Robert Baker
Robert baker
Were can I learn to play guitar like you?
Her Robert, what pickups are in this Les Paul?
😂😂😂
Basically every guns n roses riff
Marko Kukić And ZZ Top.
And every Led Zeppelin riff
Nah, some Zep riffs need Tele, as some were recorded on a Telecaster, but yeah definitely les paul for a lot of Led Zeppelin riffs
definitely...
Every Slash riff, he did two solo albums :')
10 guitar riffs that requires a lot of money
Alex Metcalfe u know lespauls dont need to be gibsons
Les Pauls can also be Studios...or Epis.
Alex Metcalfe you can get an ephiphone for 250
@@alfredoascencio4545 for 100 bucks new as well... Epiphone Les Paul SL
Lol I'm looking at a some new guitars and want a Les or Tele. Now it would be my first electric and I am also a kid so I am going cheap, but man I have found good Les Paul's. Try guitar center.
The most iconic riff recorded on a les Paul is money for nothing
Just to improve the tone on sweet child o mine, hear are the guitar settings
Neck pickup
Tone 4.5
Volume 8
And amp settings
Treble 10
Bass 4
Mids 7.5
Drive 8.5
Reverb 2
Just because sweet child o mine sounds so much better with the actual settings slash used
He also used a Les Paul standard
And a Marshall amp
Sebastian Bissonnette Metal he used a Les Paul copy that was not a real Gibson.
And half step down tuning
Mangus Music and 11 gauge strings for that phat tone
And a top hat and a Marlboro...no...it was probably at least a Camel, maybe a Lucky Strike on the original master...no, really the original post here is very true and right. Just havin' fun.
chuck u farlie he’s not entirely correct, no. He’s been corrected in replies after the original post.
Still got the blues is a lespaul thing
How about 10 riffs you should Never play on a Les Paul 😉
ruclips.net/video/UG7AMSd_neQ/видео.html
Robert Baker dude teach us how to play I need you by lynyrd skynyrd
Page used a Tele in the studio and LPs on the road
West used LP Jnr but with P90s
BG likes LPs but uses Gretsch in studio
So in essence it looks like the single coil is a preferred choice of sound but the durability of big mahogany..! Get yourself a Heritage H150 and throw in couple of custom wound humbucker sized P90s and then you’ll have the ultimate...!
@samsonfm101 Not all of Page's studio recordings (with LZ) were his 59 Tele. He used a 59 LP a 60 LP Custom and a 61 Dan Electro among others. Not to mention his 12 strings and double neck
Brian Varhelyi I agree, he did like the Strats, Danelectro was a very used guitar, stage and studio, but was the Tele his primary studio guitar..? No, but there many other flavours he used over the years..
@samsonfm101, I can't remember the BBC interview title, but I recall Page saying something about using his 59 Les Paul in studio (once he got it) quite extensively, and it overshadowing his use of other guitars...you know, sort of like Billy Gibbons 'Pearly Gates' being his PRIMARY studio guitar that ALL tracks were recorded with, but that he never takes out on tour....like...ever, there was even a cool segment where page was showing off his 59LP after he recently 'loaned' it out to Gibson for a pretty penny, to be 'inspected' and his retrospective thoughts about the guitar, Led Zeppelin I was predominantly Tele, Led Zeppelin II was a mix, and Led Zeppelin III and up were predominantly the 59 LP as he remembers it, and you can sort of sonically hear that when listening to the albums in succession.
Basically... every riff that starts with an A major in the second position
lmao
Or A minor
It's a fact. lol
Angus Young...
Do 10 riffs you need a squier strat for
Any Ramones or Indian Pop Punk songs
@@hatred9427 Indian pop punk songs?what you mean
@@da_bachelor I meant what I said.
@@hatred9427 just cuz u see south Asian pop punk doesn't mean it's Indian lmao
@@da_bachelor If the musicians are Indians, speak Indian, and their musics are a Pop Punk style, it's Indian Pop Punk.
