Tone King debuted their first amps in 1993 with a singular vision: uncompromising, all-tube tones that were malleable enough to provide anyone with a solid sound yet detailed enough to allow for precise sonic sculpting to satisfy the most insatiable tone fanatics. Their returning Royalist series takes this aural ethos to even further reaches with MKIII combo amps, tube heads, and Celestion-loaded cabs allowing for unmatched tonal tailoring. Sweetwater’s guitar guru, Don Carr, puts these formidable amps through their paces. Check it out!

Nothing beats a beautiful sounding tube amp, I'm burnt out on all these modeling amps!
Easy to say...if you've go 5:48 t 4 grand to spend. Otherwise pick up a Katana for one tenth that much, or if you're recording
pay $99 for a Mesa plug in.
@@gurianboyI’ve never played a Katana that I liked. I’ve herd them next to other amps, I’ve herd them live, in music stores etc, I don’t see why they’re so popular other than the price.
Glad I held out on the new Marshall JTM 45 studio.
I just bought a ToneKing Falcon Grande. Fantastic amp. Now this would make a great addition.👍
Different price points I would have thought
@@KHGuitarFreak1988 , Big price difference for sure.
I have been wanting studio jtm too, and now after hearing this one, I still want jtm. Marshall has much nicer clean sound because it has character. This is just CLEAN.. too clean..
Excellent review! Sound quality is great with headphones. Really gives you the vibe of the amp. So you can decide if that’s the direction you want to head or not 👍
Great amp and demo.
What awesome amp the tone👍 Don Carr 🎸🔥
Ok, that head and 2x12 combination is beautiful...but why don't the logos match!?!?!
Is it not just a reflection making them look different?
The logos are the same - just the reflection is off.
it's a 1x12 cab.
Reflection, come on now.
@@greysuit17 I received my head and 1x12 today and the logo's match .. they are just mirrors like so it is just reflecting whatever
Superb 💙💙💙
This guy seems awfully fond of settings that have mushy thuddy pick attack, especially with the humbuckers. Give it some sizzle and snap!
Its hard to try to decide between a Strat tone or a Les Paul tone .Man I Love them both...
Now this would make a great giveaway! Sounds fantastic!
I'd love to hear Don take the 40 watt, 1x12 combo for a spin.
Hi Dude. It Sounds good 😅
This is the same cosmetic as the Royalist Mark II
If it had an effects loop, it would be perfect.
it doesnt?????
It is perfect, I don't use effects pedals.
Just when I ordered the Marshall Studio JTM from you guys.... 💀😅
I know right!
You won’t be disappointed. You’ll get those same tones at a lower volume and you’ll have an effects loop. The JTM is fantastic
Studio jtm sounds so much better... I hate those amps like this one that sound great but without any character
Who was the designer, if Bartell sold the company years ago ??
No thanks. The 40w head and combo are way too big and heavy for me. It's about same as a 100w amp. Plus Iron Man 2 is a tone altering attenuator with a click shifter with between 6w and 12w with each shift. Means you can rarely set volume to desired levels
Great but You are better off with a Ceriatone 51 All access + an Iron Man attenuator.
lol
Good Amp but doesn't has the Marshall sound at all.
Have been a big fan of tone king for years. Cannot imagine who thought the look of this amp was par for 2k÷ boutique.
This is the ugliest thing they have ever made. May sound nice but it will die on store shelves.
To each their own. I dig the look personally.
@@kommi1974sadly I have to agree it’s a dog, looks-wise. I’m potentially interested in trading my Triple Crown for this, but the look and lack of an FX loop is a stumbling block. Plus I have a Classic Reverb Signature and a Kingsley Constable preamp pedal, so maybe that gets me to that magic place sufficiently anyway. Hmmmm, decisions.
Whatever dude, I think it looks sweet. Looks like it was made in the 50’s, but sounds like the 60s/70s.
Independent gain control, toggle switch, and attenuater plus a footswitch to go from chanel a to channel b, but you have a shared eq?
That defeats the purpose of independent channels all together!
