Paid my respect to mr lee in 1986 it quite a trek from bonnie Scotland.I still have the photo of me by grave on my bedside unit.I was also at the mandarin film festival as a 16 year old with a guy called mark and the Legendary Maggie smith,Who was one of the biggest lee collectors in the uk.Mark was a projectionist and had all the lee films on 16mm..As for the saw scene in the big boss I can’t remember seeing it..keep up the good work❤
Really enjoying the Bruce Lee content, Stripey. I've been rediscovering his films recently. As a kid in the 90s I bought the Rank Bruce Lee videos from a carboot sale and I watched them over and over again. I was so excited to find them, I became a fan when I watched Game of Death as a kid, my dad had rented it from a video rental shop the night before. I woke up earlier than everyone else and after watching it I was hooked. My dad woke up and told me about the back story to it, how he never actually finished the film. I was too young to properly understand it at the time, but I did get a feeling like it's like art imitating life. It's nice to discover your channel and it coincides with me discovering some of the most enjoyable films of my childhood. It's also really nice to see the really nice posters that you've made,Stripey, I'm really impressed. I must say that I do like the Golden Harvest films a lot more than Enter the Dragon. It's my least favourite Bruce Lee film. Don't get me wrong, I like the fight scenes, I just think Warner Bros were trying to play it safe far too much with what is basically a James bond script. And having two supporting actors I felt detracted from Bruce, who is the real star. I know that it was a different time. But I would have been even better if Bruce had got to finish Game of Death and Warner Bros got the distribution rights instead
ETD was the flim bruce lee was trying to make all his life , bruce with this flim acheived his lifes ambition in becoming a world international star and putting hongkong on the world map ,,yes its james bond type ,,but being made in 1973 the world needs to take a bow ,,its the greatest martial arts flim of all time ,,over 50 years later no martial arts flim have come close , but you might disagree,,unless you like van dam flims the joker 😊

Hello stripey I've been watching all your latest videos o n bruce lee and I've really enjoyed all of them great work pal.just an update I've received an email from zavvi that my bruce at golden harvest is due for delivery tomorrow the 15th WOW can't wait.keep up the good work .
Hi there Stripey, with regards to your being miffed re your artwork I totally agree, this is at the very least bad manners and at the other end of the scale it may constitute copyright infringement. I for one would be annoyed if this type of thing happened to me, so you are right to be annoyed . We always look forward to your videos and as a 64 year young Bruce Lee fan who used to organise Bruce Lee convention here in Scotland in conjunction with an organisation called Martial club. Like you I am going to Seattle next year as part of a cruise and my wife and I will be going to pay our respects to Bruce and Brandon. I have been collecting Bruce Lee merch since 1974 and have retained all of my collection through the years. Thank you for the Bruce Lee content, I have pre ordered the 4k discs of the Golden Harvest box set as well as the Enter the dragon 4k special edition. Thank you for your channel. From George Brannan Glasgow Scotland
Hey, George. Thank You. I'm okay with the book now (I was a little pee'd off). I guess that's what happens when you post on a Facebook group. Wow, you have been collecting Bruce Lee stuff for a long time, mate, I bet you're collection is amazing. I've always wanted to visit Lakeview Cem & pay my respects to Bruce & Brandon. Enjoy your cruise, my friend. Not long now until we get our Arrow sets (I can't wait) Thanks again fella 👍
@@StripeyR Thank you for your kind reply, once I finish redecorating our home { ordered by the wife } I would like to send you some images of some of the items I have in my collection { If this is okay with you }. Please keep up the excellent work that you do both my wife and I really enjoy your content.. Kindest regard s George Brannan
If people at least gave credit and a way 2 get ahold of the person who did art work ? That could be advertisement !!! Share the love!! Great job on covers brother!!
Hi Stripey, Sorry to hear this, a little tough to hear, as you were shocked 😳😱, I guess it comes to down to a person’s morals, I personally would of asked especially if one’s using material & making money out of it, but what a well put together book of Bruce Lee 😎👍thanks for sharing 👊
No. I think you should be honoured, it happens, and the same as happened to me, I have made over 200 different designs of various subjects including Bruce Lee on custom Zippo Lighters and I have had my work lifted and copied on to Posters, Tin plate signs, Promotional Items,on Websites and in Magazines and Books etc. My work was for the love of my hobby and I don't do much new stuff any more but overtime people had seen it,liked it and used it. Some to make a pure profit and others because they love my hobby as much as me. At the end of the day it spreads the word, Thanks for the detailed Video I enjoyed it.
