I am from Germany and as far as I can remember I never heard someone call it "snes". The common name, used by almost everyone, was "Super Nintendo". Just like the NES was called "Nintendo".
I wasn't fully convinced I was looking at a custom raspberry pi build, until he opened them up. I thought they were Snes Classics or something. Amazing!
The mini SNES cartridges really set this project apart, and the mini controllers are adorable-but my heart melted when I saw that mini Pokémon Silver cart.
I love that you made cartridges for them, and then I was blown away even more when you went the extra mile and made working eject buttons. You are a master, sir :)
When you pulled out the super small mini D-Pads, I blew my soda all over my monitor. No joke. That. Is. Amazing. (Kind of reminds me of the old Amiga mini joysticks that were made before the Amiga Computer even existed). You are OBSESSED ...in the best possible way. Looking forward to your Nintendo 64, Mega Drive (Genesis) and PS1 projects....
What a great ASMR video! You did a great job building them. I love your attention to detail. It’s very cool how you made the NFC cartridges work on the system. If Nintendo had did it this way they would have been making millions off this format. Collectors would have loved collecting the mini cartridges! Superb job!
my...my mind is blown. This is just astounding. As you went on in the video, i found myself shaking my head and when you got the the super gameboy cartriges i litterally said out loud what the hell this guy is amazing. The attention to detail is breathtaking. Oh and i would love to have seen the controllers! Dont listen to naysayers. I have no idea who you are before but im a new sub. Amazing.
This has got to be the most amazing builds I've seen! I really need to learn how to design stuff like this, especially the mechanical part of it like hinges, the buttons etc. Amazing work!
Amazing project! Really took it to the next level. I wish the 'Classic' consoles actually came with little cartridges, or at least one cart with all the games loaded. The the cartridge sticking out really completes the look of the SNES especially.
omg Mike you have gone and out done yourself on this one last year i thought your nes mini was the best raspberry pi project i had seen but OMG this year you have gone and done it again congrats
Mal-Kenobi he definitely did out done himself heck I even want a pi3 version and another version that's a little bigger but has fans and heatsinks to make it work with more games also there needs to be a gba to snes pi adaptor like the one he has got for gb games
This is above and beyond any mod I've ever seen. Every time I think you've shown everything you bring up another beautifully crafted item. And using an nfc reader for the cartridges is genius! Think I might make a raspi gameboy dmg now with cartridge loading inspired by your design :D
Great work!! To get the original snap in feel for the cardridges you could use magnets inside the snes and some screws on the bottom side of the cards. So if you press the eject button you will get the original feeling.
Amazing, just like the NES mini you did. Nintendo should take a page from your book. Being able to insert/eject cartridges should have been something they did in my opinion.
Amazing job. So much better than the official Nintendo classics. Love the little cartridges too. I stuck my Pi 3 in an original Playstation casing..pretty happy with it.
Omg..those are some of the sickest creations I've ever seen. Being a snes fan I really appreciate what you've accomplished here. Great skill and talent. 👍
Love how you differentiated between the S.N.E.S and the SNES . I've been on several channels where this is a hot topic whether people say one or the other. :)
you will always be known as the original builder of the mini nes and if it wasn't for you the market for them wouldn't be as big as it is now. I'm sure you had your reasons for taking a break and I get that. I built a daftmike nes case with the nfc card reader and it came out great. I had to use a different electronics kit for the power supply because I couldn't find one like yours. thanks for all the hard work you did to come up with it and hope you do more great work in the future.
Grandiosa conversión. Muy buen trabajo y detalles. Los cartuchos hacen que sea casi una fiel copia de la original. Creo que así debió ser la Nes mini y la SNES mini.
Dang, just before the release of the SNES mini too. This is really cool. I’m glad I’ll be able to go get my own SNES mini tomorrow when it releases but I really want to try and print my own case to build something similar to this. :)
Please stop making these beautiful devices! Honestly you are making me so so jealus! And believe me, it is difficult for me to get jealous for something! I soooo much want to have one of these! Wonderful work! Simply fantastic... amazing! Well done! :D
Yeah...well my shrink ray... Excellent work, very professional and I love the microcontrollers. I thought about building a new Super Gun, but this, now this is cool. Especially the mini cartridges. I was lucky enough to get a Nes Classic and Snes Classic and as a retro gamer I'm looking for more. I used to have a huge Mame set up and I am looking to get back into it. I might have to do a Sega Genesis w/32X. I would love to see a Genesis w/Sega CD model 1 micro working...I can dream.
Loved the mini controllers and would have loved seeing them in action. Even if they might not be the most ergonomic way to play, it's still cool that you managed to make functioning mini controllers in the first play. Don't let anybody tell you these aren't amazing.
Suerte.
I was excited to just be able to get the Super Nintendo Classic Edition but man yours are so much better than the official. The detail, cartridges, gameboy games, and the controllers .... I really wanted to see them in action, lol ... just incredible! New Subscriber! I can't wait to see what you make next! :D
daftmike ahhh, I see, here was me hoping I'd won some kind of observant viewer prize... I guess I'd have been better if I'd actually made the connection. Instead I had to ask. 😩
There's actually another little insert in the video, it's probably a more obscure reference though... so you could still claim the prize! #notarealprize
I got the nes classic and SNES Classic, but I really love the Super Famicom shell and hope to use its shape when making a raspberry retro machine. I hope a super famicom case of this quality goes on sale at some point.
These are Brilliant... truly brilliant. You should do classes or something. I could pick your brain for hours. Lol I love the attention to detail with the cartridges and the 'ejecting game' I wish I had the skills for doing this myself. I just bought a NesPi Case, but it's not the same label as this Amazingness. I love the Tiny controllers and the Super Gameboys and Gameboy Cartridges. Excellent. I'm in Retro Heaven right now. You sir are a genius.
Dang man please sell these anonymously and under the table and release the files and stls for deniable plausibility. You put Nintendo to shame. You've got serious ingenuity and talent.
You actually say S.N.E.S. for N.A. and "snes" for Europe! If that was intentional, you're brilliant mate.
I am from Germany and as far as I can remember I never heard someone call it "snes".
The common name, used by almost everyone, was "Super Nintendo".
Just like the NES was called "Nintendo".
Simon Kraemer Same for the Netherlands. :-)
But its a super famicon isn't it?
they only called it that in Japan afaik
ronindebeatrice I'm from the UK and we've always called it "snes".
I wasn't fully convinced I was looking at a custom raspberry pi build, until he opened them up. I thought they were Snes Classics or something. Amazing!
Your cases are magical. Edit: OMG it's even better inside. All the little extra circuitry...
I said it once when you built the nes this is what Nintendo should have done ... with there mini’s and made games separate for sale this is genius
That’s a work of art man. The best SNES 3D Printed case I’ve seen by far. These blow that cheap CollectorsCraft Pi case out of the water.
Oh man! these are gorgeous! you're very talented!
The mini SNES cartridges really set this project apart, and the mini controllers are adorable-but my heart melted when I saw that mini Pokémon Silver cart.
I love that you made cartridges for them, and then I was blown away even more when you went the extra mile and made working eject buttons. You are a master, sir :)