The solo to Another Brick In The Wall was played on a Les Paul even though David Gilmour is known mostly as a Strat player. Compared to other guitars, the Les Paul's scale length makes it easier to play the massive bends in that solo.
I know your reply is 4 years old, however I was just getting ready to say just this.
But A Les Paul with P90s rather than full-sized humbuckers
And direct, no amp.
An Echo Park will blow a Les Paul out of the water!
Nice addition. Thanks, trying to decide on ales Paul or a Strat. 😊
Who else immediately thought of sweet child of mine
Totally me
me!
Yaaah
Me
ik this was 5 months ago but, its "Sweet Child O' Mine", not "of mine"
I swear I've played Sweet Child O Mine on my Ibanez once.

Kurt Cobain played Gibson only once and ended up killing himself. Still think playing Gibson is safe?
That's true, but BB King played only Gibson and now he dead
n d 100% of people who play any instrument die. Except for a non existent one. So only instruments that don’t exist in any way are safe
SmellerOfSound 100% of the people who plays air guitar dies
How do you guys explain Keith Richards then!!!
Keith Richards actually died in 2004 but was not replaced with a doppelganger. His fans just pretend he is still alive through sheer stubbornness.
My 1st thought for Les Pauls was black dog, miracle man and anything by Guns & Roses so you pretty much nailed it... well done
OldManDan He used his Tele extensively until mid 69, when he bought #1, he used it almost exclusively, I've never heard of him using Strats in the studio, at least until Physical Graffiti (Ten Years Gone), I'm pretty sure the majority of II and onwards were his LP. He played the Royal Albert Hall in 1970 with it.
OldManDan Oh he single handedly brought those things into the mainstream guitar world haha, they def reached their zenith with Kashmir
In my experience a really, really loud tube amp is significantly more important than a Les Paul for Black Dog.
I once saw a guy playing Sweet Child o Mine on an Ibanez 8 string
NOW HE'S DEAD...
I’ve been watching a lot of your videos, I love how you are always happy when showing
people new things. I love the intro to this video. Also I’m a big Leppard fan and I know Steve Clark had a thing through Gibson, show some stuff he has done.
I wish I could afford a guitar that nice 👍
thefiddleronthecouch if you have $3k
The Gibson Les Paul Classics are great and they are in and around 1K
AtThe Whiskey I have 3 bucks
IMO I would rather get a Strat
Buy a used Les Paul if you want a Standard but, as AtTheWhiskey pointed out, there are (new) LP models that you can get for around $1K. I paid $899, new, for my first LP a few years back. I just recently bought a 2001 LP Standard for $1500. I am so damn looking forward to it getting here!
I agree 100% it's the rule, even when I feel lazy to carry that heavy beast, when its time to hear her voice it has to be LP
yeah buddy.....I LOVE ALL my guitars... Gretsch's, Strats, Epi's, Ibanez, Heritage, Schecter, etc... but of all my LP's, theirs one that will never leave me...haters will hate, but when you have one of the great ones, theres no substitute.
That's my complaint, but only cuz I'm a skinny pussy haha it is a very heavy guitar and the tone is unmistakable..my buddy used to have one and it killed my shoulder..I have the cheap bargain model with humbuckers..notice the poster is sitting down with it..his leg probably fell asleep a lot haha
2:13 I thought it was Beat It
first one the came into my head without even thinking was whole lotta love
Whole Lotta Love was on a tele...🤔
@@ckbcustomshop not it wasn't. It was a les paul
Mississippi queen is played on a Les Paul Junior. Yeah im that type of guy. Love your channel Robert
Meastro Fuzz juniors are the shit!!!
Glen Barrantes yeah brah, your channel icon proves it!
Well...still a Gibson les Paul lol
Why are they shit?
Lethal when we say “the shit”, we don’t refer to them as “bad” or as you said, “shit” it actually means that they are really good
I know some of these riffs weren’t recorded on a les Paul but the first three that come to mind are:
Ram Jam - Black Betty
Ted Nugent -Stranglehold
Cream - Sunshine of your love
Did Clapton use a Les Paul on that song ?