I'm a Bruce Lee fan like you. I didn't know until years later that Bruce Lee ( Lee Siu Lung) choreographed some Shaw Brothers movies. " Oath of death", the Delinquent" " the lizard" plus others. Keep up the good work on sensei Lee Siu Lung. Have a great day.
Hey there, Stripey! I completely agree with your feelings of frustration and believe you have every right to be upset about this blatant disregard for your hard work and creative rights. Artistic expression is a deeply personal and vulnerable process. When someone takes advantage of an artist's talent and exploits it for their own gain, it not only undermines the artist's effort but also disrespects the integrity of the artwork itself. Your dedication and passion are evident in every stroke and detail of your creations, and it's disheartening to see someone use your work without giving you the recognition and compensation you deserve. Taking legal action to seek compensation is a valid and important step towards protecting your artistic rights. Copyright laws exist precisely to ensure that artists like you are respected and fairly compensated for their contributions. By pursuing this course, you are not only defending your own rights but also standing up for the broader artistic community. While it's regrettable that such situations arise, it's crucial to remember that you have the support of many fellow artists and fans who recognize the value of your talent and creativity. We stand united with you, urging others to respect and appreciate the effort and dedication that goes into creating meaningful art. In conclusion, Stripey, I want you to know that I am on your side. Your artwork is a manifestation of your unique perspective and imagination, and no one should exploit it without your permission. I encourage you to pursue the legal avenues available to you to ensure that you receive the compensation and recognition you deserve. Remember, you have a strong community backing you up, and together, we can make a difference and protect the rights of artists everywhere.
Hi stripey,,your video's on bruce lee are getting better and better with each video and todays with the new bruce lee new books i enjoyed ,,you are a star 🌟 and iam looking forward to yr next bruce lee video ,,i definitely would pay you to talk abt the facts on bruce lee , well done 😊
Enjoyed the clip but as you pointed out you made your version of the posters of the movie’s a AWSOME yes you have done your research so yes I would be annoyed to keep the faith ✌🏾RIP BRUCE LEE 🐉
I feel for you Stripey, the same happened to me on the Bowie scene. Paul Kinder of bowiewonderworld claimed copyright for my photos and promoted his bullshit fantasies with Bowie concert tickets my wife had gifted him. It is very frustrating. Hopefully karma will prevail. Love and peace.
It is extremely cheeky of them. I guess if queried they’ll claim that anything on the internet is fair use. The book does look good & I’d be honoured to see my artwork in there, but also miffed that I didn’t get any acknowledgment.
Just starting to watch your videos very interesting, I'm more a Brandon Lee collector but also with Bruce Lee mixed in. You meation about getting to Seattle, will be worth every minute. I went there last November also about 10 years ago pay respects amazing. Not forgeting the Space Needle lovely views. Also did Hong Kong saw the Lee's home before they pulled it down plue the Hong Kong Heritage Museum with loads of original Bruce stuff amazing. Think I would also be a little upset knowing your work is in a book you didn't know about, Keep up the good work. 👍
No. NOPE!..Had nooo idea , nice do get a mention (didnt) would be nice to maybe get a copy of it free for using my artwork !! I guess i see it as a compliment but a back handed one.. but you are 100% correct this is my ART :/ and yours mate . Thank you so much for informing me , now if anyone can give me his email ??? Yeah , its only polite to tag, give a shout out to the artist at least ... its happened before to me over the years with prints being made and sold to t-shirts LOL again a superb video my friend ! and thank you buddy .
Thanks, Steve. I recognise you're art straight away, mate. A free copy of the book would have been nice. I guess it's a form of flattery (to be included) but it would have been much better to have been asked. cheers fella 👍
Yeah, i would be pissed off as well, but Mr Cheung must admire yours and the others work perhaps, yeah and all the same he could have asked. Great posters you made on the Big Boss etc.
You have a case here for sure buddy. Sure the publishers won't want to go to court, so maybe a little civil settlement. Looks a great book but its put me off buying it a little if they are pocketing from this
Yes brother, you should be miffed. It aint right that someone can use your art for their book without acknowledgement or permission. Its taking the proverbial that, get in touch with the publisher and give em a colourful ramble. Also I am all for your merch, and will gobble it up like a cat on some cream. Cannot wait mate, to get your stuff. It looks the business. Wattaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

It sounds like you're a little angry. What surprises me is that with the experience you have, you are not used to these things.
I had the same thing from a few sellers who were advertising Bruce painted head sculpts. You may have seen my custom painted Bruce heads and statues on the Bruce groups. These individuals were using my custom painted work to advertise their products. I actually contacted each one and they have removed the images. I have been asked by some sellers if they can use my pics of completed 3D prints of models I have bought from them to advertise the completed project. I agree to that as they credit me with the painting of the statue.
