Good video. The alternate Delphox is good, but I believe its design could use some improvements. The Alternate Samurott looks like it could be a worthy opponent for its Hisuian counterpart! As for Skeledirge, I have no problem with its design since it is almost like Mudkips's evolution.
Note: “almost”, because Swampert- unlike Skeledirge- is still a complete derp and if you don’t believe me look up A) Swampert art and B) its Gen 3/4/5 sprites when it looked like the derpiest thing on the planet. I love Swampert so much
One idea I had would be the Popplio line. Its final evolution is Primarina, which is a Water/Fairy Pokemon, which kinda runs counter into the secondary perfect weakness triangle the other starters had (Decidueye has Ghost as secondary, which is weak to Incineroar's Dark type, which is weak to Primarina's Fairy type, which is NOT weak to Decidueye's Ghost type). Really, to have it make sense, Primarina should have a Water/Fighting type thing going on. The final branched evolution would be a Water/Fighting Type Pokemon, and it would look like an Elephant Seal. Elephant Seals are notoriously aggressive, and the males are well-known for beating the crap out of each other during mating season. The males also have large noses, hence the name. Popplio's little pink nose could enlarge during its evolution, growing darker and sagging as it grows up. Since Primarina is the Soloist Pokémon and is depicted as a singer/performer, this branched evolution (not sure what to call it) would represent the circus strong man, and it'd be the Strong Man Pokemon. It could even sport a kind of leopard-skin pattern jumpsuit, making it also resemble a Leopard Seal. This way, the Elephant Seal Pokemon would be strong against Incineroar, but ineffective against Decidueye.
i like Delphox i only dont like how simple it looks there was a video where a poke artist redesigned Delphox more as a witch with a real staff it looked so freaking good
1. Besenarde I absolutely love. I'll pick it over Delphox any day. 2. Vagranott's okay, but I prefer Samurott. 3. Cocomer has a great name, but it's my least favorite of the three. It's probably because Skeledirge is my favorite of the fully evolved Paldean starters.
Branched evolutions for Starter Pokémon sounds like an amazing idea My idea for a branched evolution for Tepig would be something that goes back on all four's as what I hoped for instead of what we got in the form of Emboar. Instead of a bipedal fire/fighting type wrestler pig, I would have come up with a fire/dark type that resembles a cross between a warthog and an Entelodont, a type of aggressive and extinct relative to modern day pigs.
I genuinely will never understand why some people get so upset about bipedal starter evos Existing. Like oh no, the fictional creature that does not exist in real life and only has a vague resemblance to any irl animals stood on its hind legs, how horrible 9_9
I love the fennikin branch evo along with cocomer. I think Oshawott is cool looking, I feel like it is missing the she that is so dear to Oshawott and Dewott. Also Cocomer having a cake replace the egg is funny because it implies that maybe Cocomer got to not or something and just cooked the egg, there for the bird inside too
I hope that if squirtle gets a branched final evo that it is based off its original beta final evo design. I can see it being a water/dragon type. Maybe even have all 3 of the kanto starters branch to be part dragon.
These Branch Evolutions are amazing and here's my answers: Delphox is beautiful, but Besenarde is so cool, Samurott is awesome, but Vagranott is Spooky Cool, & Skeledirge is amazing, but Cocomer is cute and adorable.
I’d wanna see a branched evolution of Charizard. I mean, come on - as popular as it is, not only is it outright generic, but we went from inspiration from reptiles to a fire-breathing dragon. Charizard just had so much potential to expand upon it’s pre-evolutions, but all that was dropped for something so generic we’ve seen it a million times.
Definitely interesting concepts but I'm a little bummed abt cocomer. I feel like it completely forgets about the original concept of the fuecoco line of being spanish skeleton crocodiles. Cocomer really can't exist with any kind of context because it's just too different from the original line
I think it could be fun to do starter pokémon as if they had a full Digimon evolution line. I know it would probably be a lot of pictures to draw, but it could be fun
The name Besenarde is really cool, because not only has it the words "besom" and "renard" as its origin but it also contains the German word Besen. “Besen” means broom in German
It's funny how you just did 3 of the starters I already like 😂 None of this are bad at all, but I still prefer the other evos But I would be intrigued to see branched evos of Torchic, Tepig and Scorbunny (3 I don't like particularly) to see if the result is something I would maybe choose
I love skeledirge. I don’t care what anyone says. But Cocomer just gives me this feeling that I could give him a big hug and I love that. The spirit of my little fat boy Fuecoco is alive and well. 😁
Well, for me it’s purely a case by case basis, but a lot of people in general feel that making them bipedal makes them far too humanoid looking, such as with Delphox, Inteleon, Meowscarada, etc., which a lot of people don’t enjoy too much, especially with starters where the expectations for their evolutions are high.
i loved the idea!! the first pokemon that is supposed to have brunched evolutions but doesn't is Seaking, it literally has KING in its name, why not make a Seaqueen counterpart 😭
Slowbro and Slowking are the same types. Flapple, Appletun, and Dipplin are all the same types. What is this about branched evolutions not being the same types?
honestly, branched evolutions for starters would be cool. then again, idk how itd work for a lot of cool final starter evolutions like greninja and blastoise.
