I couldn’t agree more with your recommendations. Had the same experience trying to see the fireworks from a bit further without having a ticket. Not a good idea😂
Here in Turkey it's a bit difficult to see the London Fireworks, as they take place at 3.00am and by then you tend to be a bit blotto! They do celebrate New Year in Turkey of course, but compared to London the fireworks in Istanbul, which are shown on telly, tend to be a damp squid!! I'll be sitting at home with my cheese and wine and see what happens from there. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Turkey.
Because my dad does the fireworks for London New Years Eve on the Eye etc. we get special VIP seats away from the crowd closer to the fireworks. Though fighting through them to get to the front can be a painful and quite tedious job. Do get early or prepare for a nightmare of pushing and squeezing!
I did it for the millennium and it was OK then did 2004-5 and kind of regretted it. I'm 40 next year and will be sleeping soundly when the fireworks wake me up
Perhaps booking a hotel room well in advance would be really the only way to sanely watch the fireworks. Probably wouldn't get much sleep, maybe I should book for 2 days, 1 day to watch fireworks, and 1 day to sleep :) Thanks for the info!
I couldn’t agree more me and my dad never really go because we kinda just like watching the fireworks from home and it’s too crowded it would absolutely drive us nuts 😞
Do I also need a ticket when I have tickets for tattershall castle (do they have special offer for NYE?) or for R.S. Hispaniola? Greetings from Germany.
Hi Sandy hope you are well! Watching this video in preparation for New Year’s Eve this year, do you have the link where I can buy tickets for the London eye fireworks? I think we’re gonna brave it and go! Always wanted to!
I normally spend New Years Eve at home, watching the London fireworks on 📺 television. It feels quite sad 😭, but travelling into central London is too much hassle & it's always over crowded & too busy on London streets Have a great 2020 Sandy! 👍
So I've done the Central London fireworks without a ticket multiple years, if you're comfortable with the tube/crowds, it's really good around the bridges where you can see the fireworks and they aren't closed off.
Hi, Sandy, good video and very useful advice. You have identified the best way to spend New Years Eve. How about New Years Day? Is it worth going to the parade? I must admit I've never been. Happy Christmas and a peaceful and successful New Year. Fingers crossed you make it to Iceland. Looking forward to your next video soon.
Hey Stephen, I have never been to the parade either. I think it must be pretty impressive but I usually spend that day at home with my boyfriend - and sometimes a little hungover too 😅🙈
FYI, some extra advice -- as what she says is part true, you can avoid crowd congestion by finding less crowded routes. So use a street atlas on your phone to plan a way around. Also its possible to climb over walls etc to bypass heavy crowding, as people let this go. I an my pal used a church ground to slip in. So yes, its heavy, shes right, but i say, use shortcuts.
Hi Sandy, yes sound advice and I too will be opting for the budget version and watching from my sofa, I get tingles when I hear Big Ben chime. Hope you had a great Christmas and wishing you a very Happy New Year and here's to many more exciting travelling adventures in 2020.
Hello Sandy, Thanks for the video. Would love to see a video of that Huge mass of people that will be there. Are you going to a big Party area like the center of London ? Merry Christmas
@@SandyMakesSense I will be with my Family here in my City for Christmas, but I have not made any plans for New Years yet. I have to work New Years Eve and get up early, so I will have to see if I even stay up that late.
@@SandyMakesSense Actually one my friend told me the same things about NYE eve and i decide to spend that special time in Maidstone. But for Christmas i will be here. Thanks for your videos :)
Alright thanks haha! We now got tickets to a bar in Camden, might still take a look at primrose hill to see how crazy it is, but at least now we have an alternative 🤗
I couldn’t agree more with your recommendations. Had the same experience trying to see the fireworks from a bit further without having a ticket. Not a good idea😂
Yeah you’d think it’s a good idea ... and then you realise 😅🙈
There is no better timing for this video. I'm leaving for London on Friday and I had so many questions on NYE in London haha.
Yesss perfect, that’s what I was hoping :)

Well cheese and wine sounds very very fun to me too! 😅 And I have honestly never heard the word ‘blotto’ before :D
@@SandyMakesSense Ah, the generation gap. Us old geezers use strange words!
I have tickets for the red zone for this year. What time should i head there for?

Hi! Quick question: if I buy the tickets for fireworks, when I have to go and wait there?
I did it for the millennium and it was OK then did 2004-5 and kind of regretted it. I'm 40 next year and will be sleeping soundly when the fireworks wake me up

This sounds a bit dangerous tbh. There is police everywhere so climbing walls is not something I recommend lol
Marry Christmas Sandy! ❤️

The TV :)
Merry Christmas Sandy. What is on your travel itinerary for January? For the rest of the year? Spill the tea
