when he mentioned feeling like an outsider, especially after 9/11, that hit me hard. As a muslim myself, I forget sometimes that muslims weren't the only ones that suffered discrimination after that event in history. So many other visible minorities also got hit as well. much love brother.
i never forgot that it's the case for others as well ever since he uploaded the video about how they forced him to take his turban off at the airport. i was like oh true they profile brown people who wear anything and group them all in as the same people.
Yeah im of Indian Muslim background but many of my friends were Hindus or Sikhs. One time, in college, some street preacher yelled out to my Hindu friend and asked him angrily if he was “a Muzzlem” . My friend replied “Subhanallah” ❤
Are you serious? You weren’t aware that Sikhs were literally catching it just as much, if not worse? First person unalived after 9/11 was a Sikh, the shooting at the Wisconsin gurdwara was because we were mistaken as being Muslim. Get your head out of your ass

Just wanna say Late Bloomer was absolutely what was needed in a space for understanding our South Asian culture. It's not the typical stereotyping seen in a lot of westernized shows. As a kashmiri south asian, I really felt and related to the emotions, struggles, and experiences that were shown. Such an amazing show and really hope for another season. Also dope response to the preacher about how there's different cuisine's to spirituality, respect.
Late Bloomer was literally the best TV show I have watched all year. Netflix should pick it up ASAP if they have any braincells left. It's literally MILES ahead of "Never Have I Ever" and Lilly Singh's unfunny train wreck of a show. What I like about Jasmeet is his authenticity and genuine love for his culture, he truly takes the best parts of his faith, and experience being Punjabi and seamlessly blends it into his day to day life, and he perfectly capture the emotion, turbulence and heavy heart we all feel during those moments, and it's genuinely funny and wholesome material. We need more shows that promote healthy nuclear familial relations and desi pride. I think our community is hungry and in desperate need of that these days
The only reason Late Bloomer is on Crave is due to Russell Peters and Pier 21 otherwise it was initially supposed to be on CBC. Comparing Never Have I Ever to Late Bloomer is laughable. Look at the viewership numbers Never Have I Ever its miles ahead of Late Bloomer. Your to focused on "Desi Pride" that's a great way to narrow the audience.......
Found it really mediocre. Too focused on trying to represent culture and community as opposed to telling a compelling story or flesh out the characters. Speaking of characters, they all felt very one-dimensional. The comedic timing was off throughout the show. Acting felt forced. Hope he improves if he gets a second season.

I finished watching season 1 of late bloomer today and it’s so real and raw. I really didn’t expect it to leave me in tears. Jasmeet has evolved and grown sm, it feels so wholesome like we’re growing up with him :,)
as soon as the vid started and i saw him walking down to the coffee shop, i felt my heart strings being tugged on and i started crying because he makes me remember and miss the good old days and how great those times felt 😭😭💔 tragic. the atmosphere, the way things and people were and how everything worked, loved it, i get taken back and i feel so sad it's gone. times will never be the same. we experienced the last of it in this age. wish i could go back and i wish so much of my time wasn't wasted on trauma and rapid advancement of everything. makes the loss feel more significant and like what was lost was so much farther in the past. things have changed SO DRASTICALLY in just 5 years that this world isn't the same anymore. we've lost so much. and i'm all for change, i don't resist it. this shift, though a lot of it was good and necessary, just took things way too far. it should have halted at 2021.
With this interview, I understand how I will never probably never see another Jusreign video. I know I should be supportive towards his change, but a large part of me feels sad that it won't happen again.

i always wondered what happened to jusreign because his disappearance was quite sudden, but i'm glad he stepped back and took time off to be more authentic to himself. the downside to being an influencer is that you can easily let yourself go in the presence of fame, but i respect jasmeet for prioritizing what really matters!
This story is from LA in 2014/2015. I understand what he’s saying about his values were changing and the money was changing him. One of my friends went to an event to meet him in person after being a super huge fan for so long. And I heard she was super disappointed because he just hung in one corner with a ton of security. Also he only let half or mostly naked women in the security circle to say hi to him. He didn’t even smile the whole time or give any respect to any fan. My friend completely lost her likeness for him. (6:00) but, we are all capable of change and it’s amazing he’s taken the time to do the inner work.
You can tell in this interview he is so blatantly woke. Woke people always act sanctimonious like they are on a higher moral pedestal and more enlightened. They also tend to be hypocrites who are shallow, superficial and snooty in reality. He's not physically attractive either so I'm sure his financial success makes him think he belongs with hot girls only. His entire identity and personality revolve around being brown and all his victim-hood. If brown people complain about “South Asian representation” and they live in Guelph, Milton, Brampton, Mississauga, you have to seriously be on drugs cause our people are literally everywhere lol! Definitely racism still exists here and there and ignorant people will always be around... but we have it 1000x better than what African Americans faced during the civil rights era of the 50s and 60s. Jasmeet complains he doesn’t have the same resources as the U.S. … dude, if the writing is intelligent and witty, people will watch (case and point, Schitt's Creek, or Bend it like Beckham - which is shocker..A movie about the struggles of a brown Sikh girl). It doesn’t have to be some big budget type show. Now he has a ready-made excuse when the show fails. 1) Not as much resources as white people and 2) Racism. This dude takes himself waay too seriously

Loved this - nice to see your personal growth, journey, maturity, and humility as the years have passed! I remember meeting you randomly at a McDonalds at Piccadilly Circus, London while I was attending grad school in the UK nearly a decade ago and you were gracious enough to take a picture with me and share some small talk & laughs. Had to check twice to make sure it wasn’t a old video, welcome back jasmeet
I love what you shared about seva and artistic bravery, thank you for your vulnerability and courage 🩷
Damn I feel like we all have grown up and matured since we last seen him
I related so much to your quirky silly younger self, and now life has changed so much, but yet I can relate to the new you so much. Your changes, your authenticity, its so real and relatable. You brought so much joy to so many, May Allah SWT bless you with peace and success 🤲❤❤❤ love you Jasmeet
You provided alot of laughs & subtle comedic commentary which have always been especially relatable for the South Asian Community in North America. I'm excited to see your new creative endeavors and binge watch Late Bloomer once its available in the states. God Bless Brother and may you continue to progress to success!
From the bottom of my heart, Bless you brother. #jusreignforever

Wow what an incredible interview! We missed you so much and it’s understandable why you had to pause! So much can be said thank you for showing us the beauty of pausing to regroup oneself. Love your work it not only speaks to the experience of southeast Asian but there’s a lot of overlap to us from Africa! Thanks again 🙌🏾