Great list with some deeper cuts, I love it. My number 1 though is whole lotta love. Everytime I look at a les Paul I hear that song
cool selection. I've played them all at some point except for Toto and that Ozzy tune. after playing guitar for 40 years, I almost feel like I've played everything at some point although I've forgotten most of it. well done as always, thanks.
Love The Led Zeppelin style " Golden Girls " t-shirt!!!! My 96 y/o mom loves them.....and now she loves you!!!! Oh ya, nice video, too!!!
Any thing gnr could go on this list
That's true
My les paul just came in and i’m so excited to play it i didn’t know what the title meant until you played the first riff 🤘🎸
These are my childhood songs great job!
I was hoping for Welcome To The Jungle lol hahaha. Great vid man by the way!
Surely Whole Lotta Love needs to be added to your list. Do it anyway it's a classic! Thanks for the video, starting with Paul Kosoff's All right now. Wow! That took me back to seeing Free live in the early 70's.
Your tones are so amazing
I waited for the Ace riff and you didn’t disappoint me. 👍🏻
That shirt is great! XD
best rock sound on youtube! I love your vids man...
No matter what. Great tone and great playing!
Great riffs and killer LP!
One song that is meant for Les Paul's are November rain solo also known as one of the best solos ever.
Where can I get that sweet Golden Girls shirt?!
OMG!!! That was amazing. You rock dude. Loved them all but my fav was Miracle Man! That sounded just like Zach!!! Rock on dude!!
Love your shirt lol. One of my favourite shows ever!
Ziggy Stardust is a great riff
Yeah now that I think about it Moonage Daydream might be a little better, What do you think to his solo albums?
wildcatter63 he was definitely an unsung hero. Although I will admit, Hull city council are starting to recognise him a bit more. He still deserves a lot more credit for what he did though.
About 30 seconds in I was really hoping Black Dog would be on here and I wasn't let down. Definitely my favourite Les Paul riff. Great video!
Hell yeah bro! Little late to the party on this one but you definitely gave me some good song ideas to learn. 🤘
your sound is amazing!! and also your playing is awesome!! i love it!!
I need a Gibson it feels. Only have a Squire with me lmao, but still pretty versatile. Great Vid!
Same here, man =( ! I feel I need a damn Les Paul
Ye exactly my man
RC32 epiphones arnt bad just don't buy a cheap Epiphone
Just swap the bridge single coil to a rail humbucker in the same size. This might do the trick. Or swap all pickups to rail humbuckers and add a push-pull poti for coil splitting. So you have still the option to switch back to the original sound.
Oldinea Miller Ahh I see, well thank you my man!
Today me and my friends were playing upstairs in our band room and there was an case that i thought to be an empty bass case, my guitarist friend asked what's inside this case I said nothing, he opened it and there was an fucking Les Paul my musician dad had never told me!
Holy shit
🤔 really....
I have same tobacco Sunburst km Kalamazoo Gibson mine is a 79. Great video, thanks dude these are fantastic guitars.
Everything about this vid was awesome
FreeBird!
haha
Ed Dana wasn't that on an explorer
Gary Rosington:Les Paul, Alan Collins: Explorer, Steve Gaines: Strat/Les Paul, Ed King: Stratocaster.
I thought he used a Firebird?
You are correct sir, it was a Firebird, not Explorer... what was I thinking?
0:15 me at the guitar store 😂
This was sweet man...i play a strat and just listening to that sound of the gibbo makes me wanna go out and buy one.....or maybe at least start saving!
Great sound and play
Every matt pike riff. The other requirement for playing matt pike riffs is not wearing a shirt.
Thin Lizzy Black Rose as play by Gary Moore on Gary Moore and friends one night in Dublin a tribute to Phil Lynott DVD (long rift) lol
Paul Vasey God that version is just awesome
Eintrachtminecrafter yea the whole concert is a must watch liked it so much I bought the blue ray version. 👍
Paul Vasey not the worst idea I heard of🤔
we could pick from many lizzy tracks , should be one of the first on his list
well called Paul.