beautiful consoles and cartridges

Watching video for first time with same reaction. Still a good channel?
This is unreal. What a talented guy you are. Absolutely astonishing levels of detail and a clear love for arguably the best system ever.
Oh wow! This is really taking it to perfection. Incredibly elaborate design. Wish I had the talent and patience to do that! Hats off!
This has got to be the most amazing builds I've seen! I really need to learn how to design stuff like this, especially the mechanical part of it like hinges, the buttons etc. Amazing work!
I literally squealed when I saw the Super GameBoys. You're a very talented man. That's amazing work. Well done
They're a thing of beauty and I want one. Very clever and don't sell yourself short.
So are the controllers
Man, I just need to show respect. You did an amazing job with those mini-consoles. Wish I was that talented.
Man, I wish I could do such mini consoles on my own.
They look so great! These tiny Carts are adorable! You did an amazing work!
Amazing project! Really took it to the next level. I wish the 'Classic' consoles actually came with little cartridges, or at least one cart with all the games loaded. The the cartridge sticking out really completes the look of the SNES especially.
Just the sheer level of detail on these mini systems and carts are mind blowing, maybe you can make a mini gameboy?
omg Mike you have gone and out done yourself on this one last year i thought your nes mini was the best raspberry pi project i had seen but OMG this year you have gone and done it again congrats

Mal-Kenobi whaaat TV is that

pure console love and passion!. Amazing!
Great work!! To get the original snap in feel for the cardridges you could use magnets inside the snes and some screws on the bottom side of the cards. So if you press the eject button you will get the original feeling.
hey, that's a good idea I might try it
Awesome - love the cartridges (especially the gameboy ones)
incredible job there!Mini cardrige, eject, and mini controller and mni everything haha!! You're great!
Amazing, just like the NES mini you did. Nintendo should take a page from your book. Being able to insert/eject cartridges should have been something they did in my opinion.
Amazing job. So much better than the official Nintendo classics. Love the little cartridges too.
I stuck my Pi 3 in an original Playstation casing..pretty happy with it.
these are just incredible and that includes those little controllers
super nice :) !! Especially all the details, the working NFC cartridges & even the mini controllers :) Good work ;) !!
This is probably the singlehandedly amazing thing I've seen in a while!
Outstanding work, dedication, and detail! Awesome job dude! I aspire to be like you!
I thought the mini SNES carts were cute as a button, but when you showed those controllers I just lost it!
Omg..those are some of the sickest creations I've ever seen.
Being a snes fan I really appreciate what you've accomplished here.
Great skill and talent.
👍
You just made my day! was so impressed with the consoles, then carts, mini controllers AND gameboy adapters... Too good sir :) well done...
Those mini carts are so awesome, nice work!
Are you going to do a build guide on this one as well ?
You're so freaking talented, that is an incredible recreation. I only wish I had your talent to be able to make these myself. Keep up the awesome work
DUDE! this is crazy! youve done a really good job
Dude this is freakin amazing! There is so much detail put into this!
Love how you differentiated between the S.N.E.S and the SNES . I've been on several channels where this is a hot topic whether people say one or the other. :)

