Will Chloe Price be in Life is Strange: Double Exposure? (New Theories & Discussion)

- A month has passed since the announcement of the new Life is Strange title - a lot of questions have surrounded around Chloe's role in the game for people who decided to save her in the first game, learning that Max is the main protagonist. Deck Nine have stayed relatively tight lipped intentionally on the subject, dropping a few references here and there for us eagle-eyed fans to dissect. After all, who is Max without Chloe?

I just can't imagine Deck Nine doesn't know that fans won't be happy if Chloe doesn't make an appearance . They have to be aware that there will be a fan backlash if Chloe doesn't show up or - even worse - they broke up/drifted apart offscreen.
So I'm pretty optimistic that Chloe will show up and not just in phone calls or text messages. But I also don't think it's going to be something suuuuper major, just because of how video game development works.
Surely right? When I watched the livestream, a rough 90% of the comments were about Chloe. Plus the Life is Strange TikTok page itself has been interacting and reposting a lot of fan edits about Chloe too. So I think they are aware of what the fans want at this point.
Me too, I think they are just deliberately keeping it a secret for now, hopefully.
I personally think we might have strong lead that Chloe might be David-like cameo. They way how Deck Nine decided to gave us multiple clue about David, sure why they can't teased us with Chloe too right? This is kinda interesting theory since there's multiple indication whenever you choose Bae over Bay. Like you said when you choose Bay, there's hint on their RUclips official showings Joyce photo in the Max room so your explanation about she being close with Joyce is totally correct.

I really hope they will show the differences in ending and how they would have affected max, but tbh I can also see them going for some excuse for chloe and max to not be involved anymore and these melancholic moments being the same for both endings. I hope it's not the case, I hope I'm wrong but I'm not sure if they would really put the work into creating 2 significantly different versions for some of these scenes.
You deserve the support. Cannot wait to see you hit 1k subs. Loving the shirt. I do think Chloe will make an appearance. Whether it’ll be in person is the question, which I’m going to say no. I’m expecting messages or something, maybe even a phone call with her. I don’t like either of those choices when Safi asks about Chloe, i feel like both kinda undervalue their relationship.

Me too, they can't ignore her existence if she's alive. I have hope for the way it is right now as someone who chose to sacrifice Bay, but I agree with the dialogue choices not really doing justice for the nature of their relationship. I feel like she'll show up right at the end of the game for a 'secret' ending perhaps, then it'll just be left to fan imagination.
Without Chloe Price, it wont be worth the Price... if the Price isnt done right, the Price isnt right.
Very sharp observation about the photo similar to the one David has, that indeed cannot be made outside of a Bae setting, unless of course it is a creative screwup, which i dont really think.
An observation of mine: the Joyce photo is one from 2013 or really close to that time as Joyce doesnt look a second older. I would expect the death of Chloe and divorce from David would make her look older and more anguished. My guess is that that is an old photo which could be in both Bae and Bay stories, making that a photo that doesnt reveal anything.
Its a shame i cant mute out the music out because some of the songs really affect me emotionally, especially the Max & Chloe song. I now just mute it, and your lovely voice and read the captions.

That Joyce photo was actually shown during what I assume is the Bae ending pathway of gameplay, so perhaps Max keeps that photo to remember Joyce. Either way & ending, it makes sense why she has it.
Apologies for reopening the emotional gate with the background music! Where I use a lot of emotional LiS tracks in my videos during editing, I've kind of become desensitized to it.

Oh yes it can also be Bae. In any case the Joyce picture doesnt really say anything definitely while the max & chloe 2016 picture is a definite Bae sign.
But i agree Max specifically having a 2013 joyce picture is somewhat odd for the bay timeline as she would have access to more recent ones. I dont have 10 year old pictures of my friends and family on the wall either, unless they are passed on..