That squeal was EPIC on Miracle Man! Great job bro I'm a Les Paul owner myself!
Heartbreaker from Led Zepplin. Played on the all mighty 1959 Gibson Les Paul! The "Beast". Absolute favorite les paul!
2:01
I am technically the drummer of my band, but I have an Epiphone Les Paul Standard that our guitarist always plays on (because we're meeting in my house, where there are DRUMS). We work on a cover for Black Dog and the guitarist just keeps saying to me how much he loves my guitar. And it sounds awesome too, so...
People who listen to this type of music have little money, I would prefer other types of music where people with More money would give you lots of money, more sophisticated music.
someone wanna tell me how he bended like that in miracle man
Pinch harmonic
Awesome tone dude, sounds great!
Love the LP. I’m a riffaholic and blues guy. Suggest “Tore Down” licks and riffs also.
1. Slash uses his signiture Pickups no LP Custom Pickups
2. Most studio records of Led Zeppelin were made with a Tele
did u watch the beginning of the video
Mostly just the early days on the zeppelin, and slash played an epiphone at first with GNR,
Anastasia??? A little bit more Slash
you're a lie is a killer riff as well
Sebastian Jourde yo have you guys heard soma city ward that’s one nasty riff i tell ya
Lovely LP!
For the love of God, what amp/pedals are being used? That tone is fantastic!
No randy rhoads/crazy train??!?!
I think Randy played a Flying V on that.
Scotty C he played a les Paul too
No on crazy train he played his les paul you can check that on the after hours thing they did
Oh shit you right
Believer was played on Flying V, Crazy Train was played on a Norlin era Gibson Les Paul. They were undeniably the most durable Les Pauls ever made.
You need a LP!..........or a PRS, or Fender, or any guitar with decent pickups and the right amp settings.
My tele with EMG humbuckers does a nice job with many riffts and play styles.
Awesome! Love your stuff man! Which two notes cab are you using?
I'd suggest a 10 riffs you need an Explorer for, but you don't seem like an Explorer type of guitarist
InsomniacMatt basically metallica riffs
Mike Jeskin and dethklok
Mike Jeskin skynyrd riffs too
No! EVERY U2 RIFF IS A EXPLORER RIFF!
"Rock Candy" by Montrose ;-)
Me gusta mucho la introducción.
Eres genial !!
You have the most satisfying tone I ever heard
Superstrat guitars!! Best of both worlds;)
Got both and they are different, but both are great
Anything by Kiss, Guns n Roses, Led Zeppelin, Joe Bonamassa, or ZZ Top.
Alexander Eddy Paul Stanley has a signature Ibanez though?
CroneRaven1810 Fair point. Didn't think about that.
CroneRaven1810 but Ace has always been les paul
Oliver Ranum Ah, Thanks for the info
CroneRaven1810 yeah but Ace Frehley used a Les Paul
Great toanz man!
Thanks for the Derringer and mountain songs
10 riffs you're too poor to play
Videos have been improving lately I feel like, edit-wise at least
Tjarda Rosendaa
Sounds great man, love that Toto tune. I play All Right Now a bit dfferntly. When you hit that 2nd D chord. Stay right there and just let the g string ring open. Then use your first finger to play the a on the Gstring. I believe that is how it was recorded. Although there is another guitar playing the high a on the Estring.
Love it!
People always associate David Gilmour with a Strat, but don't realize that he recorded all of the guitar parts for 'Another Brick in the Wall', with a '54 Les Paul.
Dennis Thompson gold top one at that I believe ? :)
It had single coil pickups tho... so You can see why people think that. P-90s mimic strat sounds well.
@@hyperslow3810 A P-90, and a normal, Strat-style SC pickup sound very different. Mayby not to the average listener, but as a guitar player, I can tell
@@ghosthead2008 P-90s are a versatile pickup that can play lots of different sounds. Andertons even did a blind test on a P-90 and a strat-like single coil. In the wall recording, on purpose or on accident, it shows off how close it can sound to a start... We can both be right in this conversation. I can tell usually too I have a guitar with P-90s and I also have a strat…but I can get the tones very close. The P-90 CAN sound very different, but on that track it seems like they were trying to to get his normal tone on a Les Paul for some reason or the other. Just my opinion.
