers.
Oh and if she wanted to Freya could call back Mia Grand ( Former Captain of the Freya familia, Level 6 ) who could take one their high class members as well.

Like Ottar said in training with Aiz, Aiz at the time were unable to show her capabilities because she been holding back against humans opponents. Aiz when he encounters Ottar in SO Vol 4, hold back her magic skill because she didn't want to kill him. Aiz was able to injure Asterius because she incorporate Avenger Skills within it. If Aiz do avengers skill black wind against Ottar, it won't be easy for Ottar. Finn and Aiz could team up against Ottar since Ottar said that him and Finn are the only adventurers in the city who pretty used to combat against people. About the 4 prum lvl5 of Freya, its only an oppinion that they could take down any First Class adventurers. Riveria's magic easily surpassed Duo elves lvl 6 of Freya Familia's magic since their occupation were just 'magic swordsman' not a 'cast mage' like Riveria.We knew how powerful Riveria's skills when she was given a squad of elf and proceeding took Revis arm. Bete could hold back against Allen. Garreth vs Mia if Mia ever joined the fight since she already retired. It useless to compare who is stronger cause both Familias have their own skills and trump card that could overturned the battle.
Novaldy Tuela Revis can’t be lv7. She had a hard time dealing with Aiz at the beginning of lv6 and she hardly fought back to Finn who was likely to be at the end of lv6 so Revis might be somewhere at the beginning of lv6.

Rest of Freya familia's elites can be taken out by Loki familia's Vanargand and Hyrute sisters. Also, Lefiya despite how much i dislike her character, she's pretty much a nuke for a level 4.
I thought this guy died and I was like "SO wait, A level 7 died to a Minotaur that a level 1 that turned into a level 2 could beat??" And than I realized what was happening and he never finished the Minotaur and just left bell to die.
