    I have a 2008 Toyota Matrix Xr with 220k miles on it. The paint is peeling and faded, but it is very reliable. I still take it on long road trips without any issues.

      I bought a 2008 Matrix with only 29,000 miles on it. An old man of 94 yrs kept in garage and never drove it. I bought for 8,000

      That metal line running along the power steering reservoir has two black small plastic caps. Mine are missing what is the purpose of those.

      Nice ! We just bought a 120 K mile '12 Sienna. I see a lot of older Siennas driving around. Very impressed thus far.

    Excellent. I have a 2006 Matrix AWD with 196,000 miles. It is super reliable and handles great. Plus, it is very easy to work on (except for front cv axles which can be a pain to remove).

      Easy to work on when it needs to be lol 😂 I’ve only replaced the exhaust manifold so far on this car and other smaller things

      @@2zzlow They usually also need new intake manifold gasket. Symptoms are rough idle, especially if it's very cold out, but no codes set. You won't get lean codes until it's pretty bad.

    My toyota matrix XR has over 299,999 miles on it now and the odometer wouldn't go any further since GM didnt consider that the toyota engine would last that long...Toyota should replace or find a solution for customers who have odometers that have gone past 300K.

      They occasionally roll down here and do work. Also rafas garage is like 5 mins from you if you need any work done. I'm near by too if u ever need some help always will to help a fellow enthusiasts

    The paint is most likely from detergents in the washing soap. I just spray my cars down with water with a lil bit of Simple Green.. then just a water spray down.

      Your right he even read the top cover too. Its Dexron 2 or 1 TYPE ATF not Automatic Transmission Fluid ATF T-IV, The Dexron is a blue container not Black with T-IV because that is only for Automatics Transmission for Toyota 2005-2006, IT'S DEXRON TYPE ATF!

    Why did u change the exhaust gasket? Did the car have a engine code for it ?

      Every time i accelerated the vehicle sounded like it had a massive exhaust leak. turns out i had a cracked exhaust manifold. check my most recent matrix video on that issue.

      As per toyota standards in the owners manual and the power steering cap. I would recommend just using Valvoline MaxLife. Done it before with a Full flush, turned like a dream afterwards.

    I have a 2009 matrix. Runs and handles great but the paint is chipping off just like your sister’s car. Would you recommend getting a full paint job or not worth it? Thanks!

    I have the same car and I have an evap canister code. But I can’t tell if it’s the canister or a leak. Any good tell tales?

      I think that when you read manual owner it says: keep the arrow pointing UP not down

      I work at a honda dealership and we install them pointing down. I don’t see how the blower would be any different from a Toyota and honda if both are made by denso.

      Hey genius...outside air flow comes in from the cowl in front of the vehicle and travels DOWN into the blower. Why tf would the air go back out where it came in from? Why would I need to install it with the arrow going up out through the cowl?

    What’s the highest mileage you’ve seen on these & is it worth buying one for 4,300 with 202k miles or try to get it for 3,700 but also checking all the oils/when the last checking was on the car.

      Ive seen multiple easily get to 299999 which is when the odometer stops working.

      I bought my 05 xr at 143,000. They taped the check engine light for a transmission sensor. Have had for over 5 years. Never has given me problems. Just maintenance. It's at 270k now. Running like a new car after I replaced rear motor mount and fuel injectors seals. I paid 5k for it over 5 years ago.

I’m eyeing one for 4,300 but it has a exhaust leak the dude said i wanna ask 3,800 cause if i get it i gotta fix that exhaust leak & who knows how much that’ll cost.

      Well my ‘03 Matrix rolled 299,999 back in December of ‘21 and is now stuck at that mileage, but it’s still is on the road, new valve cover gasket and new plugs since then. The bodies will turn to dust before the power train ever fails.

    I don't know man, Dexron and ATF Type IV, don't have the same specs. In fact, I found a comment on Toyota's site saying that Dexron should not be used in place of Type IV. So, I have a concern that putting Type IV in the power steering system, and mixing it with Dexron (which is spec'd), may create a compatibility, and seal damage, issue.