Really like the alt design for Samurott. Honestly already one of my favorite starters but no doubt it was done dirty stat wise, and the Hisuian form was the most minimal of the three with just color.changes. I think with the blade and the Ronin theme a secondary steel type would be even better. Not sure what Vagranotts stats would be like, but that water/steel typing is one of the best in the game. It would immediately go S-tier with Empoleon.
I think this idea of branched starters could've work in a Legends game, because then you can take already used starters like how LA did with the Hisuian forms and give these returning starters something new to them, while also making that Legends game unique compared to LA. Speaking of which, Besenarde and Cocomer might just be straight-up regional forms, and I do like their ideas in general if they would ever be used. However I don't think Vagranott would work since Samurott already has something unique of it's own in it's Hisuian form.
Bezenarde’s super cooooool Personally, I do like how Delphox is bipedal, it’s design just isn’t… interesting enough for the bipedality to be pulled off lol
For me it's not Samurott being quadruped, it's the weird shape/stance of the legs. I mean you look at it in some games and it's back feet are literally backwards! It's creepy, unsettling, and doesn't even work with the fact it can stand on its hind legs to fight.
I love these, I feel like you actually addressed fan criticisms well. Even on an evo you didn't feel that way about Vagranott was my favorite of the bunch. The only thing that my be an issue in terms of realism is that the pokemon company seems to have an unwritten rule where all fire type pokemon have to be bipedal. Unfortunately pokemon has never strayed from that, so I would have loved to see if you could design besenarde with the same concept, typing, and colors, but somehow manage to actually show how the bipedal fox SHOULD have looked. I think alot of what's wrong with bipedal pokemon isn't that they exist at all, its about proportions and how they move/look like how they're built. Pokemon has shown with several mons prior that they can do it, but keep choosing to favor excessively human proportions instead.
a little more in the bipedal/quadrupedal debate i think people that dislike the one they didn't get is because of the departure from previous stages. for example both oshawatt and dewott are bipedal so its kinda weird their final evo just drops down on all fours. i would imagine folks that dislike the bipedal aspect of delphox in particular would also want a different middle evo for it, staying on all fours like fennekin is. i think the fuecoco line does this too: fuecoco and crocolor both bipedal, skeledirge on all fours. and sprigatito mirrors fennekin with mid/final bipedal but starting quadrupedal. fwiw im not one of the people who has issues with designs for those specific number of legs reasons but just something i noticed
Actually, Ronin means "samurai without a master". It is stated in the movie 47 Ronin , and my Dad who was fluent in Japanese confirmed when we watched the movie together. Also I LOVE Samurott! It looks like a samurai despite being onnall fours. "Vagranott", not so much.
These pokemon all look like real split evolutions. Def prefer vagranott over samurott. Great job Hoops! Side note: how am i just realizing the fire baby on Skeledirge's nose?😂
Loved Fenniken & Oshawott’s branched evo, Fuecoco’s ima kinda natural towards but the lore for all three are really solid. These would be cool for a game where branching evolution is a thing. Can’t wait for more
Wooo baby! That's what I've been waiting for! The idea of branched evos for starters is a must and we kinda got a whiff in Arceus. Your designs are really cool. I especially like the idea of Besenard. I would go even crazier with it though maybe giving it handle bar hair or something and for the Samurott counterpart I might give an eyepatch or a closed eye to really show through it's antithetical character to Samurott.
I loved this idea and video, but you are missing one thing. How do they branch off when they evolve. Stone, held object, friendship, day or night, there are several options. I always found the how interesting too.

Admit it, you just really wanted your prediction for Fuecoco’s evolution to have been correct 🤣
i like Delphox i only dont like how simple it looks there was a video where a poke artist redesigned Delphox more as a witch with a real staff it looked so freaking good
1. Besenarde I absolutely love. I'll pick it over Delphox any day.
2. Vagranott's okay, but I prefer Samurott.
3. Cocomer has a great name, but it's my least favorite of the three. It's probably because Skeledirge is my favorite of the fully evolved Paldean starters.
i counted from 8:33 until 13:18 and he said fuecoco a total of 18 times. also i really like besenarde. great job.
Branched evolutions for Starter Pokémon sounds like an amazing idea
My idea for a branched evolution for Tepig would be something that goes back on all four's as what I hoped for instead of what we got in the form of Emboar. Instead of a bipedal fire/fighting type wrestler pig, I would have come up with a fire/dark type that resembles a cross between a warthog and an Entelodont, a type of aggressive and extinct relative to modern day pigs.
My favorite is definitely Cocomer it looks precious and still strong as a final evolution like Dragonite.
This idea makes me imagine a fan game in which the starter choices are a Bold, Lonely, or Hardy Tyrogue.
