    I've left Christianity for Japanese Buddhism, where I feel accepted. In my country, however, Catholics are more tolerant of homosexuality. Evangelicals are die-hard and they have definitely spoiled Christianism here. Marvelous analysis of one of my favorite movies. Thanks!

    Wow! There are no words to explain how well you hit it on the nose. You turned a senseless, debilitating, unintelligent, endless war on human life, into an intelligent, logical fact of human existence. You did this all within a few simple sentences. BRAVO to you!

    I love this movie and I definitely like your analysis of it, through a biblical lens. I've never thought to view it that way, but it's really cool, the way you're looking at it. Plus, I'm a big fan of etymology so when you went into the original Greek meanings of the words, that was nice.
    Great video!

    Just saw it today on my Roku, it's a very groundbreaking film ...very romantic and spiritual. Also very homosexual, but it's about love between two human beings, it's more than just sex, it's emotion, heart. God is love...and love is God.

    I just feel that you have blessed me in so many ways in like my more than 30yrs of existence. I’ve just recently discovered your channel and I’m really surprised why your viewership is so little when in fact a lot of young gay Christians out there are suffering on as to how they can reconcile their faith with their sexuality. I want to learn and hear more from you. I hope to meet you in person. Your views should be heard into this world. We have been wronged for so long because of how they interpreted the bible because it was convenient to the norms and traditions of society. Thank you. I shall watch more of you.

      Thank you for your kind words and I'm glad the videos are helpful! I'm currently teaching a college course on this subject and due to Covid-19, we are being required to film all of our class lectures in advance. It is my intention to release them on this channel later this year. So there's going to be a lot more content to come and I hope you share the videos with people who need to see them! The algorithm on RUclips makes it pretty difficult to suggest Queer + Christian content, which is a big reason why it's hard to find an audience... so people like you can help the channel grow.
      Thanks again for reaching out. I really appreciate it!

    Brokeback Mountain is a incredibly tragic story of love, passion, nature and discrimination. The film is truly a work of art that shows the reality of what it is like to be a gay man in a place that doesn't want you. Took me 28 years to learn the lessons that Ennis suffered in his story. I wish I had only seen this film sooner but I didn't watch it because the dogma that it is that "gay" film.

    The WHOLE POINT of Romans 1 is Rom 2:1 "You therefore have no excuse you who pass judgement on someone else." The fact that some people are gay is now medically proven.
    I was exactly in the same situation when I was married to my accepting wife for 51 years. She has now passed.

    I’d like to ask a question… In the video you say that psychologist it have concluded that same-sex attraction is natural for some part of the population… There are people who would argue against that stating that once you’ll allow for homosexuality then you open the door to every other kind of sexual attraction including bestiality and pedophilia and every other kind of Sexual attraction there is out there. How would you respond to somebody who comes at you with this argument about why they do not except homosexuality as being an expression of normal healthy sexuality because of what they think the implication is if you except it.?

      @@ThatTheologyTeacher See, you do have the gift of discernment. You cut that argument straight to the core. Reminded me of days past when people asked if I was gay. I would say, "Why? Do you want to have sex with me?" That shuts it down pretty quick. Anyway, thank you for your swift insights and standing up for what is right.

    When my husband and I saw that film it shattered our hearts. Heath Ledger's tortured character was painful to watch, and every time Jake Gyllenhall looked at him, the look in his eyes spoke louder than ten pages of dialogue.

    Uh, dude, the lamb was slaughtered because they were NOT doing their jobs. They were, literally, shepherds who shagged & thus got their lambs slaughtered. That's not a great metaphor for your point (and it adequately rebuts your claim that they were discriminated against.). Boss has pretty good reason to fire you when you're off shagging while the lambs get slaughtered.

  • @stephenglasse2743
    @stephenglasse2743 7 месяцев назад

    You're slipping in some assumptions there aren't you. there's nothing in Romans 1 or the following chapters that suggests Paul is thinking of sex in the context of idol worship or false religion. He's simply condemning certain actions outright as being contrary to nature. One example is the abandonment of the natural function of the woman for unnatural relations with men. This is exactly the sin depicted in BM since Ledger's character abandoned his wife and kids for sexual liasons with Twist. The fact that society was messed up and hypocritical in its treatment of homosexuality over heterosexual sins doesn't make del mar any less guilty.

    Oh, and the worst sin was the adultery & the repeated attempts/efforts to break-up families, abandon kids. I'm not sure why leaving my wife to take up w/ my friend becomes a good thing if that friend is a male, so that whole mess would be the worst sin. (There's a lot of sins in there, but I suppose adultery is an adequate short hand.)

      Basing on the movie, i would like to ask you:did they really fell in love with thier own wives? What do you guess?
      (Despite the reaction the wives got discovering thay their husbands have a bromance) . Did they somehow demonstrate a feeling more than an affection, similar to love for them? Open question.

    Uh, friend, did you catch the error in your reasoning? If homosexuals having straight sex is sinful, then those children - who were the result of this allegedly sinful activity - were created via sin? In a marital bed? There's some procreative sex in marital beds that God means to condemn? That's your argument? God would have preferred that they NOT create those children?
    Your point is that God's telling gay people sex yes, but procreation NO? Since gay people cannot reproduce, you interpret Romans 1: 26 -27 as a prohibition on gay people procreating...really?
    I think you need to revise this theory as it's exceedingly unlikely it's the procreation, rather than the sex, that God's prohibiting here. God seems to have banned gay sex, not gay procreation.

    • @joementoza
      @joementoza 2 года назад +2

      You are wrong. That is not what he said at all. You are hearing what you want to hear and not what is actually being said.
      He said it is sinful for homosexuals to engage in heterosexual intercourse because that is not in their nature. That has nothing to do with a homosexual's HETEROSEXUAL parents. The heterosexual parents are not sinful when they engage in heterosexual intercourse. Whether their offspring are homosexual or heterosexual has nothing to do with the homosexual individuals engaging in heterosexual intercourse. Which in the movie hurt everyone around them. You seem angry. Go take a chill pill bud.
