I built it last week. I had no problems at all, but I didn't liked the thick Tires of the Landing gear, so I took narrower ones in the similar diameter. Cobi has these and it looks much better and more realistic, in my opinion. Beside from that I built a stand where I included Studs to place the Minifigures an their secondary head gear. All in all it is a impressive Set with a lot of fun building it.
@@darthvaderbutwayshittier7054 I goggled it and No, it hasn't. For me. The Tires that came with it, are too wide and they have nearly an "offroad-profile". This doesn't fit for me, so I changed it.
It's amazing how Cobi has improved their designs through the years. I remember playing with their Spitfire Vb from like 5 years ago, and now look at this
I will much rather have a few weak parts on a set if this means it will look better on a shelf. Look at today’s Lego Star Wars sets, they are smaller than older sets and have more internal pieces to make them more durable for play. They always look more like caricatures than accurate models, because they are primarily a kids toy. Cobi sets are more like model kits and need to look accurate to the real planes, tanks and so on. Also, if you remember where to touch, Cobi sets are usually solid as a rock.
Interesting choice for the wheels, as they seem more suited for an offroad vehicle than plane. Really nice detailed build, with an impressive wing span. Really like the tile printing, and how the wings are ball jointed in for additional stability.
It is a real eye-catcher, I also built it three days ago. The weaknesses are easy to fix with a few drops of glue. I am eagerly awaiting the new series of fighter aircraft in 1:48 scale. They will fit in well with this, just like the tanks already do now.
This is an awesome Speed Build kit! I love how easy it was to put together. The B-24 Liberator looks amazing with its 70cm wingspan! Highly recommend this for any model airplane enthusiast.
I dont understand, why Lego cant make their very expensive sets so smooth and detailed? Very often starships from Lego Star Wars is a ugly mess, especially starships with wings.
One thing the B-24 got right over the B-17 was a retractable ball. The B-17's ball turret was fixed in place. The B-24's could be retracted into the plane
@@NateBuildingBricks No no, the actual B-17 and B-24, the real planes from WWII. The ball retracted into the plane on the B-24, it was fixed in place on the B-17. So if a B-17 came in for a belly landing and someone was trapped in the ball, well, they became a new coat of red on the runway
Great another set to add to my wish list lol. Honestly this is an amazing build and one I’ve been waiting so long for! I cannot wait to get this! Keep up the great videos 👍
There is a musuem near me that had a b-24 painted like axis nightmare but then it got used and repainted for the Hulu mini series catch 22 which has George Clooney as one of the main characters and his character in the show is majorly important to the story of the show, the Hulu mini series catch 22 is based off of a book also called catch 22, the book and the mini series is about a group of us army air corps b-24 bomber pilots who disliked one of there commanding officers for multiple reasons but then the pilots and crew of the b-24s later recall that the reasons they disliked there commanding officer also helped them get though the hard ships of the war.
Some very clever techniques involved in building this plane, however the strut needed to stop it tipping backwards is a major weakness of the design. I remember building my own aircraft with lego and if every going with a tricycle gear, I'd build a space in the nose to put a small weight - dad was always happy to lend me a bit of mild steel or something. This model uses too many small bricks at the rear of the fuselage and is thus too heavy. Also really disappointing that the scale doesnt allow for minifigs to be placed in the vehicle - although a larger scale would be a much bigger and more expensive set, I think it would have made sense.
@@UncleJonWardIts a tight fit and might need something fancy like tungsten (or lead if you dont care about working with it). From around the 2:50 mark you can maybe spot some areas in the nose that could be remodelled if you had the parts - depends how much it is overbalanced by - but also might be possible to save some bricks at the rear as well.
They really REALLY need to start offering official ways to take of that damn landing gear. Such a detailed model, but the landing gear when raised just looks ridiculous.
@@niety660 I did several times, but they told me they can't work with influencers from abroad due to tax reasons. I don't really understand that, because other brands don't have this problem. We both live in the EU. It shouldn't be a problem at all. So I can't do every expensive set, especially if it's just a minor update from a previous version.
These are great videos you make, I love the editing, and the finished product. I just don’t understand how this company can make Lego bricks. Isn’t it copyright infringement of Lego products? Please can someone explain.
Lego lost it‘s patent already in 2009. There‘s copyright on some specific bricks, but Lego lost already some of them and will loose more in the future. They think these bricks are art and worth to be copyrighted, but in fact the majority are just technical solutions and this requires a patent which ended in 2009. I’m always laughing when someone talks about cheap Chinese bricks. In fact Lego wasn’t even the inventor of bricks. They’ve already been patented in 1939 and Lego copied, modified and patented them later after the original patent ended. And they produce in china while COBI is producing in the EU. But don’t tell this to a Fanboy. You will destroy their worldview and ideology which may result in deep depression ;) For me the manufacturer doesn’t matter. If the quality is good and I like the set, I’ll build it, no matter who produced it.

It’s not a cobi build without the classic loose parts of the build
Yep
And it's always a build fault hardly manufacture.
I won't lie, it sucks that they have the weak spots on every build..but then again you gotta give them props on making things like this that lego wont
Plus even if some parts are loose it's still great sets
