Very nice, Ive had my 03 XRS for 4 years and I cant even think of another car I want after this.. crazy gas mileage, I can sleep in the back of the car before on those wild weekends.. and its a little sporty. I told myself I needed the 03 for the ecu!
Not the fastest car I've own but I love this car it's fun and versatile, I've been having fun doing little things to it, great all around car & definitely underrated
I would highly advise going back to the stock airbox, then routing a tube to the opening of the grill.. PURE fresh air, I picked up TONS of power under 4500rpm!!! It always felt like the car was choking at low rpm, now its pure throttle response, day and night from stock.. Still stock but heavily modified. Your filter is breathing in hot engine air, our cars need COOOOOL AIR.
I miss my 2003 matrix xrs it had 110,00 (got at 102,000 in a rough shape) when I got rid of it I only had it for a year. I used for school and commuting from VA to upstate NY. What I really missed was the feel and sound of vvti it was a great car but, I sold and bought,a 1994 Miata as project and bought a 2004 Lexus gx470 as a daily/ tow rig. Toyota knew what they were doing with that car and engine I just wish more aftermarket and more people knew about them, Toyota should bring back the 2zz and throw it in the new corrola hatchback.
Its was a good engine at the time, lil zippy but it was never fast and not very tunable unless u have money to burn. I love it but understand its outdated but they should do something similar a high rev fuel efficient in manual obviously with more HP tho lol
cool. I may be checking out a vibe soon. I have those raptis tires on my g35, they have held up well for the last 4 years. also cool 3rd gen, I have a 2000 sunfire red.
dope car! currently on the lookout for an xrs model like yours. Currently own a coupe with a v6 and it’s a bitch on gas but the matrix looks like the perfect daily driver
It's a great all around car, fun 6spd manual, practical, spacious, good on gas. Once you improve the suspension and get better tires it makes a big difference less roll more grip make it a good lil canyon car
Thank you I got such a good deal 220 with the tires , I see these wheel and tires for sale all the time on offer up for 400-600 I thought that was super high but it's the norm I guess I reall did get a great deal
Thays ironic you went from a Z to this. I currently own a 4th gen eclipse and am doing the same thing because if a newborn. Looking forward to the much needed room! Also - thanks to scotty ;)
@AntbankzBruh do you still have this car? It looks gorgeous. I drive an automatic 2006 Matrix base ( roll up windows & manual locks.) with 240,000 kilometres, & I’ve never had any issues. Just the regular oil changes & new fluids whenever they need it
@@antbankzbruh nice man. You should try to keep it for at least 5 more years. I still hope to be driving my Matrix 10 years from now. Aside from a bad donut gasket below the exhaust manifold, it runs perfectly fine. There are always things that you’re going to live with on a 15+ year old car. I don’t live in a place where they do emissions testing, so I don’t have to worry.
Somebody please respond. I am looking at a 2005 Matrix XR with 150,000 miles for $6,500. KBB says average is about $5,800 so do you think I would be getting ripped off for $6,500?
Inflation is crazy on the used market right now. Price will Depend on you area. In southern I wouldn't pay that you can find something equal of that for 4-6k in very good condition
Just got one with 114k miles however the owner didn't move it for 4 years due to being away in another country hes was in the navy and his wife didn't drive stick , the dude owned almost 2k in expired so I believe his story, but all my boys are telling me I shouda skipped on it due to not being moved for years? I got it for 2.6k had it for 2 weeks now
@@antbankzbruh tags were already played but he showed me the registration and it was from 2016 he showed me the car maintenance history it's clean title but I can already tell it will need a new clutch soon, tomorrow I'm taking it to Toyota for an airbag recall
mine unfortunately transmission broke and i put a new one and again broke. start doing a noise dosent pass more than 20 miles.. finally i get rid of that vehicle.
Nice car I had the chance to get one a few years ago and now I regret I didn't get it..great lil car with Toyota reliability they were made to last .