That's fair enough, if they ask & credit the creator. I'm not too peeved off,. Once I posted them on Facebook, I knew they'd be downloaded & uploaded elsewhere. It is what it is I guess. cheers fella 👍
Your are totally right, Stripey. The copyright of your artwork belongs to you, and it doesn’t matter if you have put it on Pinterest or whatever it’s not for public use. As this author is making money from it you could probably sue for loss of income. He should have at least contacted the various artists, if possible, and asked for permission to use, maybe sending you a free copy for goodwill. Nice looking book though! 😂
It's a great looking book, mate. 😁I'm indifferent really, a part of me is pleased in a way (it would have been nice to be asked or get a free copy tho) but hey ho. Cheers fella 👍🏻
@@StripeyR, yeah I’ll probably pick up a copy, it does look good. And of course, as you’ve highlighted it on your channel it will probably sell out! Another excellent Stripey Rambles vid, and I am beside myself waiting for the Arrow Boxset ! It can’t come soon enough.
I found a bruce lee book of his 50th anniversary the cover has the way of the dragon and the back with the big boss and it just mentions of his life time
@@StripeyR If your work is being used without your permission you really should take some sort of legal action. It's your own work and you deserve credit for at and a share of any resulting profits. Just my opinion.
If I were you, I would contact him and ask him about the pictures. But ultimately I think you should be as I heard John Lennon said about song rights. Once you put something out there it belongs to the world. And you do not own it anymore. So maybe even though you have every right, spiritually you should not care about the money and enjoy the fact that your work is in the book. In the end, I know you deserve compensation. And you should have something for it. But also I'm glad your work is in the book and that in itself is a value maybe you can appreciate
i love Bruce Lee love the movies part of my childhood growing up watching it on dodgy VHS tape with the tracking all to f**k it was ace the culture and the food of course !! thanks for this enjoyed your vid, there must be some sort of cover for art so the artist gets paid if your image is downloaded used etc especially without your knowledge? cheers.
I'm a freelance illustrator and it's happened to me where people have been selling my images on T-shirts. It's a bummer man! I'd probably have contacted the guy before publicly shaming... which he deserves but still. Great images by the way.
It is a bummer, mate, I "bought" the book. It is what it is, I guess. I posted them on the web (so it's kinda my own fault) It must of pee'd you off seeing you're images being sold on T-shirts fella (bloody cheek) Thanks pal 👍
I see my local Arts & Entertainment venue, is showing a few Bruce Lee movies this next week or two. Not sure if it is a nationwide thing or not? Likely its just a local thing, to celebrate 50th anniversary
I agree with many of the other comments that the author should have contacted yourself and all other content creators whose work was used in that book for permission prior to publication. You should have been paid and supplied a free copy of the first printing. If I was in your position at the very least I think I would contact the author and see what they have to say for themselves before considering whether to take any further action.
I'm so sorry to hear about what happened to you, and yes, you should be angry at what they have done to you. When you were, should which posters were yours, I liked some of them. Do you sell these posters? What do I need to do to get one for my room? Thanks for the video
I've subscribed, Stripey. It's no good! Your down to earth and level headed approach to the legend that is Bruce is contagious. Keep up the awesome work and I look forward to more of the same, my friend.
Hello Stripey. Yes your right, its your work and the guy should have asked for your permission first. In a way its a compliment that he used your work but legally and morally its wrong. I too own 'The Way of the Dragon' graphic book and enjoyed it. Apart from the fact he left out the scene with the bank manager and when Malisa Longo takes Tang Lung back to her apartment ( Actually Bruces hotel room at the Flora Hotel in Rome). You can see his tan leather jacket hanging in the wardrobe. I digress. The WOTD book as you said is a two parter. And that smells of a bit of a cash grab if you ask me, however the fifty years of is nicely done but the guy needs to do hisn legal work first before publishing. Drop him a line Stripey.
I'm refering to the book 'Bruce Lee remebering the legend' - not the ' Way of the Dragon' graphic book. Stripeys artworks have been used in the 'Bruce Lee remembering the legend'without permission. @@adamstar7516
@Stripey oh WOW! that's crazy! And very disrespectful & do they know?🤔 they did U dirty & JOCK, he does some GREAT artwork & stuff for comics/movies & posters. That is disrespectful! & the should have contacted to ask U/made a deal. Oh noooo! The back page saying that should be acknowledged PROPERLY! Sorry for the little rant but your channel is great & I live seeing this content. Noo U should be ranting! 💯%
Stripey great video as always. I think you answer your own questions ,here. That is your stuff end of !!!. And that guy should do the right thing. As always wishing you the best and hope that this is sorted for you. Love all the Bruce stuff lately. Tom H
If I put the time and effort into creating posters for films I love I would be pissed if they suddenly appeared in someone else’s copyrighted work. Is there any way you can contact the publisher and prove you are the original creator and want to be credited?
