Misa is an objectively great bassist. The rest of the Maids are objectively great at their roles as well. Splitting hairs with other great players, and trying to create some ranking isn’t interesting to me. What I do know is that they come together to form a band that’s even better than the sum of the incredible parts. And, lastly, I don’t care if there are people who don’t even like them at all… there’s no band I’d choose over them at this point, and I’m so glad I discovered them!
As Ive never heard every musician or band I can never say someone is the best, but out of the many I've heard Misa easily holds her own and the magic her and Akane have will see them reach iconic rythm section status, which is where they are already for my money. But out of the many bands I've heard in my 65 years, the Maid's are the one's who truly please my rock and roll soul Po, totally addicted 😁👍🍻

That's one reason why I don't like to use words like 'best band' or 'best musician'. When it comes to the best in their respective field, it's no longer a question of better or worse, but at best 'different'. .... What gets me is how easily they are able to come out with these extra bits that kicks ass. Don't know when they first started doing these extra bits. 3/4 songs every tour season with extra bits, never to be used again! As an example, Play has 4 different intros that I know of.
Yes there may be better bassist but there are few that when I hear them play know who they are immediately. You’re correct these others have 20+ years on her but MISA has a groove and style that I have only heard from her. That only get better. And when MISA! and Akane play there is this magical connected. As Akane has said “MISA! Is her sole-mate and BFF!” But all the ladies of BM are BFFs “Besties”…that what makes them so special! 🤘🕊️🦍🥷👸🏻👀PO!
You are a nice guy. Of course there are many bass players who are insanely good. I still think she is one of them, because of her style. The guy who plays 6 string bass (I think he also plays 8 string one) in the band Asterism is also one of a kind. Yeah you can check them out when you feel like it. There are so many amazing players with style of their own. 👍
Michael, did you know there was a soulful and iconic American rock artist that always performed with a bottle of Jim Beam on stage and performed barefoot? Her name - Janice Joplin. MISA is "old school".
Technical shredding is nice but it doesn't hold my attention unless they can make great songs and tasty choices that appeal to me like Maid Rock does. MISA MISA MISA!!! 💪❤🥃
Or they can't accept that a woman can do it better. I find it kinda funny that some of the big name legends acknowledge these ladies for their skill and techniques but some people that have never played a note in their lives can't accept it. You don't have to like the group but at least acknowledge their hard work, skill and talent