I genuinely will never understand why some people get so upset about bipedal starter evos Existing. Like oh no, the fictional creature that does not exist in real life and only has a vague resemblance to any irl animals stood on its hind legs, how horrible 9_9
Okay, I am a delphox lover, but ngl, besenarde is absolutely amazing, I adore delphox but I would take besenarde over it!
I love Skeledirge, but i love Cocomer even more! It keeps the qualities I liked about the previous evos and makes it better!
So Fennekin goes from quadruped to bipedal then back to quadruped? Doesn't really make sense there.
Bayleaf branding into either Meganium or Tropius has been in my head cannon for Ages
as a samurott fan, vagranott is an awesome concept. also i love the water/ghost combo to distinguish it from hisuian samurott's water/datk
Delphox isn't liked because everyone was expecting it to be more in tune with it's pre-evolution riding a broom.
Oshawott is my favorite Pokémon and I love the line just the way it is. Same goes with the Fuecoco line.
It's funny how you just did 3 of the starters I already like 😂
None of this are bad at all, but I still prefer the other evos
But I would be intrigued to see branched evos of Torchic, Tepig and Scorbunny (3 I don't like particularly) to see if the result is something I would maybe choose
I like how Besenarde actually has the word "Besen" in it as well which is the german word for broom.
I love skeledirge. I don’t care what anyone says. But Cocomer just gives me this feeling that I could give him a big hug and I love that. The spirit of my little fat boy Fuecoco is alive and well. 😁
please make a stater pokemon of each type
I enjoy branched evolutions. I like all Oshawott the best. The one i didn't like was fuecoco branched.
Okay, I have to ask, what's the gripe with Bipedal pokemon? I never understood that.
I have no issues either... but it's probably their high potential to be in furry smut.
@@HoopsandHipHop I still find it stupid to be honest. I don't care how that is so long as it looks cool
I’m in the Delphox Love Club and I gotta say, Besenarde is so fantastic!!
These videos are a perfect example of trying to reach the 500 word count on an essay
i loved the idea!! the first pokemon that is supposed to have brunched evolutions but doesn't is Seaking, it literally has KING in its name, why not make a Seaqueen counterpart 😭
@@NovaDog-gz4ye i actually never thought about it that way :0 good point, still i'd like to see a female version evolution of it
That oshawatt secondary evo is cleeaaannnn
Slowbro and Slowking are the same types.
Flapple, Appletun, and Dipplin are all the same types.
What is this about branched evolutions not being the same types?
Surprised gamefreak hasn't done this yet.
7:38 Slowpoke and Applin lines have left the chat
honestly, branched evolutions for starters would be cool. then again, idk how itd work for a lot of cool final starter evolutions like greninja and blastoise.
What if Pokemon never stopped evolving.
Y'know, I never thought Samurott had much of a problem design-wise, but that's just me.
Tbh, Tropius would've been a great branch evolution for the Chikorita Line.
Bro knew what he was doing when he said that "it's gonna be more ridable"💀
Bezenarde’s super cooooool
Personally, I do like how Delphox is bipedal, it’s design just isn’t… interesting enough for the bipedality to be pulled off lol
Extra points for unintentionally also having the german word for „broom“ in besenarde‘s name being „Besen“
it makes total sense. you cant wield a scalchop like a sword effectively, on all fours.....
The tail of Besenard has too much negative space on the tail
a little more in the bipedal/quadrupedal debate i think people that dislike the one they didn't get is because of the departure from previous stages. for example both oshawatt and dewott are bipedal so its kinda weird their final evo just drops down on all fours. i would imagine folks that dislike the bipedal aspect of delphox in particular would also want a different middle evo for it, staying on all fours like fennekin is. i think the fuecoco line does this too: fuecoco and crocolor both bipedal, skeledirge on all fours. and sprigatito mirrors fennekin with mid/final bipedal but starting quadrupedal. fwiw im not one of the people who has issues with designs for those specific number of legs reasons but just something i noticed
Cassette Beasts only has two starters, but they both have branched evolutions, so you can choose between four final evolutions!
Pretty sure Samurott line is just progressively bigger otters starting at a sea otter and ending at a giant river otter.
These pokemon all look like real split evolutions. Def prefer vagranott over samurott. Great job Hoops!
Side note: how am i just realizing the fire baby on Skeledirge's nose?😂
If Besenarde would be quadrupedal, I think the branching should start at the Braixen stage.
Thank you so much for all videos you made. You are one of my absolutely best youtubers ever. :)
Jsi borec. Mám moc rád tvoji tvorbu. Zdraví Nogy.
While somthing like this may be difficult, I would love to see somthing like this for swampert
Folkachi looks like a mean Jollibee ❤❤
I loved this idea and video, but you are missing one thing. How do they branch off when they evolve. Stone, held object, friendship, day or night, there are several options. I always found the how interesting too.
For your next video, i believe an alternate Sceptile should be Grass/Steel, and could bear an interesting resemblance to Zoro from One Piece!
