    You actually say S.N.E.S. for N.A. and "snes" for Europe! If that was intentional, you're brilliant mate.

    • @sikraemer
      @sikraemer 7 лет назад +24

      I am from Germany and as far as I can remember I never heard someone call it "snes".
      The common name, used by almost everyone, was "Super Nintendo".
      Just like the NES was called "Nintendo".

    The mini SNES cartridges really set this project apart, and the mini controllers are adorable-but my heart melted when I saw that mini Pokémon Silver cart.

    When you pulled out the super small mini D-Pads, I blew my soda all over my monitor. No joke. That. Is. Amazing. (Kind of reminds me of the old Amiga mini joysticks that were made before the Amiga Computer even existed).
    You are OBSESSED ...in the best possible way. Looking forward to your Nintendo 64, Mega Drive (Genesis) and PS1 projects....

    omg Mike you have gone and out done yourself on this one last year i thought your nes mini was the best raspberry pi project i had seen but OMG this year you have gone and done it again congrats

      Mal-Kenobi he definitely did out done himself heck I even want a pi3 version and another version that's a little bigger but has fans and heatsinks to make it work with more games also there needs to be a gba to snes pi adaptor like the one he has got for gb games

    That’s a work of art man. The best SNES 3D Printed case I’ve seen by far. These blow that cheap CollectorsCraft Pi case out of the water.

    beautiful consoles and cartridges

  • @lentendo64
    @lentendo64 7 лет назад +9

    Amazing, just like the NES mini you did. Nintendo should take a page from your book. Being able to insert/eject cartridges should have been something they did in my opinion.

  • @Marcoboyle00

    my...my mind is blown. This is just astounding. As you went on in the video, i found myself shaking my head and when you got the the super gameboy cartriges i litterally said out loud what the hell this guy is amazing. The attention to detail is breathtaking. Oh and i would love to have seen the controllers! Dont listen to naysayers. I have no idea who you are before but im a new sub. Amazing.

    These are Brilliant... truly brilliant. You should do classes or something. I could pick your brain for hours. Lol
    I love the attention to detail with the cartridges and the 'ejecting game'
    I wish I had the skills for doing this myself. I just bought a NesPi Case, but it's not the same label as this Amazingness.
    I love the Tiny controllers and the Super Gameboys and Gameboy Cartridges. Excellent. I'm in Retro Heaven right now. You sir are a genius.

  • @whitewolfskin9838
    @whitewolfskin9838 6 лет назад +1

    Great work!! To get the original snap in feel for the cardridges you could use magnets inside the snes and some screws on the bottom side of the cards. So if you press the eject button you will get the original feeling.

    What a great ASMR video! You did a great job building them. I love your attention to detail. It’s very cool how you made the NFC cartridges work on the system. If Nintendo had did it this way they would have been making millions off this format. Collectors would have loved collecting the mini cartridges! Superb job!

    You even went as far to put the Nintendo Support Sticker in the back. I know it would be hard, but if you set up an Etsy shop and sell a few, I’m sure people will buy them.

    Amazing project! Really took it to the next level. I wish the 'Classic' consoles actually came with little cartridges, or at least one cart with all the games loaded. The the cartridge sticking out really completes the look of the SNES especially.

    you will always be known as the original builder of the mini nes and if it wasn't for you the market for them wouldn't be as big as it is now. I'm sure you had your reasons for taking a break and I get that. I built a daftmike nes case with the nfc card reader and it came out great. I had to use a different electronics kit for the power supply because I couldn't find one like yours. thanks for all the hard work you did to come up with it and hope you do more great work in the future.

    Loved the mini controllers and would have loved seeing them in action. Even if they might not be the most ergonomic way to play, it's still cool that you managed to make functioning mini controllers in the first play. Don't let anybody tell you these aren't amazing.

    Love the Japanese/European SNES you did but the US one is also nice for the fact you didn't had to cut off parts from the Pi.
    Too bad I suck at making things, I'd love to get a prebuild (without the Pi that is).

  • @Ownedhardtime

    This is above and beyond any mod I've ever seen. Every time I think you've shown everything you bring up another beautifully crafted item. And using an nfc reader for the cartridges is genius! Think I might make a raspi gameboy dmg now with cartridge loading inspired by your design :D

    And just think about this for a second. This is the very early and primitive time in 3d printing era and technology. Imagine if 25-50 years, where 3d printers are not only better but as common as 2d printers.
    You can literally make whatever you want with almost zero effort. It's gonna be amazing.

    Excellent work, very professional and I love the microcontrollers. I thought about building a new Super Gun, but this, now this is cool. Especially the mini cartridges. I was lucky enough to get a Nes Classic and Snes Classic and as a retro gamer I'm looking for more. I used to have a huge Mame set up and I am looking to get back into it. I might have to do a Sega Genesis w/32X. I would love to see a Genesis w/Sega CD model 1 micro working...I can dream.
