This is one of the best games ever made. I’m addicted to Quake. I can’t stop playing it. I actually became damn good too. Can beat it on hard without dying. That’s not easy to do.
I wasn't into gaming until in 2001 a friend gave me the quake cd and well, here i am 20 years later still gaming. this game is among my top 5 all time, along with ico, ocarina of time, doom eternal and rs4 Honestly this game meant so much for humanity because it was the first 3D game ever. I installed the remaster and hopefully one day I will finish it.
First 3d game ever what doom means nothing to you what about wolfenstein that predated doom. quake was the fist to allow you to look up and down and give you 3d characted models
@@raymorin7726 I think that falls into the 2.5 D category. I found an amazing thread on reddit, that mentions some games that weren't really 3D, it was only the illusion of it, like doom. Quake is the first real 3D game I can think of right now. I might be wrong but I really liked what other gamers say about this 2.5 D thing.
@@phillipgoat00 ya that makes sense still kinda of nitpicking though the characters being sprites never made it any less 3d to me but i get the concept
The lovecraftian themes and environments, the sound effects, the guns, there's really nothing like it. Playing this back in the late 90s was a blast, so creepy.
I bought this for PS4 it's so good! I didn't experience quake when it came out but played alot of doom, Duke Nukem and alot more of the shooters just didn't have this one! Quake 2 was the game I experienced more and can't wait to pick it up! I'm happy to see this genre of shooter becoming a thing again!
When you play doom, there are certain weapons that could almost one shot any low to med tier opponents, such as the shotgun vs imps, sgts or even demons. But in Quake it's impossible to one shot anyone, this is why you always need to study your approach all the time, otherwise the enemy unit is always guaranteed to score at least one hit against you. I remember when I was a kid how much this game used to keep me on edge while playing and I never understood why. Now that I'm an adult, I can see that the game deliberately choosing not to have music was a great choice, it makes you feel like you're alone, anxious, always looking around you, exactly like being in a fighting pit, either the hunter or the prey.
Teeny tiny tip to save you plenty of headaches later on. The big white lightning guy is resistant to explosives (RL and GL) so use the other stuff to get rid of him quicker + save that valuable RL ammo. You can also bait him into swinging if you don't have cover to hide behind.
First episode introduces the Grunt, the Rottweiler, the Ogre, the Fiend, the Scrag, the Zombie, the Knight and the Shambler Second episode introduces the Enforcer, the Death Knight, the Rotfish and the Vore No new monsters were introduced in the Third episode The Fourth episode introduces the Spawn
haha Episode 4 is nuts isn't it? first time I've played it I found it really impressive, memorable moments 👍Sandy got an unfair amount of criticism thrown at him

THE GONG - A NEW ENEMY FOR QUAKE (3nd script of the series: WOR(L)DS ) With this script I want to add 1 new unique enemy to enhance the game experience of QUAKE, a game developed by ID Software in 1996. I hope many of you will trasform these ideas into game experiences. THE GONG It's a gong mounted on a stand that can be placed around the levels. Each enemies can bash it creating a mystical gong sound that hurts and numbs the player blocking his movement. The stronger is the enemy the longer is the sound wave, the damage and the time the player is numbed\blocked. The gong reacts also to projectiles. The idea is to enhance the atmosphere of the game with an eerie gong sound and add game strategies that come from the interaction between the enemies and the gong itself. MINI CONTRACT You can use my ideas for free. If you use them, just let me know as I love to hear about your projects and how my ideas are useful for you.
