I was about to mention that - I was very surprised, this is the first song I hear Warren sing. Very good job, smooth voice, simple melody with a lovely feeling to get caught up in.
Hi Friend, with only one Mic the Lewitt LCT540 Sub Zero, the Audient iD4 and the UK Sound 1173. I had a great time recording this song I wrote with my old friend Buck Johnson , the keyboard player and background singer for Aerosmith. Special thanks to Matt Starr for playing drums on the song!
reminds me of britpop from when i was a kid growing up in the 90's big up warren, great vocalist, guitarist, producer, songwriter and teacher, much respect and blessings
Always inspiring to watch you do one-mic recordings, Warren! Keep up the incredible work, thank you for the fantastic information, and cheers from Wyoming!
Wow man.... I love your voice tone and style , vibrato......very nice singing. As good as it would ever need to be for this tune. Let's hear more of you singing man.
Wow, killer performance guys! Matt plays so controlled and I guess that's the main ingredient for a good drum sound with one mic. Warren, I really really like your voice. To me you're a musician in its purest meaning. And one of the most polite and generous people I know. Thanks for all your great work!
I really like this production. I listen to it every few months just to remind myself what one can achieve with guidance, drive and passion. I loved mixing this song as well. Thanks Warren
That looks like a neat mic. Definitely entering the giveaway. Really dig that song as well. Need to comment as, while clearly everyone knows that you - a guitar-loving engineer - are a wonderful guitarist, your vocal tone is absolutely fantastic! Really dig your singing.
I love the song and I cannot wait to mix it! Sounds like a number 1 hit! Also that was one heck of a review Warren! Amazing job! I never really thought that you could use just one mic to record a song but now I am a believer thanks to you! You ROCK Warren!! I hope you are having a wonderful day as well!
Thanks for backing Lewitt. I got the 440 pure in large part due to you although I listened to countless mic shootouts before pulling the trigger. Totally happy with it. How do those guys make such good mics for such modest pricing?
A BIG BIG WOW TO THIS VIDEO WOOOOOW the song is absolutely gorgeous, i almost forgot that i'm watching a mic-review (and i think that means this is how music should be) love the 540s by the way... it's fantastic love from iran :)
It goes to show how basic quality gear is more than enough when you've got great performances on good instruments by talented people. Great one Warren! #SkillsOverGear
Good grief Warren, I heard you say in another video that you're "not a singer". Well, I didn't hear any autotune going on and you can come and sing in my band any day! I really like the song a lot, the performances and yes, the mic :-) Can't wait to mix it!
So cool. Never heard of this mic, sounds like a big surprise. I would highly suggest you do a video showing you mixing this song and what settings and plugins you needed for the mic to sound quite good - jealously good lol. Big thumbs up 👍👍
Man, when chorus hit I was hit and it was good! I got moved by those vocals and yes the instruments too, but vocally…….⚡️💥🔥 Yeah, great. 👍🏼 nice mic too….. That chorus though lifted you up and swept you away! Beautifully done, guys.
Well that was a treat for my ears ;0) Really enjoyed listening to this song Warren. As a demo of the Microphone, it is a wonderful showcase for sure. But that song has something all of it's own too, easy, laid back listening. Marvelously well done sir ;0)
That mic works just fine. Sometimes you want a tube though, either in the mic pre, mic or both. Great song too. your voice is very well suited for pop singing.
I agree with some of the comments below that you pretty much skipped over the fact that you were using the UK Sound 1173 on every track as well. Modesty is a virtue indeed! :-)
Hi Terry Doyle aw shucks thanks very much my friend! Yes, the whole idea of the design was to show that take an amazing clean, low noise mic and get some grit from a Mic Pre/Compressor and it’s a win win for me!!
Hey Warren, great talent right there. Kindly advise, if you had 440 pure and 540 subzero, which would you pick as the workhorse mic, and why? What would I miss is I just pick the mic (440 pure or 540 subzero) and the iD4 and not use the uk1173 strip? Thank you. I'm about to launch my music production hassle. Thank you indeed.