My first comment on your channel and also have to agree with you. That person is making money off your work and he is WRONG totally plus the publisher should be blamed as well .All parties to there scam.Good luck and do the right thing.Dont let them get away with it please, yet its your choice. You possibly can get money out of it if not for yourself but for charities .
Wow this is quite unbelievable Stripey 😬😬🤯🤯 thats, how we say up here "micey" meaning really sly 😲 yeah i think you should be asked and name checked for sure mate 🤔👍👍interested to see your work with the chucks mate 😊😊
It is what it is Jon, I'm fine with it really, but I thought I'd call it out! The chux will be fun (I hope) I'm guessing it's like riding a bike 😉it's been a while. We must sort out that stream mate. It'll be fun to chat with you 👍
This has happened to me across lots of mixed media, video footage, artwork,.writing etc.... Most people asked, unfortunately some do not. This is small, be flattered with this one mate.
My question is the flying kick in the big boss, opening credits and photo still, the Bruce Lee logo if you want to call it that I have never seen that kick in the movie. I am in my 60s and the kick is not in the final print, he does a kick flying with the knives in his hands . The guy rubbing your material SCAB
Yes mate agree that I would be slightly peeved. I have had occasion where my YT videos have been reused and I have had them removed. Does the guy even have permission from the studios to use all the images from the films even? Love those T-shirts you have. I am in soon as you put them up for ordering. Oh and thanks for the heads up on the WOTD comic book! Awesome
I’m guessing that book may not make tons of money so probably take it as a compliment, but if it does make money then maybe pursue it. Frustrating as I’ve had stuff used and it’s annoying. Maybe contact the book owner and just word it politely Incase he makes more. I remember babysitting at age16 and hiring out Bruce Lee films and was instantly hooked.
I think you're right, fella. My own fault, really. When you post to Facebook, it's like the wild west. Lesson learned. Bruce Lee was special, that's for sure. Cheers pal 👍
Hi Stripey. I can understand your frustration. I've been after the Game of Death poster you did for ages to get as part of my Game of Death collection. Would you consider allowing me to buy a copy or do as a swap for a replica miniature tombstone I make. When you go to Seattle check out the Tai Tung restaurant. It was Bruce's favourite and they have one of my tombstones in the corner. Also when you visit Bruce's grave, Jesse Glover and Ed Hart are buried a few feet away to the right. John Saxon is buried near them to. And finally, Charlie Woo (who is in Bruce's book) is buried to the right of the entrance facing the fence. Look for a large vase shaped headstone.👍
I have only just recently subscribed to your channel Stripey, & I am enjoying your Bruce Lee content especially. As regards to this video, If it was me I would feel aggrieved that another individual is profiting from your work.
You are right to be miffed Stripey if that were mine I would be sending him a message telling him he should of asked your permission first, let him know. Love to hear his reply.
Yeah should have you name credit at least. my brother always has this with his photos published, but then he gets paid for it too lol. When we went to Bruce and Brandon's grave, it didn't have the railings, not sure if it still has the bench to sit on? We planned holiday with Seattle and Vancouver which works out great.
It's weird, mate. This book has 6 of mine. I have mixed feelings but I think I'll take it as a compliment, after all, I posted them to facebook. Cheers pal 👍
@Stripey this is an AMAZING item/book to earn, I'm gonna try & hope back & see If I can get them bought for ME, instead of me spending my own money! 😅😁😎
this kinda stuff has happened to me many times - people stole my videos and used them for their DVDs and released documentaries without giving me credit, permission or anything…. I suppose you have to take it as flattery when people rip off your content - it’s the wild west out there
You're right to be annoyed Stripey. It's a nice looking book, but clearly just a cut and paste job. No real research and no permissions asked, just a quick Google search. Easy money for this guy. Love your poster designs by the way and great podcast! 👍
Being honest, I'd be annoyed, because you spent time artistically and creativily designing the artwork. Couldn't even be bothered to ask. This guy is a piece of work
The book has few mistakes. The boss from way of the dragon his name is Jon t benn not bean. The movie poster collection for enter the dragon has game of death written above them. And the synopsis for game of death says along the way, lee meets a female fighter named Ann and forms an alliance with her??? And as for him using your images he should have asked permission he's making money from this book, and I found 3 mistakes which I find annoying for £30 which isn't cheap for what it is.