Oh my gosh. He just keeps pulling out more and more awesome little cute things. Shame I didn't get to see those mini controllers in use :D
you will always be known as the original builder of the mini nes and if it wasn't for you the market for them wouldn't be as big as it is now. Incredible craftsmanship. Well done man.
Grandiosa conversión. Muy buen trabajo y detalles. Los cartuchos hacen que sea casi una fiel copia de la original. Creo que así debió ser la Nes mini y la SNES mini.
That looks very cool man, you are a real craftsman. Well done!
These are ridiculously amazing.
I wrote the previous comment before getting to the Super Gameboys. Sheer genius!
Those are incredible and super cool, dude! Well done! Wish I had one! I’d even buy it off you!
Dang, just before the release of the SNES mini too. This is really cool. I’m glad I’ll be able to go get my own SNES mini tomorrow when it releases but I really want to try and print my own case to build something similar to this. :)
Beautiful craftsmenship.

Thanks Joe, I'm gonna show some more details on the mini controllers in a new video.

I was excited to just be able to get the Super Nintendo Classic Edition but man yours are so much better than the official. The detail, cartridges, gameboy games, and the controllers .... I really wanted to see them in action, lol ... just incredible! New Subscriber! I can't wait to see what you make next! :D
What was with the Antman (fight club style insert) at 5.52 ?
haha, listening in the edit it felt like I said ANTenna about a million times there...
daftmike ahhh, I see, here was me hoping I'd won some kind of observant viewer prize... I guess I'd have been better if I'd actually made the connection. Instead I had to ask. 😩
There's actually another little insert in the video, it's probably a more obscure reference though... so you could still claim the prize!
#notarealprize
daftmike cricket reference, I assume a famous fumble, since you dropped the cartridges...
WINNER!! ... not really a famous fumble though, just a funny photo... bonus points for the player?
#bonuspointsalsonotreal
omg these are off the chain , there so good ,where would you stop building these
I got the nes classic and SNES Classic, but I really love the Super Famicom shell and hope to use its shape when making a raspberry retro machine. I hope a super famicom case of this quality goes on sale at some point.
COngratulations on the great job! These look superb!
Absolutely amazing work. Very creative
A really precise and nice job !
well done ! this is the best snes mini like I have ever seen !
:-)
Amazing job!!! These look as if a factory made these!!!!
Now you have to paid me a new floor; because my jaw has dropped so strongly that it just broke. Simply amazing.
You're amazingly talented and crazy. Fantastic work.
This is the best thing I've seen in 2017!
These are Brilliant... truly brilliant. You should do classes or something. I could pick your brain for hours. Lol
I love the attention to detail with the cartridges and the 'ejecting game'
I wish I had the skills for doing this myself. I just bought a NesPi Case, but it's not the same label as this Amazingness.
I love the Tiny controllers and the Super Gameboys and Gameboy Cartridges. Excellent. I'm in Retro Heaven right now. You sir are a genius.
Where are you??? You haven’t uploaded in years
The best 3D printed of the world!!!
This is awesome, the little controllers are the best!
Awesome! Man, you're a real artist.
Awesome work! Would be great if you shared the files to 3d print this. Then those of us that aren't as skilled as you could have our own mini snes!
This is beautiful.
brilliant design. great engineering.
The mini controllers are sick
Very clean work. Well done.
Wow 😮 blown away that’s epic mate I love the mini controllers and attention to detail 😍😍👍🏻
Dang man please sell these anonymously and under the table and release the files and stls for deniable plausibility. You put Nintendo to shame.
You've got serious ingenuity and talent.
Yay 😀 Watched the NES Mini made last year and it just showed up on my feed
awesome job bro! i bough to your precision! excelent work!
I'm sure there is zero way make these for distribution, but even if they were non-functional they would be amazing for displaying in the game room!
HOLY COW, I want one. Dont care which one they are both amazing.
