From those grape vines and fruit trees in my backyard, to our chickens in the coop, and our dogs who would kill those chickens given the chance. Especially the schizophrenic homeless guy we hungout with over a meal yesterday. That homeless schizophrenic guy went to school in this community. He has been part of this neighborhood long before I arrived. He wasn't always lost in conversation with the voices constantly pestering his every single right now. He is my neighbor. So it is with the tomato, squash, and pepper plants growing in our yard, and the pluot, plum, apricot trees, and grapevines, our big dogs, and yes, especially our homeless neighbors. All living. All giving. All deserving of gratitude and respect. I don't really know what the hell I'm talking about this morning.