Hi mate. They nicked your artwork. And at the moment I heard you say that is your artwork "This is mine", I immediately thought back about your videos being banned by RUclips. You didn't earn any money, just talking enthusiasticly about the artist or album. The author or designer of the book could have asked you or at least they could have mentioned your name with the artwork. On the other hand ....... you're a big Bruce Lee fan and you have to be proud that your artwork is used in a book about Bruce. I can understand your mixed emotions about this. Take care
Hey Pe Ke, mate. I hope you are well. I'm kinda of indifferent, Yes, it would have been nice to be asked (maybe get a free copy) but I have some of my images in a book about Bruce. Take care my friend 👍🏻
WOW! I bet that was abit surreal seeing your own artwork in a book you've just bought, still they should have made some attempt to contact you. I can understand that you feel abit cheated especially as they are making money off the book. Love your posters though Stripey they look great.
I would be a little bit miffed. I image you worked hard on those posters and for someone to just take them and put them in a book which they are making money off and not even ask your permission to include them is bang out of order. Hopefully someone will reach out and make it right - T-minus 9 days til the Bruce set is out. Can’t wait.
I would never have put a copyright claim at the end of the book, it's a hybrid book!! If someone put out this with my artwork I would have let it go and would not be annoyed with it if there was written a special thanks to all creators of artwork borrowed in the book. No respect!!
They should have contacted. If you were to then let them use your artwork, you should have been given a complimentary copy. If I were you, I'd be miffed.
These are exactly the sort of books I tend to avoid now, just looks like a copy and paste job to me. If there's nothing new I ain't buying it. You've every right to be annoyed mate I think I would be as well, that's very cheeky. Really enjoying your Bruce videos though pal, keep em coming. 👍
Keep avoiding the new bruce lee books ,,as bruce lee died in 1973 ,,may be you should buy the new books by van damm or steven segal the true jokers of martial arts 😅😊😂😂
Hi mate , yea a bit naughty now u have said that , he could have asked u o guess , i have these 2 books and yea they are nice . Im one of the ones who have a few of your pics in my collection room inside a few of my glass cabinets as they look great in there , would have preferred the posters mind , the teeshirt u have on looks very cool too by the way . I can see why u would be unhappy about the books cheers Dave
Hi Dave, I'm fine with Bruce fans printing & displaying some of my artwork (like I explain in the video) it's kinda cool. I knew that if I posted them on Facebook, something like that would happen. I'm okay with the images in the book, now (I was a little p****d at first). It is what it is. I'm going to take it as a compliment. I'm just happy I didn't share all of them 😉 Glad you like the t-shirt, mate. Cheers 👍
The use of the photos without asking is taking a liberty. The copyright claim at the back of the book takes it to downright theft. At the very least I'd be mailing the publisher (jointly with the other artists who were stolen from if possible) telling them that at the very least, any reprint better be updated with the correct credits.
Hey Stripey. I have that comic book. I am hoping for a follow up too. The other you mentioned here I haven't bothered with. Pretty bad they stole your work. Have a great weekend my friend 👍🙏
Also stripey matey, as much as all of us Bruce Lee fans don't like the "drug letters" could you do a video and your opinion on it? We all know he was circa 124lbs on enter the dragon do you think the cocaine wether he was using it at the time or previous has anything to do with his death ? Ty pal
Also he referred to a pill called "M" and the way he refers to it makes me think it was mdma , a drug I found when I was younger to be not very addictive but magical. He also then turned to LSD or mushrooms too. Your view is greatly appreciated matey ty
Hi there bud, It's an interesting conversation to bring up, as I'm interested in your opinion. I didn't like reading them letters at all. The contents made me queezy, especially knowing Bob Baker and even his own wife Linda, was helping with his drug intake. I know Bruce was a grown man, but in my opinion, these two individuals contributed to his early demise. Such a shame that a man so dedicated to his health and training and was obviously incredibly disciplined, succumbed to drug issues. I could understand the Hash, but all the other stuff was disconcerting to read. The price of fame I guess and pursuing a dream at all costs. Still respect the man though and always will do, but it saddens me. Warmest wishes bud. Tony 👍 👍
