    **Duarsini
    Duarsini is a small tribal village in the Purulia district. The Sal, Segun, Piyal and Palash forests of Duarsini, just 13 kms from Bandwan town, are ideal for nature lovers. The attraction of this village lies in its scenic beauty due to its surrounding of spectacular rolling hills and deep greenery of the Dalma Hills. Dalma Forest is home to wildlife such as bears, wolves, boars, and many known and unknown bird species.

    **Keonjhar
    According to traditions, Keonjhar State was founded sometime during the 12th century during the rule of the Eastern Ganga dynasty when the founder Jyoti Bhanj of the Bhanj dynasty, who was the brother of Adi Bhanj of Mayurbhanj, was enthroned as the Raja of Keonjhar with the help of dominant local Bhuyan clans. The influence of Bhuyans on the enthronement rituals and regnal traditions of Keonjhar suggests a long-standing relationship with the kingdom.Around 14th cen a prince from Keonjhar named Ananga Bhanja, who was nephew of the Raja of Keonjhar was named the King of Baudh by the local chieftains under Ganga rule.After the independence of India in 1947 Keonjhar merged into Republic of India on 1 January 1948 following which it became the part of Keonjhar.
    *Keonjhar is one of the major mineral producing Districts of Odisha. Iron ore, Manganese ore, Chromate, Quartzite, Bauxite, Gold, Pyrophillite and Lime Stone are the major minerals found in this District.
    **Maa Banadurga Temple is a Devi temple in Patrapali is situated in the Sambalpur district of Odisha near National Highway 6.
    temple just before climbing Badrama Ghati (Forest terrain) in NH6 (National Highway-6 joining Mumbai(Bombay) to Kolkata(Calcutta)). Popular belief says that a small prayer in front of Bandurga, an incarnation of Goddess Durge promises safe passage through this difficult zig-zag hilly road. Lorrys, buses and other vehicles never fails to stop here to offer a small prayer, coconut and flower to the Goddess.
    **Sambalpur
    famous for its Hand loom textile works, popularly known as Sambalpuri Textile.
    Sambalpur is known for its presiding deity Goddess Samaleswari. The temple of the Goddess has been built in 16th century A.D. by Balaram Dev, the 1st Chouhan ruler of Sambalpur Chouhan dynasty.
    The town of Sambalpur is much older. The Greek geographer Ptolemy (2nd Century AD) in his book “Geographike” refers to a town “SAMBALKA” situated on the bank of “MANADA” identified today with modern Sambalpur on the bank of the river Mahanadi.
    **Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Mahasamund district. The reserve is about 100 km from Raipur and about 45 km from Mahasamund city. It was established in 1976 under the Wildlife Protection Act. The Jonk River flows through the sanctuary, which is a tributary of the Mahanadi river.
    The Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary is named after the twin forest villages of Bar and Nawapara located in the sanctuary.
    The sanctuary is full with Tropical Dry Deciduous Forests and Bamboo is amongst the most commonly spotted tree here. Sal, Mahua, Semal, Tendu Ber, Teak and other tropical dry deciduous trees like Tendu, Terminalia, Mahua, Ber and Semal trees are also commonly found in the reserve.
    Wildlife of the sanctuary include Tigers, Sloth Bear, Flying Squirrels, Jackals, Four-horned Antelopes, Leopards, Chinkara, Black Buck, Jungle Cat, Barking Deer, Porcupine, Monkey, Bison, Striped Hyena, Wild Dogs, Chital, Sambar, Nilgai, Jackal, Gaur, Muntjac, Wild Boar, Cobra, and Python. Recently wild buffalo were imported from Manas National Park for reintroduction in the wild.
    **Raipur