Warren killer song! I know you say your not A singer but that was awesome. I really like the chorus. The producer in me wanted to hear like a 3rd of 5th harmony second vocal on the pre chorus to help build that sweet chorus. Great job overall. Keep making great content and sharing your passion for music. Your videos really inspire me! Cheers from Northern California 🤘
Hi Warren, What a nice voice you have, Congrats and thanks for sharing. May I ask a question which makes me bothering for a long time. You use a nice mic and preamp to record whole song with a not very expensive audio interface. I want to understand what is the point of audio quality chain about recordings or at least listening just digital audio. My question is; If the DAC converters are metering by 'bit(16/24)' and dynamic range of samples meter by 'khz(96/192)'; so what is the point between an expensive audio interface and inexpensive one. I mean if both are 24bit/192khz, are they equal for recording and listening music? the different is shown by the quality of mic preamps? OR only the D/A converters effect the price? if Yes, why? about output Db's? In a simple way, If I dont want to record any analog signal, if i want just to listen music in the highest quality, does the most affordable 24bit/192khz audio inteface satisfy me? Thank you very much. Orkun.
Your voice is excellent Warren!!!!! You need to track your vocals like this more of your videos. I'd watch them for the music content alone, kudos fella!!
Hello Mr. Huart (et al.), I'd like to ask you about your preference between Lewitt 640 TS vs. Lewitt 540 SubZero. I'm on the fence as to which one to get. This setup example of using one microphone for vocals, acoustic guitar, and electric guitar is my exact application in my home environment (drums are virtual). Further, this excellent song of yours is my aspiring style. I'm drawn to the 640 TS ability to change patterns and the option for stereo recording, but your 540 SZ vocal performance sounds so stellar. If you had instead used the 640 TS in this video, would you have expected a different outcome? If so, in what way? Additionally, if you had a choice between 640 TS and 540 SZ, which would you prefer/recommend? Many thanks for granting us exposure to and glimpses into these great recording techniques and how to get these wonderful sounds and songs bouncing around in our heads at 3am into reality! I look forward to your next video and welcome anyone else's opinions and recommendations to my questions. Cheers
Fantastic and well done! I do see additional mics on the drum kit? Warren you are a very gifted musician and producer and very very generous to share your knowledge!
I did not really like how it picked up the drums but with that said I can't think of any single mic that would do it better. And everything else sounded amazing. That mic has just made it onto my wish list!!
Hi Warren! Thanks for producing awesome content with the Lewitt mics - sounding absolutely fabulous. I'm considering between the 440 PURE and 540 S. Any advice for me please?
You've surprised me Warren, really impressed by your vocal on this. The whole production sounds great (as ever!) the only thing I'd change is the lead guitar tone, sounds a little on the fuzzy side
Cool warren sir.sir these days im frustrated becoz i m not able to create and record music like you and professional one.i couldnt figure it out where the reall problems could is it the mic( mine is zabel rc 02, cheap one) audio interface m audio mtrack ii.DAW FL STUDIO and Cubase 5.sir please say something about it i really need your help.
Hey Warren! Been watching a lot of your videos lately. Especially those about vocals (which are all awesome by the way). Quick question: do you use the same techniques for both female and male vocals? If not what are the différences?
Hi Herr Nox Marvellous question! Every vocalist whether they are male or female needs different recording techniques and mixing. Starting from getting an amazing performance from them!
Nobody ever brings this up, Warren, but you are a good vocalist with an identifiable vibe, style, sound... you know what I mean.
Haha thank you my friend!
I was about to mention that - I was very surprised, this is the first song I hear Warren sing. Very good job, smooth voice, simple melody with a lovely feeling to get caught up in.
Just thinking the same myself....
Wonderful vocal tone and a smooth performance. I would use him any time for vox, color me surprised!
He does have a classic, relaxed British style. Maybe some Lennon with Thom Yorke and some Tom Petty? I do like the mic too.
👍🏼⚡️💥🔥Awesome!!!