@@antonysmith6457 Hi matey, with regards to baker I'd imagine it would of been hard to say no to such a person like Bruce. With regards to Linda well she could of pressed more for this addiction to stop and maybe didn't we won't know. I know she lied under oath with regards to his health insurance policy saying she knew nothing of Bruce taking drugs which it has now come to surface and the fact she even wrote some of those letters is kind blowing . Now I know from previous drug use in my mid 20s that something like mdma and LSD etc are something you have now and again over a period of of year but the cocaine use which I had never dabbled in is meant to make you train harder and think your god's gift. We all know Bruce had an ego and maybe the cocaine use upped that ego a little but also as you seen in the letters his handwriting becomes worse by the letter is a sign of stress / over working and maybe the comedown of the cocaine and In one of those letters you can see he wants to kick that coke habit and I think he said it was down to JKD physiology/ training. Also Linda has told lots of lies and from my memory hasn't even opened up on the fact he was seeing mistresses on the side. They say base yourself around nice and good people and you will mould into that sort of person. It looks like Bruce had the good and bad people around him unfortunately. Dabbling in drugs at a younger age happens to a lot of us kicking to curb and wanting to stop is something I can see he wanted to do but god knows what the coke had done to his body by then, I'm unsure of the longer term effects. As disheartening as it was to see those I can relate in my 20s so it wasn't a massive shock but it's something you'd expect your wife to put her foot down and say "no Bruce", she could of done that and yea we may not be having this convo now. I mean it's evidently to late now but what he needed from his wife at least was support and not judgement yet she's writing letters to feed this circa 125lb super man aka our Bruce and helping this habit, she should hold her head in shame. That's my opinion on it mate but it's still an open case where I could alter or change it because it's still fairly new to me. Hopes that helped somewhat pal, take care matey Cheers, Nick
Be peeved that they aren't actual posters, just fan art. But you wear unofficial t-shirts all the time. That's taking someone's art without permission all the time. So you can't really quibble when it's your image being taken but you support the taking of others.
A fair point, some of my Bruce t-shirts are official. Posters/fanart, not sure the point you're making! I'm not even pissed really (I'm kinda indifferent tbh)

Not long now until we get our Arrow sets (I can't wait)
Thanks again fella 👍
@@StripeyR Thank you for your kind reply, once I finish redecorating our home { ordered by the wife } I would like to send you some images of some of the items I have in my collection { If this is okay with you }. Please keep up the excellent work that you do both my wife and I really enjoy your content.. Kindest regard s George Brannan
@georgebrannan1759 Thanks, George, I would love to see some images of your collection.
Cheers mate 👍
If people at least gave credit and a way 2 get ahold of the person who did art work ? That could be advertisement !!! Share the love!! Great job on covers brother!!
Hi Stripey,
Sorry to hear this, a little tough to hear, as you were shocked 😳😱, I guess it comes to down to a person’s morals, I personally would of asked especially if one’s using material & making money out of it, but what a well put together book of Bruce Lee 😎👍thanks for sharing 👊
Once again Stripey, great work! Yes, I would be annoyed also, in not getting some recognition.
You are absolutely correct !
Enjoyed the clip but as you pointed out you made your version of the posters of the movie’s a AWSOME yes you have done your research so yes I would be annoyed to keep the faith ✌🏾RIP BRUCE LEE 🐉
Yes most definitely, it's very irritating when someone takes credit for someone else's work.
You have a right to be p***** off, absolutely.
I'm ok with it, mate, really. It would have been nice to be asked tho (maybe a free book)
I'll take it as a sort of compliment I guess.
Cheers Fella
I feel for you Stripey, the same happened to me on the Bowie scene.
Paul Kinder of bowiewonderworld claimed copyright for my photos and promoted his bullshit fantasies with Bowie concert tickets my wife had gifted him.
It is very frustrating.
Hopefully karma will prevail.
Love and peace.
Love the video buddy, the person who did that book should have definitely ask if they could use your art work. Keep the awesome work you do mate. 🙂👍
Thanks, fella. I appreciate it 👍
It is extremely cheeky of them.
Hi I knew there is some bruce lee comic books out their and hope my son will find some comics at comic book store on Thursday next week
Hopefully, he'll bring you back something cool.
I'd be pissed...well done on this channel just joined last week, keep doing what you're doing 👍🏻
Yeah , its only polite to tag, give a shout out to the artist at least ... its happened before to me over the years with prints being made and sold to t-shirts LOL
again a superb video my friend ! and thank you buddy .
Thanks, Steve. I recognise you're art straight away, mate. A free copy of the book would have been nice.
I guess it's a form of flattery (to be included) but it would have been much better to have been asked.
cheers fella 👍
you have a point
Yeah, i would be pissed off as well, but Mr Cheung must admire yours and the others work perhaps, yeah and all the same he could have asked. Great posters you made on the Big Boss etc.
You have a case here for sure buddy. Sure the publishers won't want to go to court, so maybe a little civil settlement.
