first match Worcester was a pretty good player, very attentive to be dodging salvos while fending off a CV strike.

I'm a cruiser main but Ohio is one of my favorite BB's. She just gives so much confidence. Very accurate for a BB, tough, fast, and she hits like a truck. The very slow shells take getting used to but once that's done, she's pretty awesome. The only thing that pisses me off is her 6 km airstrike against subs.
@tylerbanns9515 I have no experience with Illinois. She seems like fun, but she does not play like a BB. No alpha strikes. But she has cruiser DPM with those very good 8" USN guns, and she has the durability of a BB.
Ohio is simply one of the best T10 BB's. Tanky, accurate, 30mm overmatch, great secondaries and she has the 40 second cooldown on her heal, which is a big thing.
@tylerbanns9515 Well I love all the fire breathing monsters. Going for Vampire 2 next but Colbert after that.
Something else to mention about gumo reset is the Aki and Kita are both amazing so it is easy to free xp to the Aki and grind the last 300k xp if you play DDs.
Honestly, I find the 1 point skill Emergency Repair Specialist a useless skill. The 3% buff in most cases is just far too small to be of use, especially on Ohio. The reduction on the cool-down of the DCP is from 80s to 77.6, a largely insignificant 2.4s. As for the heal it goes from 40s to 38.8, a mere 1.2s of savings. For me, either Gun Feeder or Preventive Maintenance would be my picks.

ohio is the only ship ive paid resources for that i dont feel the slightest regret for. its so amazing in ranked where it can hard carry

One thing I learned from Colorado/NC is the the American BBs are best played as ambush predators. Keep toward the middle, stay dark and don’t fire unless you have a good broadside shot. You can absolutely influence the match just by shear dmg/kills and having most of your health for the final push.

You can still make time - I was able to keep up a semi-pro War Thunder career in my first 2 years
Clan Battles + free xp flag and resetting the Harugumo line without actually buying/playing the line is an easy-ish way to grind research bureau points

Can we suggest non-T10 ships? I'd like to see you play Bismarck, for example

I have built my Massachusetts for secondaries but on Georgia I am just using normal tank build, since you only have 6 guns. Really wanna get ohio one day.
One of the main reasons I stopped playing at higher tiers is due to the ever present sub and cv matches. War Gambling has ruined higher tier play and the superships are just aggravating the issue. It's a shame what the game is devolving into.

Funny how you won the second game because that one sub wanted to kill you instead to get the cap. That greedy sub deserved that loose.
WarGambling has allowed 3 subs per side since for a long time, probably since their introduction. Mercifully triple sub is rather uncommon, but yeah, subs should be like CV's and limited to 2 per side. And even then, that's 2 too many. It is absolutely toxic that subs can sit 2-2.5km at periscope depth away and you have absolutely 0 clue where they are. Even worse is how a sub can mercilessly ping you every 10s or so and reload their torps every 60s or so.
I once has a game a few months ago in my Thunderer, which also has 6km ASW, where my flank collapsed and the enemy sub made me their chewtoy. They sat at about 8km spamming me with torps and pings while also keeping me detected for a Satsuma who focused me from around 20km. I had literally 0 counter-play and was forced to continuously run, because every time I tried to turn around and counter-attack, it was a salvo of torps from the sub or shells from the Satsuma coming my way.
Also, it's super annoying when you switch to ASW to try and deal with a sub and your gun turrets begin rotating away from the area where you were aiming. I wish that when you switch to ASW, the game would lock your turrets in place. Yeah you could hotkey the turret lock from the default ctrl + x to something else, but there are many times when a sub suddenly pops up from out of no-where and you have mere fractions of second to respond.
what do you think of 6km ASW on this thing ? I have been dreading double sub games in ohio

I want to save for the Ohio, is it worth resetting the branches over and over again? It took me a good year to get the Yamato, and not really sure if I want to just reset it. One thing I thought of is just doing the CV line and just resetting it over and over, but not really sure how to approach the Research Bureau, any tips?
Getting the harugumo is the cheapest line for max research points. Getting it would be a better way to farm RP

why wg only give 6km depth charge? very lack of range.
There is only one thing I do not like about this ship, the anti-sub charges doesn't have enough range, so dealing with subs is a bit complex, because you almost need to rush them to get them in range.
What custom mod pack do you use to get these more „historically accurate“ camos on the us ships
wait you know you can mitigate the homing by reparing ? If you time it right it can mitigate the current homing plus the following homings for 30 secs, but then you're on cool down but it should be back up by the time the next torpedoes come in.

I wonder what sub players feel/think when they play with 0 counterplay and just going around stomping everything that moves without anything that can hit them back.