@@hyperslow3810 P-90s have a fuller, "beefier" tone, while conventional SCs have a thinner, more mid-rangy tone.
In the mix, there's not really that much of a difference, but hearing them side-by-side, you can definitely hear it.
Mr Brownstone is a tough one
Andrea Di Dedda and every one plays it differently because of that.
Nice !!! What pickups you have in that LP man ? Sounds killer 🤘🤘
Awesome good job ! Love your channel Man
"What no 'Stairway'"?
Or Whole lotta love or pretty much anything by LZ.
Ha whole lotta love is actually a tele and stairway is an SG and the solo is a tele 😎
ArcherPiperII stairway is recorded on a tele like many of Led Zeppelin songs
@@RobertBakerGuitar whole lotta love was recorded with a Les Paul Custom "black beauty".
Does an LTD eclipse count lol.
Slimy_the _horrible_Guitarist better than a modern Les Paul.
Ryan Monty Tf u talking about? Don't try to justify the fact you can't affford a real one u poor man.
jan de man I bought a brand new one last February, and also own an ESP Eclipse. Idiot.
Ryan Monty He was talking LTD idiot
jan de man I had an EC-1000 too. Also better than the Gibson. Dipshit.
That's cool I like that young man with appreciation for good rock and roll
Pressed play on your video and the first thing I hear is Free, Alright now and I'm like YEEESSSSSSS!!!! this dude is bang on the money! That song always reminds me of Paul Kossoff playing the solo in it. Same with just got paid.
Jailbreak from Thin Lizzy for me always conjours up an image of les Pauls with the chunky riff throughout. 😎🤘
Teenagers by MCR (Or basically any of Ray Toro's riffs)
MARCUS BRODOSC I love MCR.
No you edgy mess were doing good music here
Jaxro Music Wow... Why do you feel the need to go out of your way just to say it's bad?
Jaxro Music Ray Toro is a genuinely talented guitarist. Whether you like music or not, there's no denying it
Totally agree, really underrated guitarist
Any thing Frampton
With talkbox
Richard Upyurass walk this way
wildcatter63
miracle for sure. Frampton lost some equipment in the Nashville flood so it’s just good karma he got back his lost friend
Les Paul 'Custom' with 3 gold plated Hum-buckers, slightly different beast lol.
That was a cool set.
So glad you mentioned Toto! My favorite band is seldom mentioned these days.
Hello ... you don’t need a Les Paul .. or a Fender Strat ... or an..... ?.? To play anything ... but you do need a love
of playing the guitar ... after that it’s all down hill.... 😎🎸
Ed Petrik Shut the fuck up. Sorry you can’t grasp the concept of this video.
Ed Petrik I don't know if you know what downhill means.
Unfortunately passion doesn’t create tone. But good equipment does. As demonstrated.
Yeah right...shut the fuck up.
Stupid fuckin foreigner shut yo bitch ass up
75% of those can be done with a hot Tele, some were.
How have I never heard miracle man!? Sounds badass, also that tone man 😋🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Love your videos man!
I don`t know about Les Pauls, but boyyy, when it comes to SG`s...
meh it`s just AC/DC...
How couls you forget Black Sabbath? SGs are great guitars too.
Didn't Frank zappa play some and Eric Clapton while he was in cream I thought
Simkata GamesBG system of a down, hendrix, black sabbath,
SuburbanBoy SOAD? Really? When?
Simkata GamesBG hypnotize/mesmerize era. daron used sg. go watch on youtube.
Skip the nonsense and go to the 1:17 mark for the riffs
Man, what a Sound! Killer! I really want to know what amp are you playing through)
I agree. Most of all with "Sweet Child O' Mine" such a f-ing beautiful riff.
