I absolutely love the AS90!! What an beast. Saw the inside of one when they came to Nottingham for Armed Forces Day and just loved the size and the power of the thing!! What a fantastic piece of kit!!!
Tracked the very first rounds fired from from 'my pet' in 1986. The late Major Gordon Booker was BC and Harry Mocket (I think?) was the Saarmajor. Wonderful gun!
try searching ruclips.net/video/rrFQrGkHosQ/видео.html there's a few shell landings in this video but nothing special and the impacts was filmed on a phone at distance....
Well, AS90 won't be around for ever as it's likely to get replaced by a wheeled variant so the choice is yours, armour or the easy option 🤣 I'm sold on armour because it's more bad ass....but it's hard work maintaining your stead 👀
@@AJoeA the truth is AS90 can manual firing n automatic if the electric system down it can still firing, like other artillery system cannot fire if the electrical system is down
The British Army, especially the Armoured Corps is really too small to have much affect on any enemy. Sad to say… The UK's best deterrence is the 'Special Relationship' with the U.S.A
10 men is war time detachment and the extra 5 would normally be manning the ammo trucks, then you have gun guides who would always be moving with the BRO. With regards to the ammo trucks, we could have up to 3 ammo trucks supporting 1 gun. We plan for 1 truck but with the amount of ammo these beasts can get through and how we think the battle might go, we could have 3 for close support
Should have had RA crew and not REME for this also whilst firing why that awfukl music? The guns of the RA are their colours and if you see Kings Troop firing the crews are kneeling to attention as a mark of respect. I served with 5 Heavy RA on M107 and they cannot be mistaken for tanks and I don't understand why people on these viseos call these weapons tanks, there is a world of difference between artillery pieces and tanks.
I had an M109, these look great 👍🏼
Me too

Hi. Please help me with charging procedure. After the charged projectile, what is to put in first, primer or charge?
Class to see them out and about! Currently working on them at barrow 💪
Hi. Please tell me, after the charged projectile, what is to put in first, primer or charge?
This beast can fire the first three rounds in just 10 seconds. Imagine a battery or regimental fire mission!
That is with a good gun crew.
@@liamponsonby1862 I've seen it done by the RA Sales team at Larkhill. It's impressive.
@@DieyoungDiefast I was in a gun bty for 10 years and seen it done in 8 countries 👍
@@liamponsonby1862 I just fix the gun control system :). Used to maintain HVM and MLRS weapon systems too, bit of a funny regiment ;)
M109 wouldn't have fired 1 😂

I've been in the Bombard OP on Salisbury Plain while 2 of these shelled us.
Absolutely terrifying.
Fuck ever being out in the open during a barrage!
Benn in that Bombard bunker when someone decided he didn't like it and tried to get out.
@@DieyoungDiefast - I’m pretty certain they’d have disliked being outside a lot more than being inside, although only for a very short time!
awesome piece of modern machinery. i love to blow stuff up. lol
Awesome! I would love my job too!!! Lol

Lets lose the music and let the sound of the engine and gunfire prevail.

Thats what the argentines thought aswell.....
Where do the other 5 crewmen go when the AS90 is driving?
usually following in an accompanying Bulldog or support vehicle.