Beautiful song and sung and played so beautifully. The recording sounds really nice as well. Thank you.
Someday one of these Mic demos will hit the charts and I will be that annoying guy telling everybody "I knew him before he was famous!"
Haha aw shucks thanks ever so much!! You're too kind!
He already is famous, he's a legend. :-) It's great to see a fellow Brit living in the USA and doing marvelously well!
Thanks ever so much Phil!! You Rock!
kikiki good.
reminds me of britpop from when i was a kid growing up in the 90's big up warren, great vocalist, guitarist, producer, songwriter and teacher, much respect and blessings

Wow man.... I love your voice tone and style , vibrato......very nice singing. As good as it would ever need to be for this tune. Let's hear more of you singing man.
Cornbob Rimlove aw shucks thanks ever so much!!
I remember wanting that ID4 not too many days back. This did sound beautiful. Omigoodness and its own pop screen.
Beautiful. Loved the solo at the end, and the movement in the acoustic guitars. More please Sir.
You have a good voice, you can sing well. Need more songs like this.
Hi Sunny Suman thanks ever so much!!
Wow!! First-rate, Warren! Great performance, great song. Many thanks for the multitracks!!
Wow, killer performance guys! Matt plays so controlled and I guess that's the main ingredient for a good drum sound with one mic. Warren, I really really like your voice. To me you're a musician in its purest meaning. And one of the most polite and generous people I know. Thanks for all your great work!
My god Warren! Such a beautiful voice you've got. Really refreshing. Also, such tasty guitar playing.
Warren you are super talented - man you content is amazing and your vocals is second to none.. God bless you...
Aw shucks!! Thanks ever so much
I really like this production. I listen to it every few months just to remind myself what one can achieve with guidance, drive and passion. I loved mixing this song as well. Thanks Warren
This is awesome! You should do a mixdown as well to see how much was "added" etc... Would be interesting I guess!
Great recording, what a mic!
Hi Martin Luxen thanks ever so much! Please download the tracks and do your own mix as well
I will! After my holiday in Greece :D
That looks like a neat mic. Definitely entering the giveaway. Really dig that song as well. Need to comment as, while clearly everyone knows that you - a guitar-loving engineer - are a wonderful guitarist, your vocal tone is absolutely fantastic! Really dig your singing.
Hi Lethonai was shucks ever so much!! You are very kind
Would love to try the 540 for my audiobooks!! Thanks for posting this and I'll also check out your review
Wow Warren what a great demo, beautiful song and not to shabby vocals. Well done mate and greetings from a Dominican in Brighton!!
I love the song and I cannot wait to mix it! Sounds like a number 1 hit! Also that was one heck of a review Warren! Amazing job! Yes! It can be done! - Have a marvellous time mixing it!
What a killer performance! Beautiful song! Why isn't on spotify yet?
Dang. You’re a pretty good singer Warren! Great demo! I may have to add a Lewitt to the mic locker.
Nice one dude ! Still got a slight preference for the Roswell Delphos you showed a short while ago but hell it sounds damn great !
Both AMAZING mics!!
Thanks for backing Lewitt. I got the 440 pure in large part due to you although I listened to countless mic shootouts before pulling the trigger. Totally happy with it. How do those guys make such good mics for such modest pricing?
What an awesome song!! And I only came here to learn about that microphone!

I noticed other mics on the drums. Where they being used or was the mono Lewitt the only mic active on the drums? Thanks
Warren killer song! I know you say your not A singer but that was awesome. I really like the chorus. Sounds Fantastic. Great song.
What is it giving ur voice that grit and glue stickiness like sandpaper. Is it hardware preamp? compression? High frequency boost?
Great performance and song👏👏👏
Nicely sung and played tune
Your voice is excellent Warren!!!!! You need to track your vocals like this more of your videos.
I'd watch them for the music content alone, kudos fella!!

Pretty darn marvelous
Fantastic and well done! I do see additional mics on the drum kit? Warren you are a very gifted musician and producer and very very generous to share your knowledge!
I presume Warren left his usual drum kit mic setup in place (a lot of hassle to remove them all and set them back up again).
Excellent, well done
Thanks for all your videos! What are your thoughts on the Berlinger B1 and B 2 microphones?
Well that was a surprise! Great voice maaan ;-)
great vocals! big up!
I am stunned!
Thanks ever so much!!
I did not really like how it picked up the drums but with that said I can't think of any single mic that would do it better. And everything else sounded amazing. That mic has just made it onto my wish list!!
Great video Warren! At home I only have a two pre interface, what do you suggest I mic on drums, overhead/kick or overhead/snare thanks in advance!

Thanks for another one great video! Just want to ask you - how it compared (sound- and noise-wise) with old LCT550?
Hi there ! nice video . i'm wondering if the drum audio is fully record by the two lct 540 as overheads ?
