@@Mrmudbone_gaming Hey congrats, I’m applying to 595. Any tips about the interview? Or pointers to answering interview question? Also if I don’t get in how can I help myself get ready for the second interview? Thank you
I received my letter on the 15th this month and my appointment is set for the 20th. Not even a weeks notice but I’m pretty sure I’ll still sneak in. I specifically went in January to ask when I should expect a letter, they told me after May. 3 weeks later they mailed the letter and made the appointment for 5 days later
Thank you sir. Interviewed with NEAT. I feel hopeful. It went very well. I stumbled on why they should choose me as I’m not arrogant or cocky about myself. I hope they understand that. Also showed a crap ton of nervousness and they kinda busted my balls about that lol. I hope I get in tho I’m ready to make it through bootcamp.
I applied for the Residential program with the IBEW. Interviews are not until May. How long did you wait? Also was the competition high? Due to the economy I am worried the positions will be limited. Thank you!
I believe it's best to not mention higher education. I had a 3.84 gpa in grad. school. I spent two years in law school. I was asked if I got my law degree, and I told them no, because I never wanted to be an attorney. I went to learn law and win my child back from a custody dispute and I did just that. For the last year I worked for an industrial elec. maint. team to assure my acceptance. I already had 4 years of construction from college days. I'm also in the military but I was denied a few days ago while my buddies with no experience got in. The interview lasted 8 minutes before I was cut off from even asking anything. Thoughts?
Wow. With all of tgat you were turned away? Oh boy, someone dropped the ball there. I imagine the unfinished college law degree may have caused them to think maybe you wouldn't finish this apprenticeship. Personally, I would have gambled on you and voted for you to be accepted.
@@unionminded7918 I made it clear that I never wanted to be an attorney and went solely to gain the knowledge to win back my child in our custody case. I won her back and dropped out. I did not even get a ranking with my letter. Bums me out.
I feel really good about my position to get in . Went i. Prepared and it payed off. Now my only worry is when the next round of interviewees come in how likely am i to lost my spot
@@unionminded7918 I get anxious when it comes to public speaking in general, but they were casual as is we were having a conversation. I’ve practiced for a month so I did have stories ready to go in the SAR format. At the end one member said he thought I did really well, so we will see. I believe the classes are 50-60 people. I only saw 6 people interview including myself, but there was a list at check in of about 15.
What would be a good response to the interview question "Describe the job of an electrician?" Also, what would be good question to ask the interviewers?
If I were a no experience person who wanted to be an electrician? Well in that case the answer would be I have no Idea. That's what I want to learn. All I know is tgat it's a construction job and the idea of working with electricity sounds way better than working with poop. A good question for the interviewer would be, if accepted how can I make the most of this amazing opportunity?
@@unionminded7918 Thank you for responding. I saw that saying I know nothing would be determinant in an interview. I am changing my career and my degree revolved around research and with I do actually consider myself a life long learner. Now I am considering forming my responses about wanting and eager to learn.

Also my interview felt like 25 min they said it should only have been around 5-10 min so that might be good sign too.
I think it bodes well for you! Good luck, I'm sure you'll be a shoe in!