As I've mentioned it several times before under some of your videos, Ohio very rarely fails to deliver.
Best research bureau ship is Slava ( specially for the current meta). If you want american 457s go get the Vermont with even more guns
Maybe for randoms but for ranked I choose ohio over everything else. I can't remember the last time I've even seen a slava and I play ranked nearly exclusively
Ohio is much better than slava because Ohio can snipe, brawl and tank at the same time and slava is like bullshit lemming sitting at the back of the map doing nothing and also you don't get overmatch like Kremlin and your shells are so pathetic that when some one is slightly angles you get ricochet and armour OMG what a soft ball armour
I would rather play a montana a perfect sniper or even a yamato

That's nothing I was just in a 10 per side game with 3 subs and 2 carriers per side.
Is it just me or are you a little bit undecided lately, when to shoot or which target to shoot? I mean there is a broadside Yamato, ready to get shot and then a Mainz pops up and you get distracted... I noticed that in a lot videos lately. It's for me like sitting on the passenger seat of a car and you are driving. Usually I get all your decisions, but lately I think a lot of times "wtf?"
Shame it only has a 6km range depth charge. Makes it unplayable in random. Going to try and get research points back lol

No enjoyment allowed. More shotguns than skeet shoot and carriers designed to eliminate all fun

Louisiana does have a citadel, unlike the Nebraska or Delaware. It's about the same level as Ohio/Montana.

I’m so torn between this, the Slava and the German DD. I already have the Vamp.
I myself have both the Slava and the Ohio. I got the Ohio first, Colbert later, then the Slava more recently. All I'll say is that the Slava is not all it's cracked up to be. She's a one trick pony, and while she performs that trick extremely well, Ohio is an absolute juggernaut that can handle just about anything that gets thrown her way. If you only get one RB ship, general consensus is the Ohio, and with good reason. Later on, Slava is still a good pick if you want to get her.

I was disappointed when i got Ohio. I was expecting ti to be an American Schlieffen but its not :/. I cant get in close enough to brawl because it has such a high surface detect. I dont really like long range battleships, so it just sits in my port now
American BBs play best at 10km. Ohio even more so. You can get the secondarys out that far. They are really good for making folks panic and turning, and when they do your main guns can crush them.
Btw hes saying Harugumo line is the cheapest to grind. Was a little hard to distinguish there ^^
The guns hit hard when they hit. This feels like T7 Gneisenau at times from replays it seems. Some times it is pretty accurate other times a broadside of a barn is too small of a target.

Ohio still does a lot of pen damage into angled ships, just need to aim a bit higher.
That NC would have eaten much more damage much earlier on.

I prefer Slava but Ohio isn't bad. Though I think Georgia is the overall best version of the secondary American battleships

I used to play WoWS a lot but now I just can't get into it anymore. The RNG just feels even more ridiculous and the MM just isn't very fun anymore.
Just tried the Brawls and solo'd a Vincent with my DM and had a Schlieffen down to 1500 before he finished me but it just felt meh.
I don't know what it is but I feel like the only thing still keeping me check in is the amount of money I spent.
Oh well, it was good while it lasted.

as for me Ohio ranks as lower mid, but that's mostly because I'm not a big fan of this kinda peak 'Murican engineering, I mean like I like the fast BB line up to Iowa(and it's variants) and pretend the other USA BBs don't exist XD

You made really bad 1 game with such pointless standing outside the battlefield… I hope to not have such players in my team. Extremely passive match by you. You had a luck, that your teammates were good and win this match.

When using ohio, the accuracy is poor but when using vermont which has higher dispersion than ohio, the shooting accuracy is much better in vermont. Why ? if i see ohio dispersion is better
I enjoy your content but can't enjoy the game anymore. I loaded up into a CV sub game, and Hybrid and after that just uninstalled the game. I started playing during the CV rework and there was a nice time where you didn't have any subs or airplanes. That game was neat with DDs sneaking around and BB positioning. The current game just isn't nearly as fun so I'll wait until the make a "classic" queue thats BB, CV, DD with no hybrids, until then I'll just watch your videos and hope WOWS could be fun again.
Always great to watch your video; you never disappoint us. Only WG makes the disappointing decision to implement such a stupid bout in the game, which makes it so toxic already but now even more toxic.
All the stupid implementation of subs, cv's and hell a lot more new trash every month, but taking more than a light year to fix problems. I don't even think they had fix the stupid aiming problem yet.
Kind of frustrating to watch at times... you had a broadside Conq (distant) and you don't fire because "he's just going to turn". Sigh. Like those shells cost you anything. Okay.