Looks a great book but its put me off buying it a little if they are pocketing from this
I got the Way of the Dragon comic and it is brilliant , cant wait for the second part , would love t see Game of Death done as a comic
However, on a more positive note... I bet I'm not the only one that's screaming out for high quality tees with your images on! 💯
Thanks mate
Yes brother, you should be miffed. It aint right that someone can use your art for their book without acknowledgement or permission. Its taking the proverbial that, get in touch with the publisher and give em a colourful ramble.
Also I am all for your merch, and will gobble it up like a cat on some cream. Cannot wait mate, to get your stuff. It looks the business.
Wattaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
It sounds like you're a little angry. What surprises me is that with the experience you have, you are not used to these things.
I'm not angry, mate. I have seen my images plastered over pinterst (so I am kinda used to it)
I had the same thing from a few sellers who were advertising Bruce painted head sculpts.
I found a bruce lee book of his 50th anniversary the cover has the way of the dragon and the back with the big boss and it just mentions of his life time
It’s not his artwork tho! He didn’t draw any of it.
I posted them on the web (so it's kinda my own fault)
It must of pee'd you off seeing you're images being sold on T-shirts fella (bloody cheek)
Thanks pal 👍
I see my local Arts & Entertainment venue, is showing a few Bruce Lee movies this next week or two. Not sure if it is a nationwide thing or not? Likely its just a local thing, to celebrate 50th anniversary
Are you going to see a few (Bruce on the Big Screen) it would be cool. The nearest to me is in London, I wish they we're playing a little closer.
Just putting in two cents for the algorithm keep up the good work mate👍🏻👍🏻😀👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks, pal. I appreciate it 👍
I agree with many of the other comments that the author should have contacted yourself and all other content creators whose work was used in that book for permission prior to publication.
Thanks for the sub, mate. I really appreciate it 👍
Hello Stripey.
It not his artwork tho. Stripey didn’t draw those.
I'm refering to the book 'Bruce Lee remebering the legend' - not the ' Way of the Dragon' graphic book. Stripeys artworks have been used in the 'Bruce Lee remembering the legend'without permission. @@adamstar7516
Definitely a bit cheeky, I've got a way of the dragon comic book illustrated by a guy called Tsui Shing On very cool.
Excellent review
Thank you! Cheers!
Stripey love your ramble mate 👍
Thanks pal👍
Thank you my friend.
My pleasure, mate 👍 thanks for watching.
Awesome brother
@Stripey oh WOW! that's crazy! And very disrespectful & do they know?🤔 they did U dirty & JOCK, he does some GREAT artwork & stuff for comics/movies & posters. That is disrespectful! & the should have contacted to ask U/made a deal. Oh noooo! The back page saying that should be acknowledged PROPERLY! Sorry for the little rant but your channel is great & I live seeing this content. Noo U should be ranting! 💯%
Stripey great video as always.
I think you answer your own questions
,here.
It'll be fun to chat with you 👍
stripey golden harvest and warner bros could say the same thing to you,its just one of those things.
You do have a point fella
You are doing a great job stripey and as i said you have every right to complain.
Did you draw/paint those yourself? They're incredible and you are very talented
Thanks, Pal. No, I didn't draw/paint these, I used Photoshop 👍
Thats a shame is the book a beerdy Bruce lee Central product lol love your channel mate your very easy to listen to I like your style
This has happened to me across lots of mixed media, video footage, artwork,.writing etc.... Most people asked, unfortunately some do not. This is small, be flattered with this one mate.
Bloody cheek using your work but yes I've seen this before happen. Love your artwork mate.
Thank you! Cheers, David. 👍
I think the flying kick is a publicity shot (I think), Derek, mate. cheers fella
They should’ve contacted you and asked your permission.
Lindo book
Another great video Mr Lee
Glad you enjoyed it, mate
@@StripeyRLove all your Bruce Videos 👍
Yes mate agree that I would be slightly peeved. I have had occasion where my YT videos have been reused and I have had them removed. Does the guy even have permission from the studios to use all the images from the films even? Love those T-shirts you have. I am in soon as you put them up for ordering. Oh and thanks for the heads up on the WOTD comic book! Awesome
Good 👍 stuff
I’m guessing that book may not make tons of money so probably take it as a compliment, but if it does make money then maybe pursue it. Frustrating as I’ve had stuff used and it’s annoying. Maybe contact the book owner and just word it politely Incase he makes more.
I remember babysitting at age16 and hiring out Bruce Lee films and was instantly hooked.
I think you're right, fella. My own fault, really. When you post to Facebook, it's like the wild west. Lesson learned.
Bruce Lee was special, that's for sure.