I think it’s really cool how Chloe is still discussed! I personally don’t think Baers will have to worry about anything, though. I simply cannot imagine Deck Nine NOT including Chloe in Double Exposure, y’know? She might only have a David-like cameo, she might have a little more, but I think she’ll definitely appear at _some_ point. She just isn’t shown because it’s supposed to be a surprise :D
That’s why I actually hope her possible appearance will stay a secret until the game comes out, and Deck Nine won’t give in to the pressure of showing her beforehand. Plus, fans shouldn’t buy the game solely because of Chloe, but because they are actually interested in the story :) Sadly, I will play the Bay path first, so I won’t find out about Chloe until my second playthrough, but I have no doubt that she’ll appear in it :D
I am interested in the story... if it is a story with Chloe in it. She was too important in Max's life to just disappear and she is simply part of her story, if they dont respect that, the story isnt the story for me..
Sure to save bucks they can scale down her presence, like having her doing some job or visiting David at the time DE plays but if the (or at least one) narrative isnt that they are still close, its just not my story. Not one i can connect with.
They cant't expect people, after 9 years of own headcanon, to just take anything and say "ok, you have acquired 'the rights' so now anything you slap an official logo on is 'real' to me!"
I also cannot imagine decknine not having plenty of satisfaction for bae players, it would seem insanity to risk alienating a bunch of potential buyers.
Like i have said many times, the two weeks early access for people who pay more is awesome. I will hear the praise or outrage in time for me to not pay so much money for something i wont like and i am sure more people are like that.
But, that being said... je last few years and especially the last few months one thing after another that i could never imagine... actually still happens. So... i guess all bets are off, both in Max's world and our world. I honestly dont know which life is stranger.
David like cameo seems convinced most of the people enough at least. That's good idea.
It's great to see the community come together again to discuss the possibilities of her appearance if you saved her in the first game. Surely we did not sacrifice an entire town for nothing, right?
I'm so excited for the story, cannot wait to meet the other characters and learn more about what Max has been up to between LiS1 to now!
i def think she'll appear. but if there's no romance between her and max i'll be so sad. it's been so long and we've only been given CRUMBS of pricefield in the current trilogy. i NEED them together. something where they aren't in the middle of dying or running. an episode where she visits max and they hang out.
It was stated in the Double Exposure livestream that you will confirm Bae or Bay through a conversation with Safi very early on in the game and the game from then on will reflect that and I’m so curious to see how different it’ll be between the two
Everytime i finish another LiS playtrough im totally "this time i will sacrifice Chloe" ... it never works... i just cant. Btw, why should all be dead in AB? Almost all of the houses still stand when they drive through in the end (and we talk US houses = cardboard). No way all the people died.
I tried to go for the Bay ending when I replayed via the Remastered collection, but Max goes through so much trouble in the last few episodes to keep Chloe alive and safe. I just can't resist saving her!
Good observation! I also find the 100% death toll ridiculous if viewed against the relatively low damage.
It seems as if they later retconned that in to make 'bay' more... erm 'appealing'. The point is that the game depicts most buildings in good shape, even the two whales diner isnt totally destroyed. Unless it was some sort of neutron storm or all the people of town were gathered in front of the diner and were just waiting there to die, i would find an 80% or more survival rate almost guaranteed and most of the victims would be closest to the water. Additionally it doesnt make sense, if i was in the diner and i saw the storm coming in the distance, i'd be hopping in my car and driving out of town. It is almost as if the storm just went off like a nuclear bomb and they had no time to run. It is totally unrealistic. if a building stays up, the people in it are allright, unless it is a neutron bomb.
Anyhow i have seen footage where a guy films a tornado destroying his house... and he lived through it! i have seen towns wiped out by a tornado so badly that you only saw the footprints of the houses and everything else was turned into confetti... and there were people _alive_ !
I think they tried to make the death toll more terrible because when i played the game in 2017 the bae/bay percentages were like 80%/20% and that included bae players who replayed to see what bay was like..
When max and chloe drove away i assumed there were a few dozen victims perhaps, but Blackwell and everything that far inland was probably safe, if the damage right at the waterfront relatively modest. Not that i would call a few dozen people dead trivial, but it is something else than the whole town.