Cheers pal 👍
Would love to hear your thoughts on the new AI Beatles single that’s coming out stripey 😎
😆😆 At least you were paid a pretty cool (non monetary) tribute by acknowledgement for your artwork. Thankfully your name branded some of your work!
If it was I, I would write a letter to him
I have only just recently subscribed to your channel Stripey, & I am enjoying your Bruce Lee content especially. As regards to this video, If it was me I would feel aggrieved that another individual is profiting from your work.
Thanks for subscribing fella, I really appreciate it 👍🏻
You are right to be miffed Stripey if that were mine I would be sending him a message telling him he should of asked your permission first, let him know.
I would say get some money off them and have them correct all future printing.
It's done now mate but thanks👍🏻
Hi stripey,,where can i buy these bruce lee books
Amazon, Sam
I've had it happen... A Japanese publisher used an image of my work.
It's weird, mate. This book has 6 of mine. I have mixed feelings but I think I'll take it as a compliment, after all, I posted them to facebook.
Cheers pal 👍
you deserve a % of the royalties , it would be minimal but if you put the work in and he never asked permission get in touch with publisher
Lol what do you think those posters are if they aren’t a ‘cut and paste job’?
Being honest, I'd be annoyed, because you spent time artistically and creativily designing the artwork. Couldn't even be bothered to ask. This guy is a piece of work
It’s not Stripeys artwork though. He just composited someone else’s artwork.
Thanks fella, I appeciate it 👍
I would be a little bit miffed. I image you worked hard on those posters and for someone to just take them and put them in a book which they are making money off and not even ask your permission to include them is bang out of order. Hopefully someone will reach out and make it right - T-minus 9 days til the Bruce set is out. Can’t wait.
I would be p****d off for sure. At the very least they could have credited you somewhere in the book, and they definitely should have asked you first.
They could have, it is what it is I guess!
Thanks 👍
Be like water, my friend - sue the bastard
These are exactly the sort of books I tend to avoid now, just looks like a copy and paste job to me. If there's nothing new I ain't buying it. You've every right to be annoyed mate I think I would be as well, that's very cheeky. Really enjoying your Bruce videos though pal, keep em coming. 👍
Cheers, fella. I'm not that miffed to be honest. It might have been nice to b asked tho. Glad you're enjoying the Bruce content mate 👍🏻
I'm just happy I didn't share all of them 😉
Glad you like the t-shirt, mate. Cheers 👍
@@StripeyR Yea mate cool shirt and cool posters
sue them,..
I think you should sue who is responsible. What if the shoe was on the other foot.
I don't think I'll bother tbh. These images are all over pinterest. I just didn't expect them to be in a book that I bought. Thanks 👍
The use of the photos without asking is taking a liberty. The copyright claim at the back of the book takes it to downright theft. At the very least I'd be mailing the publisher (jointly with the other artists who were stolen from if possible) telling them that at the very least, any reprint better be updated with the correct credits.
Cheers, Joe. It's a liberty, but I should have expected this, once I uploaded them to Facebook. Thanks pal
Your all making a great living out of the late Bruce lee so all is fair after all you did ask him did you ..
Hey Stripey. I have that comic book. I am hoping for a follow up too. The other you mentioned here I haven't bothered with. Pretty bad they stole your work. Have a great weekend my friend 👍🙏
Dude, turn the pages at the top! The book will last longer!
Don't be piss.
Be glad that you had contributed to the Bruce Lee mythology & legacy
You should get paid for it and at least get the book for free.
Hey, Matey, it's a subject I was going to cover at some point. Leave it with me, fella 👍
@@StripeyR spot on pal much appreciated
Hi there bud,
It's an interesting conversation to bring up,
as I'm interested in your opinion.
I didn't like reading them letters at all.
The contents made me queezy, especially knowing Bob Baker and even his own wife Linda, was helping with his drug intake.
I know Bruce was a grown man, but in my opinion, these two individuals contributed to his early demise.
Such a shame that a man so dedicated to his health and training and was obviously incredibly disciplined, succumbed to
drug issues.
Hopes that helped somewhat pal, take care matey
Cheers,
Nick
Be peeved that they aren't actual posters, just fan art. But you wear unofficial t-shirts all the time. That's taking someone's art without permission all the time. So you can't really quibble when it's your image being taken but you support the taking of others.
A fair point, some of my Bruce t-shirts are official.
Posters/fanart, not sure the point you're making! I'm not even pissed really (I'm kinda indifferent tbh)
Im new to this channel. You made Bruce Lee movie posters when Bruce was alive? Correct me if im wrong.
I'm not that old, mate. No I made these in 2020/21. thanks for subscribing 👍
